Stewart Elementary Opens New Playground To Excited Students

Join us for a heartwarming glimpse into the joy and excitement as our fifth graders at Stewart Elementary take their very first steps onto their brand-new playground! Yesterday marked a monumental occasion as the playground, a long-awaited addition, is finally open to our eager students after extensive installation.
Previously, our beloved students faced the disappointment of an aging playground that sadly became unusable. Thanks to the visionary leadership of Superintendent Travis Edwards and the support of the HISD School Board, a remarkable transformation has taken place. Though not initially part of the "HISD Bond 2022", Superintendent Edwards approached the board with a proposal to utilize interest collected from bond funds and successfully secured approval for the purchase of new, state-of-the-art playground equipment.
Today, as the laughter and playful shouts fill the air, it's evident that this investment was more than worth it. The new playground offers a world of fun and adventure, carefully designed to cater to all grade levels with its mix of exciting and challenging elements. From piano keys to slides, climbing structures to interactive games, there's something for every child to explore and enjoy.
