2006. I was in my senior year high school. Wanted these so bad. During those times, they just released some dope non OG colorways! Man what a time ! Simpler times and fun times waiting in line and meeting new people without the fights and nonsense. Needless to say, I never got a pair but I might aim for these this year. Took me back back right to high school. Man!

Yessir. These and the burgundy 5 LS were Foot Action exclusives. The apparel that went with both LS joints were 🔥👍🏼. When I’m in a bad mood, I usually listen to music. If I do decide to watch RUclips vids, I watch old videos and or food related vids.

My go to for "pick me up" is watching skits/scenes from the 80s/90s shows I enjoyed as a kid (some I probably shouldn't have watched to begin with LOL):

My pick-me-up is a movie - “D2 The Mighty Ducks.” So nostalgic and fun. A lot of times I’ll just have it on in the background while I’m doing things around the house and that alone will help me get out of a mood haha.

I remember when I was in 5th grade when the Jordan 5's and 6's released. I remember the 6's being too hard and the 4's hurting pinky toes so the best choices was the Jordan 5 and Jordan 3
Unless it's a collab or OG colorway (or super limited), I honestly don't see any Jordan selling out right away. Fact that the olive 4s are STILL sitting 3 months later is all the proof you need. Honestly, SB dunks are.the only sure thing nowadays from nike or JB

Im loving the nostalgia factor with so many of those early to mid 2000s Js retroing again the last few years ; very early into JB's foray into non-OG colorways. Thunder 4s , Chambray 7s , Burgundy 5s and now these Olive 5s etc. Problem for me with 5s i consider more a middle of the road silhouette and a colorway like these not as wearable for me anymore compared to when i originally got them almost 20 years ago. I do like that JB replicated the texture on the material close to the OG. I just know similar to the Burgundy 5s where the nostalgia and being on sale got me to circle back and grab them ; probably the same will happen here and will not wear these much the same way i haven't worn the Burgundys much at all since i bought those. If i had to guess like the Burgundys these will not be instant sell-outs and might eventually go on sale. But the earth-tones are quite popular now so we will see.

I graduated high school spring of 06. so when I iwent to college in the fall these released and i wasn't able to ever get them. but these are the last pair of 5s from that era ive always wanted. I got the grapes, the raging bulls, the Burgundy's, and now I have these. was able to grab them from footlocker today. so im excited to have them all together
I think these qualify as a classic AJ 5 at this point. So many people just love this colorway.

Can’t wait for these to drop. This colorway is FIRE. Love my burgundy 5’s too. 5’s don’t get enough credit. And the new cut of the toe box is waaaay better than the older models.

My go to videos are the Prince and Rick James skits of the "Chappelle Show".
The lines are because the color olive is really hard to dye evenly. So they put lines or checker patterns to hide inconsistent patches. I have a pair of olive leather boots from Caterpillar and a pair of Oboz with olive leather parts. They both have those lines.
I own the 2006 ones and now the new ones. Back then Nike wrote that they were an oiled suede…this time around the Nike site says mixture of suede and canvas. If I compare my pairs, the color is a bit different…the old ones being darker and actually look as if the were oiled or waxed. As I hardly wore mine back the, I would claim the color difference has little to do with age. I also think they are true to size, not bigger. My old ones are US 9, the new ones US 9,5 and the 9 fit a bit tighter…9,5 def. more comfortable. That orange lace lock thingy is def. different i. color…old one is lighter and has no Jordan…. Happy these are back!

I am with Chris on this, I prefer to listen to music when I am feeling down and it always helps. But I do not have a video(s) that I would watch, but anything like dog videos or blooper reels and such would probably help, just anything to lighten things up.

I usually watch WT reviews from the past, specially if it's from a time when I was in a good streak or something and that Kyrie 2 vid is from the year I became a father. I have watched a lot of times that vid, the Harden 1, the Penny 2 Atlantic blue, I really revisit a lot of your content as a bring me up, but, I have another channel that also had that same effect, it's called Crosgrove and has amazing NBA stories vids. The V's are my favorite Jordan shoe because had the OG white and reds back in HS 1990 (and I currently have the 2020 retro). But I'm not too into a lot of the later releases. There are some CWs that I do like but most are expensive and hard to get like the Michigan 5s. I eventually want to own all 4 of the OG CWs (Black metallic in particular) . I hope they all come out again in the next few years.

The material design is like a ripstop material similar to army fatigues ripstop material.

Had 2 pairs and these look great! Toe box don’t bother me on these. I have to go look in hand but I’m going to say from the video compares greatly to the original.

I’m about 90% sure that’s a leather nubuck with a full width texture applied by a rolling drum. Very similar to how some action leathers have a full-grain tumbled leather texture applied near the end of the manufacturing process.

The material looks like Grasscloth which is a collective term for fabric hand woven from natural plant fibres such as sisal, seagrass, arrowroot, bamboo and jute.
You have to be super careful with cleaning it DO NOT USE WATER!!! You will need to use a mild cleaner and blot

also, I don't care about these V's at all. they are fine, I guess, but hold no interest for me. not many of the non OG colorways for the V capture my attention. the 3 has a zillion colorways I like, but for some reason the 4 and 5 OG colors are my only faves.
