UPDATE: We had a few viewer with questions on the walk-away lock signal and beeps, here is what we found on the crvownersclub.com forum from emellaich: The instructions ask you to stay close by after closing the door (within 2.5 feet) until you hear a beep. Then when you walk 8 feet away you will hear the second beep and the lights will flash as it locks.
If you step out of the 2.5 foot range before the first beep sounds it will not be able to do walk-away lock and you will hear the triple beep of doom . It's not as bad as it sounds, you really don't have to pause, just shut the door and the first beep sounds as you walk away. In normal pull-in parking spaces I am walking away along side the car and am plenty close enough for the first beep.
I have noticed it happening when I use the rear automatic tailgate. The tailgate closes slow and I get out of the 2.5 foot range before it is closed. Similarly, I expect that if I opened the door wide, and then stepped directly away from the car and reached out to close the door I would already be beyond the 2.5 foot range.
Experiment a little, but if it happens a lot to you, I suspect you only need to add a slight pause to walking away immediately after closing the door -- no pause needed at the 8 foot mark.
