Tbh this might be the best tuned K5LA I’ve ever heard. It sounds out of tune in a way but also great. Definitely wayy better than an 80’s cast. Sounds beautiful at 1:25.
Now that I think about it I actually think that these are the best and most beautiful K5LA horns that Amtrak has had! Better than the F40 K5LA’s in my opinion!!
I would agree with you. I love the 80s K5LAs but the 90s horns were amazing. When you look up old genesis and dash 8 videos they were completely insane sounding.
Cool bell setup bracket. I was usin steel fittings and over time started to get flakes of rust in my horns and valves. Switched to brass and 300 psi pvc and solved the problem. Do ya got a problem with steel fittings?
locomotive horn adict thanks! so far I haven’t had any issues but that’s something I worry about also. I have made a habit of checking each fitting and nipple inside. I’ve noticed that there are often little flakey pieces that are loosely attached that I’m able to easily break off. I’m sure ive missed some at one point or another though.
I'm curious about how you attached your graham white valve to the inside of your truck. I see it's attached to flat bar, but where and how do you have the flat bar attached? Photos would be appreciated
Delaware Train Videos if you read the description I explain that I actually no longer have the GW mounted in the truck. It now actually hangs behind the sliding rear window and I put a broom stick over the GW handle to reach up to the driver seat. The broom stick basically sits over my right shoulder and I can pull it down to blow the horns. But when I did have it mounted in the truck I picked up a small piece of flat metal at the hardware store and painted it. I found a mounting point on the floor of the truck for the seats. All I did was pull that bolt out and re attach it with my bracket for the GW. If you’re on IG I can send you some photos
I’ll try to do a small video explaining how to get the solenoids piped for the quill. Or I actually believe JJgravy has a video explaining exactly how to do that also.
Is this a P42 horn? I think so.. tbh In my opinion the older p42 horns sounded way better than the f40s k5la horns! Soo beautiful with the echoes!! I love the sound as it passes by at 1:12!
@@graphtonix6607 How do you expect to find the exact horn off an exact unit. If 369 has been scrapped then it's gone forever. If not, then it's probably still on it.

@@sepa2401 it’s a 12” drop hitch just installed upside down. When I had my old truck which was a 2500 it was higher up off the ground and only required a 2” drop hitch. I love that steel bell, it's in perfect tune, and lovely K5LA horn! Cool setup and great video!
Thanks buddy 👍🏻
Awesome setup! the bell and k5la sounds excellent!
Thanks buddy!
Magnificent rig mate, really well put together plumbing too.
We Got Air. Thanks my friend. Appreciate that.

Just record the audio and put it in trainz

Where can you buy that buttons for the horn and bell? Also where did you buy the bell?
That bell is on the New York City subway work locomotives
Where did you find the bell and nod setup
I made everything from separate parts. Button, solenoid, contactor, etc.

Yes I mounted the bell on the hitch where the ball would normally be.
