Honestly I’m not very sure about CPS because it has can started just now and wasn’t there when we joined. But I’d suggest you be inclined with the mainstream branches only as much as possible.

My son is joining MIT this year (CSE) and has selected hostel block 16. The closest FC is FC2. If we choose this one, it will be very convenient for breakfast and dinner but will require 30-40mins of walking in the sun/rain for lunch!! Can he not have just lunch at another mess/FC closer to the academic blocks? What is the smart way out?
You can take FC2. That was my mess too. Since most of his classmates will also walk to fc2 and back, he won’t be alone and it won’t seem very tough after sometime.

Eni though it comes under electrical is not so much placement oriented and also a very less known branch among companies than ece and to some extent eee. Most of the placements in electrical are grabbed by ece mostly and then the rest are done by eee. Eie students go for higher studies like gate mba . Its cutoff actually goes very low every year. Idk how this yr this branch is getting such high cutoff inspite of having less opportunities. The students are misguided about taking eni branch. If you are getting other colleges then try for that. In manipal eni is not worth 20 lakhs. Placements- Ece students are allowed to sit for core cs companies like amazon microsoft adobe etc . But IT companies like tcs and wipro allow all branch students most probably to sit for placements( mass recruiters). Try for other colleges but eni is not worth in manipal.
Hey! I didn't took the MET neither i filled MUJ in CUET but now I'm planning to take direct admissions in MUJ (BBA).Is that possible? Also I scored 90+ in 12th cbse will that make me Applicable for scholarship?
Hey I’m not exactly sure about MUJ but for the scholarship part, there’s a page especially meant for scholarships. So you can visit that, there’s a pdf with all the scholarships mentioned in detail.

There are 3-4 branches of computer science cse, cse aiml, cse financial, cse cyber security and computer and communication. I am getting computer science and engineering in main campus based on my rank. Whats the difference in all the specialization and just cse . Does cse students have better placement than cse specialization student or both gets the same.
So if you know what specialisation you want to take then you can choose the respective specialisation. But then if not. It’s a good thing to take a generalised branch and keep your options open.

dude go for CSE core without specialisation, i talked w a relative who is in the CSE field and hires UG freshers, he said not much difference, rest AI AND ML one's a fluke just sounds cool :) nothing industry related is taught much in ai and ml, choose CSE core and itll be the best ( i chose that too)
bhaiya cyber phy. systems me computer/coding companies me job milti he , ya company cps walo ko bhav nahi deti, also are there internships i can get related to coding/AI while i study cps, how much do people in mit make like median salary
So usually all Electrical and electronics branch people are allowed to sit for CSE placements too. But as CPS is a new branch, I cannot be too sure of that.

Honestly that’s tough to say. But then just given the history of the college, I’d choose the main campus rather than experiment with a new campus

Hi bhaiya, i am not a fresher but an incoming 2nd year student in MIT Manipal in the Mathematics and Computing branch
I wanted to ask u certain questions, please clarify them -
1)Any regrets u had in 2nd year which u dont want juniors to repeat
2) I want to pursue an internship in the end of 2nd year, since companies dont come in 2nd year, how should i go about it when time comes, also what did u did in ur 2nd year summer break
3) U mentioned about hackathons, so can u tell if u mainly did online hackathons since offline there r quite limited here(other than techtatva one and few club ones, if i am wrong in this please correct), how to go about them, maybe make a dedicated video since u won sih too
4)Since u r interested in research fields, please elaborate on research internships too, i saw the proff portal to see what each proff is researching on, those fields kinda seemed daunting so i was wondering how a student would be able to assist them there

@@geetha666 i will be frank, i chose mnc bcoz i wanted a computer branch for placements and i got 6.5k rank which gave me this only, i was getting ece in 1st 2 rounds
however i could have upgraded my branch later also but didnt bcoz upon further research i found out that mnc is a really good branch keeping future prospects in mind since it actually teaches u maths needed for fundamental cs which is done in iiits and us colleges

@@KNIGHTMOVIES-cl3kb how r these 2 things even related, there r people from mechatronics,etc doing startups here ,anyways about the 1st part yes entrepreneurship is supported heavily in manipal, u will get a taste of working hard like in a company if u opt for sp's in 1st year, otherwise prominent seniors like sriyans and others r working on startups so thats that. Secondly, no u wont get mnc at 7100 bcoz last yr only it closed at ~6600 rank

If you’re talking about MCODS it’s been ranked No. 1 in India not very long ago. So you can take admission ig.

CPS is a new course started this time only. There is no placement record for it yet
Eee is very hard to score above 8 cgpa. You can also ask eee seniors if you wanna confirm. So it becomes difficult to sit for core placements. Just think about it as after 4yrs u shouldnt regret for not scoring good cgpa bcuz of your branch. As at the end cgpa matters the most. Cps is an industry oriented and will have great future opportunities but till now no placement record. If you r getting better branches in other colleges i would suggest you to go for that. Branch matters than the tag of such private colleges except Bits.

1)I got 1940 rank so according to that rank there is a high possibility that ill endup with specialization in AL-ML so if I wait till 3rd round will there be any possibility of me getting cse core
2)few of my relatives said that there were speculations that few people use drugs over there is that true
3)even they said that there will be a fast moving culture slow people like me can't adjust over there is this also true
4)how are the placements right now bhaiya

Hey. That completely depends on what kind of skills u want to acquire. If you are focused only on placements then you can take EIE as you can learn coding on the side too. But I’d prefer the main campus because it has so many more resources as compared to other campuses.

To change your course after first year, you’ll have to score extremely high like a minimum of 9.6 in your first year and then you can change your course.

Data science or cce or math and computing
Out of all these branches, IT and CCE are generalised branches, data science is very much specialised so if that’s not what u want, it’d be a mistake choosing it and I’m not sure about math and computing. So Incase you’re not sure what specialisation u want to get into, it’s better to take up IT or CCE
Any dress code we need to follow
For going to classes, you can’t wear shorts. Your attire has to be formal or semi formal at the least.

EEE might be allowed to sit for companies. It depends completely on the company. I’m not sure of the median and all. Will have to check with the placement team.

I don’t think you should worry much about it. It’ll be your 12th class physics only so make sure you study that well. And be very clear on the basics of semiconductors, diodes, transistors etc.

You can find a pdf on the website of mit with details of the scholarships. So check there based on the scholarship you have applied for.

Hey I’m not sure of the stats exactly you can check them from other sources. But electrical students are allowed to sit for placements in all the top companies. If I’m not wrong in some year the highest package of the college was bagged by an ECE student. Could be wrong but then I remember hearing this. So you can take up electrical branches and don’t worry about the placements

Hey. So a laptop is a must for every college student. On top of that if u wanna take an iPad you can consider this after you understand the kind of work you have and then decide for yourself.
