This compilation connects with me on so many levels and that is why I keep watching and / or listening to it again and again, whenever I need a little pick-me-up. Those New Jersey Transit trains used to shuttle me to college in Newark and back to home Burlington County safe and dry no matter how bad the weather was outside the windows. The lyrics of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" are so fitting for anyone who is just trying to get through their day, so that they can put bread on the table. The archives footage of the Lackawanna passengers exiting the train and walking through Hoboken Terminal to their ferry to take them to the concrete jungle to work, only to return the same way at the end of the day really offers an arm of support. It reminds us, what we are doing is nothing new, wherever we are and we will get through it, just like those before us. Thank you Alan for the time you put into your work. It is very much appreciated.
@@davidty2006 Let's be real London is pretty ok in terms of transport.... if it was a metropolitan area of no more than 6 million people. It's just old and hasn't kept up with modern times. Even as a visitor (though relatively often) I can just feel the missing investment and clinging to existing infrastructure insetad of doing a big overhaul. London needs to integrate many more suburban lines in an S-Bahn/Crossrail style system. Big, through running, trains with longer downtown station spacing and much more capacity.
My parents are from Pittsburgh (specifically McKeesport and Elizabeth) and when I saw the old PATrain station for McKeesport at 17:30 I smiled. Been past that station many times - unfortunately it only serves buses now. It's a shame because Pittsburgh really needs additional rail transit. Thanks for another great mix. May I suggest another mix? Sunbelt Sadness / Sunbelt Sad Boi Music.
I never expected to be sitting in my second hour of a technical help chat with no end in sight, but this video at .75 speed is easing the agony. Great work!
I swear these music mixes are so much more enjoyable than the music made by some other youtubers who plug their soundcloud/bandcamp at every opportunity
This is fantastic, you have amazing taste. I am not normally a vaporwaver or someone who listens to someone else's playlist but you have a real knack, keep it up!
I take the Marc Brunswick line from Martinsburg to Kensington/Rockville every week. Definitely a nice commute, never late, nice sights. This video definitely fits the vibe of the old portions of the ride!
I feel like an opportunity was wasted. You played a Huey Lewis and the News, but did not play the Bay Area SP footage since I believe that the band is from the Bay Area.
Alan Fisher proving once again that he has one of the best tastes in music on this site.
And some amazing ways to hype that music choice with the visuals
Based.
Based on what?
Rail-based public transportation.
Trains are very based
The finest and best transport option.
You should do a mix with Italian rails featuring italo disco or something similar. It would be epic.
Spanish trains such as AVE with Makina!!!
Starting with ETR.200! 200+ km/h pre WWII
After watching Luca, I think 50s to 70s italian pop would be great for this.
Yes
Righeira - No Tengo Dinero would fit pretty well
Alan's playlists are something else. Love it.
Tame Impala + SoPac is my new favorite aesthetic
Babe, get the good mugs, it's time for DJ Alan

Man, a video like this makes me realize how much we've lost.
Ah the commuter rail.
Perfected in london in the late 1800's.
Lmao londons rail network is terrible
@@parker6227 Now yes.
Back then? no.
But it's still best in the UK since anywhere that isn't london is shit.

@@parker6227 For Europe, yes. For the World, no.
PA train is not completely lost, it just moved to Connecticut and is now in retirement in Texas.

Long live the Delaware & Lackawanna Railroad.

Amazing music selection! And the perfect length for my drive from home to downtown to drive little trains.
Never knew I needed acid train themed vaporwave remixes in my life, got this on repeat. More of this please!
4:50 Huey Lewis sounds so powerful in this version 😎
Literally just got on the train when I got the message for this.
👌 Oddly matches the pace of being on an actual commuter train 😂
Hey Alan nice choices of songs
I am only now realizing how much softpower I have gained from these videos and I will project this softpower to the utmost of capabilities
Great video! I love Commuter Rail, it's my favorite branch of public transport, the MBTA is my personal favorite system.
Underfunded be like: also MTA is better
You know it's bad when your railroad still uses the locomotives in these old video... Looking at you, Metra F40s 👀
F40s are nice tho
If they aren’t broke
Don’t fix it
As being the Chessie System train the cutest ever, The NJ Transit train is the most vaporwave EVER!!!!!!!
The retrowave version of I Feel It Coming is 40 times better than the original
I agree with you. It hits so before
PLEASE isolate the NJT portion of this video as its own. I love it too much.
This is fantastic, you have amazing taste. I am not normally a vaporwaver or someone who listens to someone else's playlist but you have a real knack, keep it up!
This sounds so good

2:08 3:33 Reading No. 903 is still around, it's part of Steamtown's collection over in Scranton
This mix is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Not a bad mix of songs, Alan.
This is a much sexier commute than I normally have, in more ways than one.
Top Superb-Tier music.
great vaporwave vibes video
I used to take the commuter rail... now I live in a city with light rail 😎
good
Great work as always
Crying at SEMTA commuter rail
Enjoying this one
That was beautiful!
This is my jam! I LOVE IT 😊
The slow pace matches the speed of my train
If there is ever going to be a mix for Deutsche Bahn, it's going to be full of references about being too late.
And there's Colin Jost and Pete Davidson rolling in at the helm, a tip of the hat to the working man.
Thank you
You make me feel like I am having a bad trip
I remember these f40s in montréal ex amtrak and leased njt
17:22 Oh no! Who's the mean passenger operator that made the freight Chessie have to nap on a siding??
So this also doubles as sexy times music for me and The Woman.
Budd Silverliner synthwave
WOOHOO!!!!!!! HELL YEAH BABY!!!!
Seeing all the problems the rest of the US has with rail nowadays has made me proud that Utah actually got their shit together for once
Now let's see Paul Allen's vaporware mix
OOOOOOFFF IM COMMUTINGGGG
Is there any chance you could put the thumbnail for this video up on Twitter? It kicks ass
I think my cassette player has broken, for some reason the tracks are slower than normal.
SEMTA :(
Do chicago house music for chicago railroading
Yes

@@an_asian_guy last time I was like 2 weeks late.
Wow. That sucks.
Commuterwave
This is not vaporwave its slowed and reverb.
Still like it.
Do a video on Conrail with rock me amadaous by Defalco
5 minutes in and it's already too disturbing to listen to 👍. Am I suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning?
I see what you're going for here, but why is the music slowed down so much?
Could you do a british Rail Railfreight edit
I feel like an opportunity was wasted. You played a Huey Lewis and the News, but did not play the Bay Area SP footage since I believe that the band is from the Bay Area.
Deutsche Bahn now please
Everyone: wow this is some sick music
Me: why tf is the world trade center in thumbnail
Because it was part of the NYC skyline before 2001
