    Great video, I’ve been wondering about getting a mother bottle set up for a little while now, didn’t know you could do it gravity feed and damn does it look easy!
    Looks like I’ve gotta go hit up summit now 🤣

      The biggest pain of it is just getting your nitrous bottles cold cold. Having to fill a cooler up with ice and putting the bottles in there for an extended amount of time. The pump is definitely a more convenient way but I’ve been told from people who use them ALOT that every year you’re rebuilding the pumps and it gets expensive. I run an air/water intercooler and seem to always end up with extra ice so for me, I just refill bottles the day after my track outing while I’ve still got the cooler full of ice.

      @@LoganbuiltRaceShop Having some dry ice on hand would probably be the best option, or a dedicated bottle chiller set up but that may not be as easy to haul around to the race track as a cooler haha
      Have you experimented with pure oxygen? Since nitrous is 40% oxygen, pure oxygen should be more effective, unless the nitrous is needed in the blend to make it more effective

    Good video brother but a couple things are incorrect, on mother bottles it really doesn’t matter wether there’s a siphon tube or not, using the gravity fill method or with a pump. I started out with just a transfer kit and I used both style bottles multiple times, now have a pump station and I use both bottles also. Pump just makes it easier to get those last couple of #’s in the bottle without having to wait for it too cool off and chill it again. It is better to get the bottle without a siphon tube and flip them over if you don’t have a pump though, flows a lot easier and takes less heat and freezing. I recommend investing in a cheap deep freezer. 2 hours was the sweet spot for me and it would pretty much get 10lbs in it.

      Youve been lied to. Theres no such thing as gravity feeding with high pressure liquid and gasses. The liquid goes where the vapor pressure pushes it. Doesn't matter if storage tank is 30' above receiver tank, once gas pressure equalizes, no more liquid flows.

    My question if you could answer it would be how much does a mother bottle run and how many times can you refill a smaller bottle off of the mother

    • @LoganbuiltRaceShop
      @LoganbuiltRaceShop  Год назад

      It’s going to vary on where you live and the availability of nitrous suppliers in your area. Around here, a mother bottle is about $500 and then the nitrous is around $4 per pound. The mother bottle holds about 55lbs of useable nitrous so you’re going to be spending about $220 or so for the nitrous. By the time you get a decent scale, lines/filter/valves and bottle heater I would figure on an initial investment of around $1000. But after that up front cost you’re only paying $4 per lb for nitrous and filling at your convenience. A local shop to us charges $14 per lb to fill your bottles so if each of my 4 bottles need 8lbs of nitrous that’s about $450. On my particular set up I can get about 12 passes out of all 4 bottles depending on how many spool ups I do. So after around 25 or so passes the upfront cost of the filling set up will be covered and every pass after that you’re saving $10 per lb in my case.

    So it do the pressure balance like this I will need a bottle with or without a siphon tube?

    • @LoganbuiltRaceShop
      @LoganbuiltRaceShop  2 года назад +1

      Yes that’s correct. Let your mother bottle supplier know that you’ll not be using a pump and using the mother bottle upside down and they will be sure you get the correct bottle

    • @ReyesBuilt

      Doesn’t matter, it’s better without a siphon tube because it just flows easier. I’ve done it with both siphon tube and without

      @@ReyesBuiltthat's in your head dude. With or without tank straw doesn't effect flow. Hose size and tank pressures affect liquid flow.

      Not something you need to worry about. Just make sure you getting nitrous from reputable source, your receiver tanks are under 5yrs old and NEVER heat with flames.
