This has to be the greatest political commentary channel on RUclips. All the videos are as well researched as they are animated. The content makes me think and the A E S T H E T I C S get me off.
I think suggesting that this channel of political thinking is an unequivocally true source of information, like the science and maths that Vsauce presents, kind of contradicts the whole point of this channel which is considering all arguments and perspectives without regarding one as the 'truth'.
I find it more troubling that both the left and the right care so much about what an entertainer' s political stance is. It's greatly telling. We seek validation of our thoughts from those who are popular, those that are rich, and place them upon an undeserved pedestal as if their worth is inherently superior to someone else's.
I don't need validation from celebrities but it does feel nice when a celebrity i like reciprocates the same beliefs as me. And even if they do not, I won't condemn them or let it cloud my own judgement since that is unreasonable. I have a bigger problem with people not being able to express free thought that doesn't align with what they are expected to.
Ch Sung I can at least understand your sentiments. The main problem I have, with this Kayne West predicament especially, is that the right is so seemingly starved for attention from the entertainment industry that they'll jump to the side of anyone that throws them the bone. Meanwhile the left, in its rigidity, is ever quick to demonize those that do not agree with their platform 100%. My opinion on the matter is that it's ridiculous to judge someone based solely on a single component of their entire being (their political stance) and that it is asinine to use someone else's opinion to verify your own. If your ideas need the approval of Kayne West to be of any worth then they aren't exactly your ideas.
It has nothing to do with the right begging for attention like this. It's that we recognize that Kanye has enormous influence. Black support for trump doubled after Kanye's tweets. We recognize (some of us) the importance of culture. It's not about him and his opinion that we are desperate for because we desperately want his validation; it's the weight that his opinion has in the culture. I hate that he has that much influence; it shows how degraded our culture is; but it's reality and I'll take what I can get to help the psychotic modern democrats from winning anything and plunging us into socialism.
It's not that either end cares for the opinion of the entertainer's (which I might challenge why we shouldn't; not follow, but care perhaps is different.) but that either side views those opinions as highly influential to popular opinion (even if people are more critical than expected) and therefore they have a vested interest in undermining those opinions, and or controlling them.
Just a guy from the other side of the political spectrum here. I'd just like to say I really enjoy your videos. This is an excellent video. However, I fell as though your views on Kendrick Lamar are uninformed. For every line Kendrick has about the system, there are two about personal responsibility or the shortcomings of the black race. He, as Kanye does, understands that it is a combination, and this in fact is the thesis of all three of his albums. I beg you to reconsider and perhaps clarify.
I wish I found this video sooner so I could support this sentiment. Lamar's concerns in his music are very much introspective and sometimes self-deprecating. Especially in TPAB, he constantly berates himself for losing touch with his family and home after rising to fame and criticizes himself, and he largely credits that loss to his struggle with his identity as a black public figure.
Yeah, but that wouldn't fit this content creator's narrative. His point is that you can only be a "free thinker" if you reject racism as false. Kendrick Lamar is too nuanced for this guy to make his point.
Yeah, kendrick is a very nuanced thinker although he often portrays different viewpoints very bluntly for artistic purposes, often portraying different characters. Kendrick got a lot of shit from the left for some of his lines on tpab
I love your videos and the way they are constructed makes the listener not only hear what you are saying but thinks about it as well. I love your vids, keep it up!
Kanye was very clear in what he stated and meant. It can be heard in many different clips, interviews, & specific releases on his channel when speaking with different people, as well as in text. Imo, he is aware that he is a stone dropped in the pond
The best thing a guy like him can do is to arrange his words as such that they can't easily be taken out of context by someone bent on manipulating his intent. Someone like Jordan Peterson makes it difficult to do this, but Kanye shoots more from the hip.
Watching the interviewers struggle to deal with Lil' Wayne is just phenomenal. He (wisely, as a black entertainer) doesn't deny anyone else's experience, and he doesn't insist that racism is dead, he just calmly says that he's never experienced it. Whatever the reason, you would *think* that having a black person in any situation say he's never experienced racism would be a huge win. Instead, his interviewers try desperately to get him to be oppressed. A free, unopressed black man who has never experienced racism is both confusing and actually problematic for the people who claim that they want free, unoppressed black people.
I don't know if Kendrick believes in "White Privilege", a song like "Blacker the Berry" shows that he sees a problem within the community itself, and that the stances many like himself may have can be hypocritical. Other than that, amazing video
"I know that Obama was heaven-sent, but ever since Trump won, it proved that I could be president." That floored me. I have to check this guy out. This was a great video. I think that there was a point, hard to say quite where, that oppression of black people became more of a crutch than a reality. For the black people who feel insecure, one side is telling them they are victims and their failures are the fault of white patriarchy, the other side is telling them their failings are their own fault and responsibility. I think this minority of black people can not psychologically confront the latter reality and so they hold steadfast to the victim narrative. They are filled with venom and spite and they have a large portion of the population under their sway, either believing their narrative or out of fear of their viscous spite. I prefer to invoke Nietzsche here rather than Dostoevsky: --- "Let it be very justice for the world to become full of the storms of our vengeance"-thus do they talk to one another. "Vengeance will we use, and insult, against all who are not like us"-thus do the tarantula-hearts pledge themselves. "And 'Will to Equality'-that itself shall henceforth be the name of virtue; and against all that hath power will we raise an outcry!" Ye preachers of equality, the tyrant-frenzy of impotence crieth thus in you for "equality": your most secret tyrant-longings disguise themselves thus in virtue-words! Fretted conceit and suppressed envy-perhaps your fathers' conceit and envy: in you break they forth as flame and frenzy of vengeance. ---

nothing really even that crazy about how kanye is thinking, to me its sad that his kind of thinking is seen as crazy and different, when in actuality he is that grounded he sees past all the bullshit.
That interview with Lil Wayne was so shameful. I couldn't believe how the interviewers kept trying to push their views, the only acceptable view of the day, on him. It shows clearly their desire to continue the victim group and the constant blaming of other groups to keep the plan going. Only in a place like the West that so full of compassion and dedication to justice would doing everything to make your own group look constantly unsuccessful because of "reasons" be a strategy that would yield results. Imagine the people in Venezuela using this strategy.
