Richard Clayderman - born 28th December 1953

Here is another of my archive interviews with celebrities to mark their birthdays. 28th December is the birthday of the pianist, Richard Clayderman.
Since the 1970's, he has released numerous albums including the compositions of Paul de Senneville, Olivier Toussaint and Marc Minier, instrumental renditions of popular music, rearrangements of movie soundtracks, ethnic music, and easy-listening arrangements of popular works of classical music. He is popular in Asia and is noted by the Guinness Book of World Records as being "the most successful pianist in the world"

In this excerpt he begins by talking about how his life changed when Olivier Toussaint, a French record producer, and his partner Paul de Senneville, invited him to record a gentle piano ballad whic De Senneville had composed as a tribute to his baby daughter, Adeline.
