I'd add a couple of good things - Omaha is a giant sports hub despite not having pro teams in the major sports. College World Series & Big 10 baseball tournament, Creighton basketball, Omaha Stormchasers (Royals AAA affiliate), UNO & Lancers hockey, and also now pro volleyball with the Supernovas. It is often host to well attended NCAA or Olympic trials as well. In addition, many neighborhoods have a favorite/featured NFL team bar & grill and you also have all the Husker sports just down the road. Add to that a world class zoo, Jocelyn and Durham museums, a number of great music venues, Lauritzen Gardens, the Community Playhouse, & Holland/Orpheum all host great cultural events. You also have great annual community events like Shakespeare and Jazz on the Green, so there is more to do and see than you might think. Another advantage is the cost of living is quite affordable compared to either coast or larger midwestern cities like Chicago or Minneapolis. As a seafood lover, I would agree it is difficult but not impossible. Plank, Isla Del Mar, Bonefish Grill, & Sandpoint are a little bit high end but there is also Shuck's or Cajun places like Arcadian Grill or a Taste of New Orleans. You can also find pretty good seafood dishes at many of the Latin American or Italian restaurants. On the negative side: if you are a homeowner, property taxes are outrageous.
