You guys have an awesome channel! Love to see more NZ content. Stewart Island was one of the first trips that I took when I moved to Christchurch. Didnt make it to Mason Bay, but I did the Rakiura track and it was great =)
Thanks man! Stewart Island is definitively a place where we wished we had even longer! 3 days was simply not enough! How long did you stay when you went there?
I reeeaaallly love Steward Island. It is one of the best places in NZ, even in the world. I wanna do the flight too in the future. Are there any other flights around Steward Island? (Invercargill/Steward Island excluded)
Great video, I have flown to Stewart Island 3 months ago from Invercargill Airport and we could have seen really amazing views that we won`t be able to see it again as I came from the other side of the world which is Turkey :) Anyway we also tried to spot some kiwi birds at night but we couldn`t any. Hopefully, we could have seen a couple of little blue penguins on the rocks around the wharf at night. They are so cute. By the way, your website helped us a lot to discover Stewart Island, thank you so much
Thank you for the kind words Murat! We have plans to see the Blue Penguins in a few days when hitting Dunedin, keep an eye up on our videos, this is coming out in a couple of weeks!
Haha, daym! Wrong hut! We heard so many around us while we were at the Mason Bay Hut but they were too well hidden! Don't worry, dreams did come true the next day while hiking... ruclips.net/video/ArZyvr4vkDU/видео.html
You didn';t see any kiwi birds, and that's why my wife and I did not do this activity. I foresaw it happening (or rather, not happening). I've been to enough zoos here in NZ to know that kiwis don't like human attention, they tend to disappear when people are around. The guide we had at Ulva Island told us that from time to time he sees wild kiwi on Ulva Island. You're lucky if you see them, not every guided tour is lucky enough.
Well... All I can say is check the following video (published this morning) where we leave the hut and head down the track ;) We love Ulva island, we'll visit it on our last day on Stewart Island, it's awesome!
Oh really awesome
Yeah, superb flight!

Options are very limited, especially at the moment :(
You have a better chance for approaching a kiwi with a low-light red torch :)
Yep very true! Good tip!

Should have gone to Doughboy hut. The resident kiwi pair kept us awake scrapping on the hut path

Who did you go with for your flight?
Heya, it was with the company called Stewart Island Flights :) Are you heading there soon?
@@NZPocketGuide Thanks! Yes! In about a month :)
