Taeyang showing up on Mino's stage makes Mino's stage more valuable and thus resulting in people loving it and choosing Mino over Blacknut. If for example CL showed up on Blacknuts stage and he still lost to Mino and Taeyang then i would see it as completely fair. If you have a hard time following i'll try to put it simple. Taeyang is there to attract people with his overwhelming status as a member of BigBang while blacknut doesn't really have anyone on his team on Taeyangs level, sure Jessi is popular but not as popular as Taeyang.

Mino, Bobby, B.I., Vernon, Zico etc. They are idols. San E was in JYP and no one refers to him as a idol. Zico is just respected by many rappers because of his underground influence.
Companies aside, who brought whom aside, I just liked Black Nut's performance better. When I hear a song in Korean, I usually rely on the performance and the beat first, because I don't speak the language. When the song is good, you don't need to understand the language. When I heard Mino's song, I FELT NOTHING. When I read Mino's lyrics, I have to say, I thought they were great, but the song itself left me cold. Black Nut's song, on the other hand, did the opposite. I felt his struggle, not only in his words, but his gestures and his movements. When Jessi took his sunglasses off and he started rapping I got chills. That was so powerful. Mino only won because he had Tae Yang duetting with him, which made it into more of a popularity contest rather than a contest about the level of rap quality. Black Nut was the clear winner in this battle, he had the lyrics and the flow and also made the song work with Jessi. The results were close even though Mino had Tae Yang, which shows how talented Black Nut really is.
now THIS is the blacknut that I was waiting for. the blacknut that's focused on his rap without any other unnecessary actions and whatnot that steer focus away from his raw talent in rapping. i'm glad he showed this side of him, and that people appreciate it and give him his much deserved acknowledgement.

Not gonna lie, I was rooting for Minho ever since I started watching the show but this is the first time I've noticed myself actually get into one of BN songs and performances fully. I really(x3) liked his performance is the Semi Finals! I loved both BN rap(enjoyed this one a bit more) and Minho's rap, In my opinion, both songs were amazing! Do I agree that there was some YG Bias thrown in a little bit?? uhhh yes...talking about the fans. This is all coming from a YG fan. Along with this, Mino's rap reminded me a little bit about what people were saying about Jay-Z song "Holy Grail". The rap was good, the rap was great but in the back of people's minds we were all waiting for Justin Timberlake's chorus to come back. I started thinking about how the rap would stand if they didn't have a ft. artist and i felt that BN rap would have been much stronger than Mino's. If that were the case maybe the results would have been different. Im really looking forward to what BN does in the future!
GOD DAEWOONG SLAYED!! He was robbed big time !! Didn't everyone hear audience chanting "God Daewoong" after his perf that left judges jaws dropped??? BUT I'm actually glad and fuckin proud of him. He poured everything and did what he truly wanted to do for once and showed everyone that he's not just Blacknut but Kim Daewoong as a person. I was bawling my eyes out at his parts on this ep.
I cannot believe he lost... he deserves to win SMTM4. I mean, just listen to his rap and watch this video, you can feel his stage presence and the symbolism. The flow and the story he is trying to say are a perfect combination here. I cannot believe he lost over public votes...

Not that they're foreigners, not even that they can't understand Korean, which limits their ability to fully comprehend and appreciate Korean lyrics (its not a matter of translation, its a matter of understanding the wordplay, a vital part of poetry ie rap) They don't know ANYTHING about the scene. No serious rap fan in Korea doesn't know Black Nut. He's a rising star in the underground that built his name on pushing the envelope in terms of what a musician can say and do in Korea. It bugs me when outsiders that cant even be bothered to know basics of the scene come out in droves and act like they know something. All this patronizing "he's really apologetic and a think he grew as a person, i hope he does well" bullshit. The ignorance is annoying as fuck and SMTM had just made it worse. Kpops been trying to extort the shit out of hip hop culture for a few years now. Fake ass "hip hop" groups like IKON and others are popping up left and right and weak "rappers" are giving the genre a bad name outside the underground. It's hard to watch a bunch of artists work get used and sullied knowing the work they put in. It blows man.

Guys just admit it: Both Mino and Blacknut are great rappers and did flawlessly this time. In fact the final 4 all did well so theres no point comparing them. Whoever wins isn't that important, since all of them have gained something and we audiences sure had a great time listening to those impressive raps.
first time i watch an SMTM episode and cried. damn, Black Nut! such good lyrics! the music was no bid deal, but the lyrics, so strong! and first time i didn't care who would win between Mino and Black Nut. hip-hop was the true winner here.
mino's performance was good, but imo this was better. if we're judging rappers, blacknut was the better man this round. I don't understand either of the songs, but you can tell there's a kind of storytelling in this song. he's conveying his emotions well, it's raw and direct, it doesn't feel as repetitive as mino's.. he really is talented and it's a shame he lost out on the finals. good luck and all the best blacknut

since i had read a lot of comments i must leave mine too. lol first of all: i'm not korean and i speak very little of it, so i didnt understand all the lyrics at first listen. i paid attention to the flow, the music and the ability of staying on stage (if u know what I mean) and then i went and read the lyrics. i liked both blacknut and mino's songs. personally I preferred Mino's, because i find his rap more...appealing to the sound? even if i didnt understand everything i felt trapped into his rap, i knew he was telling something about himself, and also the melody was very pleasing to listen. he brought taeyang in the show, okay. but the song, the melody, the lyrics are all from mino, so he IS showing his true skills. he just happens to cant sing, so he reverted to someone from his agency. hell, i would've done it too! then, talking about blacknut's song. i enjoyed it, but somewhere in the middle at first it got boring (i still didnt read the lyrics) and i felt that way until jessi appeared to spice up the mood. after reading the translation i appreciated it more, still i think mino's rap, even if technically it is not as good as blacknut, it's more pleasing to listen. even the flow of the song. blacknut's was kind of... messy? also to say that jessi is HELLA popular in the underground khiphop, surely more than taeyang! lol ill end this here saying that they both did a good job. but dont throw shit at mino only because he used his hyung's help. he has skills and you all can see it, no denying. he is worth of winning, and also winning the program.

If for example CL showed up on Blacknuts stage and he still lost to Mino and Taeyang then i would see it as completely fair. If you have a hard time following i'll try to put it simple. When I hear a song in Korean, I usually rely on the performance and the beat first, because I don't speak the language. When the song is good, you don't need to understand the language. When I heard Mino's song, I FELT NOTHING. When I read Mino's lyrics, I have to say, I thought they were great, but the song itself left me cold. Black Nut's song, on the other hand, did the opposite. I felt his struggle, not only in his words, but his gestures and his movements. When Jessi took his sunglasses off and he started rapping I got chills. That was so powerful. Mino only won because he had Tae Yang duetting with him, which made it into more of a popularity contest rather than a contest about the level of rap quality. Black Nut was the clear winner in this battle, he had the lyrics and the flow and also made the song work with Jessi. The results were close even though Mino had Tae Yang, which shows how talented Black Nut really is.
now THIS is the blacknut that I was waiting for. the blacknut that's focused on his rap without any other unnecessary actions and whatnot that steer focus away from his raw talent in rapping. i'm glad he showed this side of him, and that people appreciate it and give him his much deserved acknowledgement.

Not gonna lie, I was rooting for Minho ever since I started watching the show but this is the first time I've noticed myself actually get into one of BN songs and performances fully. I really(x3) liked his performance is the Semi Finals! I loved both BN rap(enjoyed this one a bit more) and Minho's rap, In my opinion, both songs were amazing! Do I agree that there was some YG Bias thrown in a little bit?? uhhh yes...talking about the fans. This is all coming from a YG fan. Along with this, Mino's rap reminded me a little bit about what people were saying about Jay-Z song "Holy Grail". The rap was good, the rap was great but in the back of people's minds we were all waiting for Justin Timberlake's chorus to come back. I started thinking about how the rap would stand if they didn't have a ft. artist and i felt that BN rap would have been much stronger than Mino's. If that were the case maybe the results would have been different. Im really looking forward to what BN does in the future!

first of all: i'm not korean and i speak very little of it, so i didnt understand all the lyrics at first listen. i paid attention to the flow, the music and the ability of staying on stage (if u know what I mean) and then i went and read the lyrics.
i liked both blacknut and mino's songs. personally I preferred Mino's, because i find his rap more...appealing to the sound? even if i didnt understand everything i felt trapped into his rap, i knew he was telling something about himself, and also the melody was very pleasing to listen. he brought taeyang in the show, okay. but the song, the melody, the lyrics are all from mino, so he IS showing his true skills. he just happens to cant sing, so he reverted to someone from his agency. hell, i would've done it too!
then, talking about blacknut's song. i enjoyed it, but somewhere in the middle at first it got boring (i still didnt read the lyrics) and i felt that way until jessi appeared to spice up the mood. after reading the translation i appreciated it more, still i think mino's rap, even if technically it is not as good as blacknut, it's more pleasing to listen. even the flow of the song. blacknut's was kind of... messy?
also to say that jessi is HELLA popular in the underground khiphop, surely more than taeyang! lol
