Definitely cool asf!! I've found quite a bit of fossils throughout my life (vacationing my whole childhood near the fossil ledges and coast of the great lakes - tons of coral/ arthropods /bivalves) But never found anything close to this large of crystals inside!! 😳 I'm still amazed

Hi Brian, if you're digging in Florida just keep an extra eye with Matrix because of the alligators as they tend to prefer small mammals as a nice snack and l, we don't want that to happen with adorable Matrix guy

Now that is an amazing place to collect not only crystals but crystals inside fossilized shells!! I had to laugh at Matrix showering people with the dirt, did he find anything though lol? Matrix is better than a shovel or pick in the material there and to see him in his boat was a real treat. Those whelk shells were huge compared with the ones I have found on the beaches in the UK, and I love the different shades of honey in the crystals. What a wonderful treat for New Year's day afternoon Bryan, thank you so much for posting it, for a while there I was in sunny Florida not in dark frosty England where outside is below freezing, at least I am tucked away nice and warm lol. 8:10 "It's just a whole other world in there". That's exactly how it feels when you look at various crystals, from the little glass marbles we used as kids, through to geodes and this whelk shell. Not to mention, some of the exceptional agates and opal that look like seascapes and skyscapes.9:23 Definitely scallops. Cockles tend to be rounded like that but without the ridging.

I never realized how many gators r n Florida until we moved here a few years ago. We r n a subdivision and I went out to get in my car and had a gator laying right under the drivers side door in my driveway. Haha
