Wow what a fabulous film! We get Sparrowhawks in our garden several times a day but just fleeting glimpses. Fantastic to see such a detailed insight into their lives. Thank you. Excellent work.
I love hawks. I've been feeding a Red-Shouldered hawk family for almost 15 years and I have seen many generations come and go. Amazing birds. Never saw a Sparrowhawk nest before and they are beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful film Steven.... the quality of the filming and intimacy you have captured of such a shy secretive bird disguises the time, fieldwork and effort involved to achieve such results...8 weeks of pleasurable but hard work for you have resulted in a quality production. Congratulations indeed...!!!
Very impressive, such a glimpse into the life of an elusive bird. A pair nested in the high trees behind my house. You heard them, but rarely saw them, the female would fly at around dusk, when it was almost dark. Thank you!
This is a really beautiful and it was awesome to see the chicks hatching then fledgling and thank you for sharing this! And I must also say, the quality of the video itself is just superb!
Fantastic film and soundtrack, just amazing how everyone of the chick's survived, both parent bird's did a fantastic job, looking forward to the next film.
My favourite of prey captured perfectly in the most natural sheeting and behaviour, better than the BBC loved it thank you so much, Peter Scott yes that is my name
And again i have to say, fantastic work!! I like to see how the parents fly to the nest and away, like the scene at 15:23 👍 And how the male throws the food and she catches it, a really good team!
Excellent work - as usual Steven. The video shots are stunning and the fieldcraft to get them is really impressive. Must have taken you weeks of planning and research. Well done that man.
Hello, Wowwww....this is an excellent complete movie of you!!! This must have cost you a lot of time and effort to make all these wonderful shots.Certainly one of the best movies i have ever seen and that includes the BBC Documentaries. There is so much beauty in it......Greetings Gijs
When I was a boy, these were really preyed upon by the local games keepers, so was I, as I used to shoot partridge without their permission. Now I don't shoot anything, and I only try to take pictures. I have a few photos of Sparrow Hawks, but nothing as good as these great job and two really good parents.
You spelled accipiter wrong😂 absolutely fantastic video with incredible footage. The best one on youtube I believe. Theres that one “sparrowhawk Island” but its not on youtube . Very well done👏
The film is awesome, Steve! I was watching it with a great pleasure and admired it. It shows many aspects of the sparrowhawks` life. I suppose there were 3 or more cameras at work. 6 chicks is maximum that I`ve ever seen.
Fantastic video of my favorite genus of avians. Did we lose one as I could only count 5 heads after the third week? Or did I simply miscount? Reminded me of my childhood in Glasgow, spending endless hours in the Cathkin Braes woods. Thank you.
Really incredibly great shots! May I know what technique you used? I've been studying the species for years and have published a few sparrowhawk videos on my channel, but the videos on your channel can't be compared, simply wonderful insights into the life of sparrowhawks!
thankyou soo much! I install a gopro 8 At nest with a power cable running down the tree.I have a large battery at the bottom which keeps it recording for 8 hours a day lasting aprpx a week! I then get the videos using wifi on my phone. This means there is minimal disturbance.
