- Dinesh opened up the conference by challenging the audience to think and speak about network automation differently and to avoid network automation myths that are holding us back.
Excellent stuff, so good to watch this again after an amazing event!
This was a good summary of what to consider and obstacles we face when we attempt to automate tasks at the individual or perhaps the small group level.
I respectfully disagree with the premise of slide 21 (and perhaps the entire presentation) that says 'time saved' should be a primary promise/goal of automation, and failure to achieve that is why we are not automating more. At a business level, 'time saved' has nothing to do with achieving strategic objectives. While at the individual level, a network engineer can indeed invest a small amount of time (relatively) automating to make their job and life at work much easier by automating away the low-skill/high-volume/low-value tasks.
Well thought out and thought provoking presentation. I really enjoyed it, and have a lot of food for thought.
What a good session
