Cheers Jace, an awesome tactical flashlight and interesting that you guys are using a SMO reflector in this model but still achieve a nice blend between the hotspot and spill.
04:55 ff: The V31 holster isn't used by the German police forces since the German police are grouped into 16 different state police organisations and one federal police/customs organisation, the latter with very limited authority as in Germany, law enforcement lies mostly with the individual federal states. The German police authorities have no common service gun, no common flashlight, no common gun or flashlight holsters. It's up to each individual state to decide what type of guns, flashlights, holsters etc. are deployed.
I didn't run a full runtime test. It should last a few hours on the highest mode, after the step down. But if you keep activating the highest mode, it'll run the battery down fast.
@@DarrenYeoYT, I've owned several different Surefire products over the years, but they have just gotten too expensive. I used Streamlight products as well thru my entire law enforcement career. I've been retired now for a while and since then light technology has just exploded. Everything has gotten so bright and smaller in size. I carried an SL15 and SL20X full sized lights and a couple of Stingers. A couple of years ago I was researching handheld light and came across, Nitecore. I bought a couple of their lights the, MH12S being my main EDC. They are made in Indonesia I believe but, they have an awesome line of products if you haven't checked them out yet.
@@DarrenYeoYT Seems like YT deleted my comment (I posted a link to the vendor's website from your description), so let's try again: I'm also in Oz. This is the cost to the light alone, and you can see it by going to their official website/store. Shipping is probably included, but almost 200 USD on a torch - as decent as this one might be - is excessive.
Bruh I'm triggered. Just why why why 3 fixed brightness settings instead of implementing an infinitely variable rheostat 😐😭😡. Besides I absolutely love this.
@@DarrenYeoYT yo 🤔 Like a full spectrum rheostat configurable with integrated modular switches to bypass the ring control if infinitely variable brightness isn't your thing. I think that could be done.
And by "modular switches" I mean they can be set and activated to bypass the ring control anywhere along the rheostat. Meaning customizable fixed brightness settings with a few *pops* and/or *clicks*. If you know what I'm saying
Kinda :D you know your stuff for sure! I notice that some of these 'infinitely variable' switches often have very small steps rather than a smooth dial that imperceptibly dims/brightens
God forbid those infinitely variable brightness settings on a tactical flashlight! I want a light that offers stress-proof operation, not one that requires me to fiddle about with a control ring or switch until I've finally found the right setting out of an infinite number of settings, because as a LEO or security guard, I might wind up dead before I've set the brightness right. I need instant turbo light when I hit the tail-cap switch lightly and strobe when I push it fully. Apart from that I need three settings: proximity light when reading maps or plans, checking IDs, licenses etc, medium-range light to check vehicles or not-too-large rooms/buildings and long-range light to see people approaching or when on a search.
Thank you Darren and people who is watching this video 😃

My favorite edc light ❤
Yeah it's in my top 3 :)

Thanks for clarifying. Does the federal police (bundespolizei) use the same gear though?
Does the holster come with this light?
No holster, needs to be purchased separately. I have the V31.
battery life?

Looks like a full featured light. I just don't buy anything made in China if I can help it!
Hi Kurt, what sort of lights do you own? I want to check out some US lights, have only heard of brands like Surefire and Malkoff.

Haha.. Would be cool if it had both, where it's variable but locks into place at those three intervals.
