I always had huge respect for Kidd for being able to keep up with Luffy as much as he does with such little help. No dark king time skip training and seemingly only 1 real helpful Crew member.
It's like Kidd put all of his experience points in himself and killer instead of the rest of his crew, so he's having a hard time progressing through the story keeping up with that whale who progresses his whole team and is farther in the game.

Dragon, Luffy, and possibly Garp too, so yes the only reason on why Saul not being a brutal Giant in combat is because of the fact that he was born and raised in the South Blue instead on Elabf.

we saw him already once after kid lost his arm tho and he still had just one arm. so shanks' arm hunt continues the way more realistic theory is this: shanks will come to wano to end that war. why? cuz that's what he does. we will see the consequences of the war, most scabbards survive, but kinemon and kiku die. as momo mourns their deaths, shanks appears behind him shanks: "you done?" momo: "wha-" shanks has ben beckmann take measurements of kinemon's left arm and then has lucky roo rip it off. they take the arm with them for further testing. they give kid his arm back cuz it didn't fit. they fuck off
One possibility is that Shanks actually defeated/killed John when he became a yonko. We know John was from the same generation as Kaido and BM, so it's not unlikely he was one of the emperors of the sea at the time of Shanks's rise to the top. perhaps he was the previous holder of the yonko slot that Shanks occupied. Which makes it interesteting because that means all four runner ups to the title of pirate king after Roger died were previous Rocks pirates.
There wasn't a force or phenomenon like the Yonko before them. Those 4 became the Yonko as they rose to that power but it wasn't an established thing in universe before that. Hence Roger just being the pirate king. His age had 1 proper ruler.
Or Kidd is John's son and some of Shank's crew were originally part of John's crew. Shank's and John had a duel/ Davy back fight, Shanks won and took the crew mates. Or they mutinied against John to join Shanks, either way Kidd wants revenge.
I like Kidd, but it feels really weird that his Murders and Crimes against civilians are just kinda ignored outright by Luffy and others. He was introduced as having a high bounty specifically for being a sadist who tortured innocents.
to be honest, i've always thought that Shanks's ability to meet with the gorosei has less to do with some established connection between them, and more to do with the fact that this would essentially be a meeting between two heads of state. the gorosei control the world government, and shanks has his yonko territory, which is essentially a country all on its own, it's not under the WG. and also, he's incredibly powerful. once he's in the room with them... what can they possibly do about it? get a guard to escort him out? they're not idiots, they know that they cant just do that. they kind of have to just take him seriously because they know that it wouldn't be advantageous for them to essentially start a war that they dont need to. if shanks does have a connection to them, that's fine, i trust oda, but at the same time i dont think that would be necessary in order for that scene of him speaking to the gorosei to make sense.
I like the idea that Luffy wasn't the only kid shanks visited. What if shanks also went to Kidd but didn't deem him worthy of the straw hat. So Kidd is just out for revenge because his childhood hero didn't believe in him.
Wow interesting let me add something more he went to south blue in search of ace as he was born there and lets assume that shanks know this somehow but met kid didnt find him worthy he kept searching for ace went to east blue again let’s assume he found out that somehow and then accidentally met luffy he ate the fruit that he got for ace to inherit as we form recent events in manga that luffys devil fruit isnt normal
I really doubt it, I think Shanks visited Luffy because Ace was on the same island. Roger said his son should be the next pirate king and Shanks probably wanted to fulfill his former captain's wishes. When he went to Dawn Island, he found Luffy, who acted just like Roger and who Shanks deemed as worthy
Kidds dad is actually the guy who was on higuma bears crew who lucky roo shot, the same balloon who stole the gomu gomu no mi who was destined to be his fruit so DUE to a double negative instead of cancelling out he doubled down on shanks and particularly lucky roo

Here's a theory I had thought of, it explains why Oda made Kid an important character that he intentionally added to the story. When you think about it and how his awakening could effect and change the One Piece world's mechanics to its core. Kid's devil fruit could affect the One Piece world's magnetic fields, and why is this so important you must be wondering. Well it could fix a lot of things wrong in the One Piece world, like how the One Piece world's North and South blue aren't exactly in the north or south, it's at a 45° tilt from where the North and South should be. And when the North and South Blue are tilted back in place the New World, Grand Line and Red Line make a X just like on a treasure map. That's not all the, it's powers could affect the means of navigation that are required to navigate the Grand Line and New World, and it can also could explain why their are so many Sea Kings in the Calm Belt. With Kids powers you could get rid of the magnetic fields that the Island's have that make it impossible for normal compasses to work there. Without those magnetic fields on the islands in the Grand Line and New World animals that use the magnetic field to navigate won't get lost or confused on where they have to go. I believe that Sea Kings that use this form of navigation don't know what to do when they encounter the Grand Line and New World, so they are lost in the Calm Belt trying to figure out where to go. That leads to another theory that if the magnetic fields were put on those islands for a reason as if to create a barrier of dangerous sea monsters and make it impossible for anybody inside the Grand Line and New World to properly navigate it or to leave it, it's possible that the kingdoms that were allied with Joy Boy we're all located in the New World or Grand Line which means the world government on purposefully segregated them from the rest of the world using Kids awaken Devil fruit in the past. Which would mean that Laugh Tale doesn't have a magnetic field which would make it impossible to pick up on Log-Pose, and it would also make it impossible to use a normal compass to find the island because it's in the New World or Grand Line. Kid's devil fruit awakening could have affected Zunesha built in navigational compass, when Kid used his awakening on Big Mom because it might of changed the whole island's magnetic fields, allowing Zunesha to finally find Wano. Which would explain also why they are so shocked that the elephant managed to find its destination that it set out for thousands of years ago. Somebody on the World Government's side had this fruit and used to me it harder for anyone to find the ancient Kingdom and the true history of the world by making it almost impossible to navigate through important areas that are needed to be navigated through in order to find truth of the world. But this is just crazy theory I thought of...
Maybe the fruit that was renamed was Kidd's. The current name for it is something like the Magn-Magn no mi, but maybe it was originally the Pose-Pose no mi.
I honestly thought that you were voing with the route that Kidd became an orphan due to the mass infanticide that the WG did to prevent Roger's bloodline to be continued. But, Kidd somehow managed to survive and since shanks was part of Roger's crew, he pinned the hatred of losing his family to him
I always thought that the reason why kidd had "inconsistent" motivations was because his storyline was maybe given to law due to his popularity and you can kinda see that kid's motivations on saboady can be an early version of motivations of today's law

@@harsh_1910 Don't think so. Was he initially way more shady than he is currently portrayed to be? Yes. Did he start out as more of a rival to Luffy? Totally. But, antagonistic? No. Remember, he went out of his way to not only rescue Luffy from Marineford, but to save his life with his devil fruit and then drop him off in a place where he could recover properly after making sure that he was okay. Unless Oda changed his mind about Law five seconds after introducing his character, I don't think much of his role in the story was stolen from Kid. Kid was way more antagonistic to Luffy. He's being written as more of a rival than an ally. Certainly way more than Law ever was. Law doesn't even want to be the Pirate King.

Well, all Supernova were spontanous created. But I have to admit that as a Kid fan and hearing how Oda had plans for him, I am quite disappointed with Kids powers. He has all this potential but still seems so... Weak.

I think he will adress all of the mysteries. It is not just him, he has assistants that help him draw and they may remind him and whatnot. His wife is also a fan. But more importantly, he never leaves loose ends. I feel like even in just an arc, he answers everything by the end of it. Sometimes even questions we didn't ask. I'm sure he has a board in his office where it says shows everything that needs to be revealed yet xD But indeed sometimes he contradict himself or leave some small detail unanswered but usually those are rare and unimportant
My theory : Roger asked Shanks to tell his whereabout and cooperate with world govt and navy for his execution, in order to get close and get informations from them. So world govt gave Shanks a thank you present (gomu2 fruit) for his accomplishment and have a "special" connection with him until now. And Shanks living his life with half regret, that's why he often goes to random places. Then my biggest guess is, Eustass Kid sees him as a right hand of world govt, so he wants to kill him for avenging his dead parents while he's still a baby ("hunt for Ace event") Sorry for my bad English ✌🏻

Maybe Shanks wasn't stopping Kaido (during Marineford) in order to keep things in check maybe he did it because Whitebeard has to die and Kaido's interference could have complicated everything.
Just an idea that came up: what if the gorosei accept shanks because he knows what happened in the void century and may have come to the conclusion that the world being toppled by luffy actually isn't worth the casualties? Thus luffy is some kind of "sin of the past" thing for shanks that he just let's run wild because he likes luffy as a person

Could just be that Shanks was a part of the Roger crew and Kidd holds Roger responsible for the children massacre. He probably grew up without children around his own age cuz the government killed them all. If he knows about Shanks connection to the world nobles and roger, then he's an prime target for revenge maybe.
Jewelry Bonnie is also from the south blue, she’s also around the age of 24 also. Akainu said to jewelry “that he was sick that she escaped from the world government”. The conclusion I just discovered is she was likely one of the children that was taken around the Roger child search. Making me believe that the government didn’t really kill all the kids but secretly made them into soldiers, likely CP0 maybe.

Good video. After watching it, I do believe that there's more to Kid's character than what most people take him for. Although the captain John theory may seem interesting, I am not that convinced that he had any ties to Kid unless Buggy appears with more information about him! As for the ties with Shanks, I am now starting to wonder that if Kid does know some unjust things about Luffy's idol more than Luffy himself does, then what are the chances that Kid will tell Luffy about him the same way Vergo talked to Law about how he knew Doflamingo's past before learning about it in Dressrosa? But these are just my opinion, I only wanted to know what you think?
Hi @liam, i just had a thought. Shanks is 39 years old and 39 years ago roger ended the rocks pirates. maybe, in that fight a world noble dies while protecting his son(shanks). When Roger saw this, he felt as if he had failed in stopping them in time, so he took shanks under his wings and later on when he was old and matured enough, he told shanks of his heritage. After his death, when shanks became strong and well known, shanks met the gorosei(in secret) and told him about the truth but said that he isn't interested in his heritage and continues to be a pirate(a lot like doffy but not as volatile as him). This is why the gorosei have some respect for him and regard him to an extent(to even meet him in the reverie). just a thought, but it does make sense. As always, love your work, cheers!!!!!

While we're on the thought of historical connections, I think it may be possible that Shanks is akin to something of a privateer. It would make sense as to why the elder stars as well as Sengoku were so accepting of Shank's actions. I don't think this is completely the case as with how the Warlords got their status, I think it's more of a matter that Shanks got recruited by the World Government after Roger's death to become a fully fledged pirate.
I would like to say hi and want to theorize what race is Imu sama is. I believe that Imu sama is not immortal but is long lived race Elf. Elf in one piece does not even mention , considering that one piece world have many race however oda Sensei did not even mention this.

i dont think its something that goes that deep, as you said, Kid was supposed to be something of an anti-luffy, so i guess him going after shanks(someone highly related to luffy) would be more fuel in creating an antagonism between luffy and kid. And also Shanks beeing the only other emeperor who is not on luffys path to be defeated.
Just a random thought what if oda is setting up characters to take over the 4 emperors spots to people in the worst generation. So like white beards spot got taken over by black beard, so with the connections with shanks and kid maybe he can take over his spot one in the future, and with kaido and luffy will in a way take his spot because he is kaido is the leader of the beast pirates and luffys gear moves are named after beast (before luffy becomes the pirate king XD), and with kid and law taking out big mom then Law could be in line in taking her spot with the connected of big mom taking peoples life or soul with her powers and law saving lifes with his abilities
My assumption has always been that Kid wanted to take down an Emporer. He chose Shanks first at random, and now after that painful defeat, he's obsessed with settling that score with Shanks before moving on to the other Emporers.
I always thought Kid went after Shanks because Shanks was seen by a lot of people as the weakest emperor because he is the one with the lowest bounty and the one everyone knows doesn't have a devil fruit. So Kid probably thought that Shanks would be easy to take down
4th possibly more simple option: Kid’s island was ravaged in search of Roger’s son, Shank’s was a member of Roger’s crew and therefore is incidental focus of Kid’s blame alongside the World Government, possibly being led to that belief by the Stars to directly deal with Shanks. (Not caught up yet so I do not know if it has since been revealed)
Shanks could still be a father. Being 16 at time is unlikely to be an issue. Modern society standard questions it, but still not uncommon in these days either, lets not forget! The obsession against him can be explained that when he did some research against emperors - because unlike Luffy he at least have some vague plans - it can be reported that he or someone else saw Shanks casually going to Marijoa... So while the other emperors would trigger a world war with that action, this redhead casually walks in... so thats sus...
Ploy twist shanks might be a villain.. remember shanks met with the Gorosei to talk about a particular pirate before the Gorosei tagged luffy with the death tag. I think shanks had something to do with it.
Speaking of Jaguar I can't help but feel like his big ole D narratively means more for Kuzan than it does for Robin. Unless she is revealed to be a D with the will inherited from him, his status as a D card holder doesn't mean much for her honestly. The impact of her backstory works perfectly fine if he wasn't a D. But with him being a D, that makes Kuzan and Sakazuki the only non D holders to have directly killed a D holder, which is a big deal.
Akainu became in his Prime as Marine Admiral whenever MarineFord War happened; Akoiji was in his Prime whenever the destruction of O’Hara happened, so it doesn’t seem that far fetched for Akainu and Akoiji killing both famous D Clan members at their ages.

I mean one... incredible minor detail to support the Cpt. John theory is that Kid's Epitaph is "Captain" the same as John- So ol' Eustass does have a connection to John and inherited his epitaph, sorta like how Sanji's Epitaph is a slight variation on Zeff's

Shanks took Kid's arm because Shanks has a thing for arms. The experience made Kid have to grow past the loss similar to how Kuma set back the Straw Hats.

What if shanks is like ging from hunter x hunter. When we are introduced to them we are suppose to respect them and know they are strong and important but they are actually really unliked by everybody.
I think there's a connection between why Kidd lost his arm and why he targeted Shanks in the first place. Kidd probably didn't care which emperor he took down, but thought Shanks probably would make the easiest target. He has the smallest crew, the lowest bounty (aside from Blackbeard, but he's too dangerous and unknown for a rookie to challenge) and of course, he's missing a fucking arm. My theory is, when Kidd and his crew got their proverbial shit pushed in by the Red Hair pirates Kidd's arm was cut off as a way to send him a message. Sort of saying "our captain rose to the rank of Emperor with one arm, why don't you see what it's like ya little shit?!"

I followed GLR back at 2019 and I can honestly say the improvement in editing, humour and GLR overall videos has improved significantly

One possibility is that Shanks actually defeated/killed John when he became a yonko. We know John was from the same generation as Kaido and BM, so it's not unlikely he was one of the emperors of the sea at the time of Shanks's rise to the top. perhaps he was the previous holder of the yonko slot that Shanks occupied. Which makes it interesteting because that means all four runner ups to the title of pirate king after Roger died were previous Rocks pirates.

There wasn't a force or phenomenon like the Yonko before them. Those 4 became the Yonko as they rose to that power but it wasn't an established thing in universe before that.
Hence Roger just being the pirate king. His age had 1 proper ruler.
Or Kidd is John's son and some of Shank's crew were originally part of John's crew. Shank's and John had a duel/ Davy back fight, Shanks won and took the crew mates. Or they mutinied against John to join Shanks, either way Kidd wants revenge.

I like Kidd, but it feels really weird that his Murders and Crimes against civilians are just kinda ignored outright by Luffy and others. He was introduced as having a high bounty specifically for being a sadist who tortured innocents.

to be honest, i've always thought that Shanks's ability to meet with the gorosei has less to do with some established connection between them, and more to do with the fact that this would essentially be a meeting between two heads of state. the gorosei control the world government, and shanks has his yonko territory, which is essentially a country all on its own, it's not under the WG. and also, he's incredibly powerful. once he's in the room with them... what can they possibly do about it? get a guard to escort him out? they're not idiots, they know that they cant just do that. they kind of have to just take him seriously because they know that it wouldn't be advantageous for them to essentially start a war that they dont need to. if shanks does have a connection to them, that's fine, i trust oda, but at the same time i dont think that would be necessary in order for that scene of him speaking to the gorosei to make sense.
My guess is that Oda accidentally revealed a photo of himself taken this decade.

I like the idea that Luffy wasn't the only kid shanks visited. What if shanks also went to Kidd but didn't deem him worthy of the straw hat. So Kidd is just out for revenge because his childhood hero didn't believe in him.

I really doubt it, I think Shanks visited Luffy because Ace was on the same island. Roger said his son should be the next pirate king and Shanks probably wanted to fulfill his former captain's wishes. When he went to Dawn Island, he found Luffy, who acted just like Roger and who Shanks deemed as worthy

Here's a theory I had thought of, it explains why Oda made Kid an important character that he intentionally added to the story. When you think about it and how his awakening could effect and change the One Piece world's mechanics to its core. Kid's devil fruit could affect the One Piece world's magnetic fields, and why is this so important you must be wondering. Well it could fix a lot of things wrong in the One Piece world, like how the One Piece world's North and South blue aren't exactly in the north or south, it's at a 45° tilt from where the North and South should be. And when the North and South Blue are tilted back in place the New World, Grand Line and Red Line make a X just like on a treasure map. That's not all the, it's powers could affect the means of navigation that are required to navigate the Grand Line and New World, and it can also could explain why their are so many Sea Kings in the Calm Belt. With Kids powers you could get rid of the magnetic fields that the Island's have that make it impossible for normal compasses to work there. Without those magnetic fields on the islands in the Grand Line and New World animals that use the magnetic field to navigate won't get lost or confused on where they have to go. I believe that Sea Kings that use this form of navigation don't know what to do when they encounter the Grand Line and New World, so they are lost in the Calm Belt trying to figure out where to go. That leads to another theory that if the magnetic fields were put on those islands for a reason as if to create a barrier of dangerous sea monsters and make it impossible for anybody inside the Grand Line and New World to properly navigate it or to leave it, it's possible that the kingdoms that were allied with Joy Boy we're all located in the New World or Grand Line which means the world government on purposefully segregated them from the rest of the world using Kids awaken Devil fruit in the past. Which would mean that Laugh Tale doesn't have a magnetic field which would make it impossible to pick up on Log-Pose, and it would also make it impossible to use a normal compass to find the island because it's in the New World or Grand Line. Kid's devil fruit awakening could have affected Zunesha built in navigational compass, when Kid used his awakening on Big Mom because it might of changed the whole island's magnetic fields, allowing Zunesha to finally find Wano. Which would explain also why they are so shocked that the elephant managed to find its destination that it set out for thousands of years ago. Somebody on the World Government's side had this fruit and used to me it harder for anyone to find the ancient Kingdom and the true history of the world by making it almost impossible to navigate through important areas that are needed to be navigated through in order to find truth of the world. But this is just crazy theory I thought of...

I honestly thought that you were voing with the route that Kidd became an orphan due to the mass infanticide that the WG did to prevent Roger's bloodline to be continued. But, Kidd somehow managed to survive and since shanks was part of Roger's crew, he pinned the hatred of losing his family to him
I always thought that the reason why kidd had "inconsistent" motivations was because his storyline was maybe given to law due to his popularity and you can kinda see that kid's motivations on saboady can be an early version of motivations of today's law

Remember, he went out of his way to not only rescue Luffy from Marineford, but to save his life with his devil fruit and then drop him off in a place where he could recover properly after making sure that he was okay.
Unless Oda changed his mind about Law five seconds after introducing his character, I don't think much of his role in the story was stolen from Kid.
Kid was way more antagonistic to Luffy. He's being written as more of a rival than an ally. Certainly way more than Law ever was. Law doesn't even want to be the Pirate King.

I think he will adress all of the mysteries. It is not just him, he has assistants that help him draw and they may remind him and whatnot. His wife is also a fan. But more importantly, he never leaves loose ends. I feel like even in just an arc, he answers everything by the end of it. Sometimes even questions we didn't ask. I'm sure he has a board in his office where it says shows everything that needs to be revealed yet xD But indeed sometimes he contradict himself or leave some small detail unanswered but usually those are rare and unimportant

My theory : Roger asked Shanks to tell his whereabout and cooperate with world govt and navy for his execution, in order to get close and get informations from them. So world govt gave Shanks a thank you present (gomu2 fruit) for his accomplishment and have a "special" connection with him until now. And Shanks living his life with half regret, that's why he often goes to random places. Then my biggest guess is, Eustass Kid sees him as a right hand of world govt, so he wants to kill him for avenging his dead parents while he's still a baby ("hunt for Ace event")

Just an idea that came up: what if the gorosei accept shanks because he knows what happened in the void century and may have come to the conclusion that the world being toppled by luffy actually isn't worth the casualties? Thus luffy is some kind of "sin of the past" thing for shanks that he just let's run wild because he likes luffy as a person

He probably grew up without children around his own age cuz the government killed them all. If he knows about Shanks connection to the world nobles and roger, then he's an prime target for revenge maybe.
Jewelry Bonnie is also from the south blue, she’s also around the age of 24 also. Akainu said to jewelry “that he was sick that she escaped from the world government”. The conclusion I just discovered is she was likely one of the children that was taken around the Roger child search. Making me believe that the government didn’t really kill all the kids but secretly made them into soldiers, likely CP0 maybe.

Good video. After watching it, I do believe that there's more to Kid's character than what most people take him for.
Although the captain John theory may seem interesting, I am not that convinced that he had any ties to Kid unless Buggy appears with more information about him!
As for the ties with Shanks, I am now starting to wonder that if Kid does know some unjust things about Luffy's idol more than Luffy himself does, then what are the chances that Kid will tell Luffy about him the same way Vergo talked to Law about how he knew Doflamingo's past before learning about it in Dressrosa?

Hi @liam, i just had a thought. Shanks is 39 years old and 39 years ago roger ended the rocks pirates. maybe, in that fight a world noble dies while protecting his son(shanks). When Roger saw this, he felt as if he had failed in stopping them in time, so he took shanks under his wings and later on when he was old and matured enough, he told shanks of his heritage. After his death, when shanks became strong and well known, shanks met the gorosei(in secret) and told him about the truth but said that he isn't interested in his heritage and continues to be a pirate(a lot like doffy but not as volatile as him). This is why the gorosei have some respect for him and regard him to an extent(to even meet him in the reverie). just a thought, but it does make sense. As always, love your work, cheers!!!!!

While we're on the thought of historical connections, I think it may be possible that Shanks is akin to something of a privateer. It would make sense as to why the elder stars as well as Sengoku were so accepting of Shank's actions. I don't think this is completely the case as with how the Warlords got their status, I think it's more of a matter that Shanks got recruited by the World Government after Roger's death to become a fully fledged pirate.

Just a random thought what if oda is setting up characters to take over the 4 emperors spots to people in the worst generation. So like white beards spot got taken over by black beard, so with the connections with shanks and kid maybe he can take over his spot one in the future, and with kaido and luffy will in a way take his spot because he is kaido is the leader of the beast pirates and luffys gear moves are named after beast (before luffy becomes the pirate king XD), and with kid and law taking out big mom then Law could be in line in taking her spot with the connected of big mom taking peoples life or soul with her powers and law saving lifes with his abilities

My assumption has always been that Kid wanted to take down an Emporer. He chose Shanks first at random, and now after that painful defeat, he's obsessed with settling that score with Shanks before moving on to the other Emporers.

I always thought Kid went after Shanks because Shanks was seen by a lot of people as the weakest emperor because he is the one with the lowest bounty and the one everyone knows doesn't have a devil fruit. So Kid probably thought that Shanks would be easy to take down
4th possibly more simple option: Kid’s island was ravaged in search of Roger’s son, Shank’s was a member of Roger’s crew and therefore is incidental focus of Kid’s blame alongside the World Government, possibly being led to that belief by the Stars to directly deal with Shanks. (Not caught up yet so I do not know if it has since been revealed)

The obsession against him can be explained that when he did some research against emperors - because unlike Luffy he at least have some vague plans - it can be reported that he or someone else saw Shanks casually going to Marijoa... So while the other emperors would trigger a world war with that action, this redhead casually walks in... so thats sus...
Ploy twist shanks might be a villain.. remember shanks met with the Gorosei to talk about a particular pirate before the Gorosei tagged luffy with the death tag. I think shanks had something to do with it.
Speaking of Jaguar I can't help but feel like his big ole D narratively means more for Kuzan than it does for Robin. Unless she is revealed to be a D with the will inherited from him, his status as a D card holder doesn't mean much for her honestly. The impact of her backstory works perfectly fine if he wasn't a D. But with him being a D, that makes Kuzan and Sakazuki the only non D holders to have directly killed a D holder, which is a big deal.
Akainu became in his Prime as Marine Admiral whenever MarineFord War happened; Akoiji was in his Prime whenever the destruction of O’Hara happened, so it doesn’t seem that far fetched for Akainu and Akoiji killing both famous D Clan members at their ages.

Wild theory; Shanks is Cipher Pol and he told the world government about Rouge and Ace. That's the only reason they knew to look for a baby
Hey,just wanted to say your such a good content creator I won't watch anyone else content on one piece. I'm just getting back into the manga after 6yrs. I find most people just speculate on weird stuff "they" think is right but you need a tin foil hat and follows no logic..your content is on a different level you give reference and reasons. Truly amazing man keep it up. Me and my nephew bond over your videos. He's autistic and has had a rough life. Since kid first said he had a grudge against shanks I always thought they were either brothers or father and son. It would make the most sense.

Shanks took Kid's arm because Shanks has a thing for arms. The experience made Kid have to grow past the loss similar to how Kuma set back the Straw Hats.
I truly believe Shanks STOLE Kid's left arm, and attached it to himself. Shanks being the CP0 agent in Wano is a possibility, based on the last quote of chapter 1042.

What if shanks is like ging from hunter x hunter. When we are introduced to them we are suppose to respect them and know they are strong and important but they are actually really unliked by everybody.
I think there's a connection between why Kidd lost his arm and why he targeted Shanks in the first place. Kidd probably didn't care which emperor he took down, but thought Shanks probably would make the easiest target. He has the smallest crew, the lowest bounty (aside from Blackbeard, but he's too dangerous and unknown for a rookie to challenge) and of course, he's missing a fucking arm. My theory is, when Kidd and his crew got their proverbial shit pushed in by the Red Hair pirates Kidd's arm was cut off as a way to send him a message. Sort of saying "our captain rose to the rank of Emperor with one arm, why don't you see what it's like ya little shit?!"
You know...I never ONCE considered that Kid could be Shank's kid .. But dude... It's in my head now.
it could just as well be that kid went after shanks just because. maybe he thought shanks was weaker than the other yonko cuz shanks is a human and not a semi-giant thing like BM or an oni monster like kaido
either way, shanks may have ripped his arm off cuz of xebec. imo, he was looking for a kid that inherited roger's will and he saw that in luffy. maybe he is also on the lookout for inheritors of xebec's will. his candidat for that would obviously be BB. but it could be that when he met kid, that he had doubts. kid was a supernova on the rise, he was brutal and merciless in his eyes and he wanted to take down a yonko, in other words he also sought for power.
so maybe shanks wasn't sure if kid inherited xebec's will or not, so he ripped his arm off to try and maybe make him give up on his dreams. but he let him live in case he wasn't the one who inherited xebec's will
or it could just be that classic shanks hurt him cuz kid hurt his friends. maybe kid mercilessly executed some of his fodder pirates or maybe he injured one of his commanders and shanks or some other strong crew member ripped his arm off
