An awesome vehicle with awesome production from none other than XCAR. Please get a Cooper JCW and test drive it and let us know also how it is in terms of everyday livability.

BimmerMann super reliable! I have 1 for almost 3 years...not a penny spent but to put gasoline...DRIVE!!!
You totally nailed it, it is too easy. I was all set to buy one after watching the Evo trackday car of the year and also car of the year videos. I test drive one and it just wasn't a challenge, ended up with another s2000 and plenty of change in my pocket to tinker with it.
I love it! I've put around 5500 miles on it so far (started at about 13800), and it's been great. I'm lucky the previous owners were good careful guys. My biggest problem has been people running into it while it's stationary hahaha. Only minor scratches though. Also you scrape on everything. Take these ones slooooow on bumps and dips. If you launch it right (which, due to the lightness of the front end, can be kind of difficult), you can do 60 pretty quick. Probably just under 5.5 seconds. I took on a 2015 STI the other day from a rolling start on the highway and won the race to 120. It's a quick little bastard. Also corners like a motherfucker. You'll feel the back end come out a bit, but it won't slide. It just slips a bit and then corrects itself and long as you countersteer just the tiniest bit. Considering one?
Thanks! Not to mention they're awfully hard to find. I got lucky. Even being owned by BMW, the regular coopers have managed to keep their british charm. If you can afford one at some point, totally go for it!
I do love the history talk on XCAR its full of good information only thing is you mentioned that the steering is abit easy, well not everyone is jason plato but he says when you push it relentlessly its a snappy car it pulled away from a nissan 370z round a track so they must getting it spot on for a FF car

Lee Ford the steering with the sport button on is superb. Ps. on of my car is a GP2!
***** you should do more of these informative videos on top of your usual car reviews. i think it would be great if you moved into some light mechanical informative videos as well. thanks for being such a great youtube uploader, i always get a smile on my face when i see you have uploaded a video
You can easily tune a stock R56 to match/exceed the power of a JCW...I'm sure the GP is a great car, but I would rather tune a stock Cooper S and customize it properly.
Same here, same engine block, diferente turbo (not big deal since u can just buy a better one) do a remap and thats it :P and maybe the pistons are reinforced dunno ;P not big deal
nice review yet you should have talked about the electronic safety I'm talking about that gay esp that won't let you put to much throttle in while you steer. the new minis are just a rip off, a waste of money and for stupid people who have no idea about racing or just anything.
I drive a JCW every morning and I love it!
Ch28Kid I drive a JCB every afternoon and I love it too! 🚜🔧🔨🧰
I have Nothing But Love for this Car!!!!!!
Absolutely fantastic job! Its always good to know more about one of your favourite car brands!
LOL @ the "more compliant than a frustrated business man in a dominatrix dungeon" line!
Thanks for the history explanation. And as always a good job well done.
This is my kind of history class. Loved it!
hahah awesome I own the gp1 #0171, 1 built after the one in the video
I want one . Brilliant car the GP.

Hands down.......my favorite auto subscription. Great reviews, always. Thanks.
Love my Cooper S!
I have a 2015 MK7 Golf R APR tuned and I do love it. But I got to say the Mini Cooper JCW drives like a go cart.
"A chassis more compliant than a frustrated businessman at a dominatrix's dungeon." Killed it.
Great video mate, you go Alex! Brilliant car btw, love it.

Mate. You're really funny. If Top Gear needs a successor, you guys are it.
Just bought #1118 2006 GP last week. It was an awesome decision.
+Future Rally Hi, do you still have it? Do you like it? any problems with it?

i would like to have one, but i cant afford it haha. But great to hear you have fun with it. i also love that mini, and mini in general as well :)
Thanks! Not to mention they're awfully hard to find. I got lucky.

Brilliant little motor! :)
@XCARFilms Is there any chance that you change the sound of intro. Its is very aggressive sound and don't suits your distinctive reviews.
my dad used to build minis at the oxford plant
I have one JCW 2013. Fun, outrageous and very, very fast...

*COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!*
Owning an "03" base for just 3 years, all I've ever really wanted is a pre 2000
In terms of long car names- "Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) V-Spec2 Nur Nismo Z-Tune". :D
Not entirely certain on the nuances of Nissan/Datsun coding methods but I'm fairly certain you can fit a (BN) in front of the R34 as well >.
Damian Yoss how about "Mercedes-Benz E320 CDI 4 MATIC ///EVO Avantgrade" ?
most hilarious writings in the back of a Merc ever!

That's why there's a Sport Button...
If you want a mini, just get an R53 and have done with it. They never equalled the character, looks or performance.
my classic mini is still faster ;)
BenXL dream on..
