    When I took my Buddhist Vows in a Vietnamese Temple here in the U.S. I was given the Name Nguyen Tu. . . .

      oh wow, that is very interesting, my dad practices buddhism as well. Even though his really name is Nguyen Van Hoa, he is still given't another name called Nguyen Tu Duc. So now as some Westerns who are not familiar with this concept may think, we are all relatives now 😄

      You're welcome! It's interesting how the name Nguyen is so common among Vietnamese people that it can sometimes feel like a big extended family. 😄

    I actually have wondered how Nguyen was pronounced for the longest time. You would laugh if you heard how people in my country (Belgium) sometimes pronounce it in Dutch! Today, we can go to YT and hear you or an other person say it and know how it is done the proper way. Before the Internet, that was not at all an evidence...

    • @LingLearnLanguages
      @LingLearnLanguages  9 месяцев назад

      Now you really make me curious how it was pronounced back then in other forgeign countries 😆

      @@LingLearnLanguages There should be a RUclips channel where everybody in the comment could say a few words one after the other, so we could all say how Nguyen is pronounced in their language
