- Liverpool to Hawarden Training flight with Captain Adam Raza from Ravenair.
The intention was to commence some solo circuits at Hawarden, but the gusting winds had other ideas.
If you want to learn to fly, then Ravenair is simply the best training school.
Flew 36 hours in Wyoming in 1998. Didn't continue when I got back to Liverpool later that year. Only restarted with Liverpool Flying School last year. Done 25 hours in a PA-28 but because of work/ travel/PhD, I just focussed on ground school this year and flying went on the 'back burner'. But, transitioned to a PA-38.
Plan to complete my PPL, Night rating and IMC/IR (Restricted) by the end of next year and do multi-engine with Ravenair the year after.
Not interested in commercial as I have another (aerospace) career.
Great video, by the way. I've flown to Hawarden 3 times and the main reason being is - as you know - it's our alternate so in case there's an issue at Liverpool on the way home, at least I know where the VRPs are and the runway layout. Only issue with Hawrden is, with the hills to the West and South, the airflow can be quite disriptive so you're all over the place.
Glad you’re back flying mate - keep it up!
@@Torkie9918 Thanks Andy. Yours is the first video channel that I've seen flying around "my" area so it's very helpful. Thank you!
@@Torkie9918 BTW Andy. Out of curiosity, what system do you use to video/record audio? It's something I think that can help me (review my own audio). Even though it was 22 years since I last flew, I'm still "stuck in US terminology" so I need to enhance my comms. Cheers.
Don't Forget - Aviate, Navigate then Communicate!
Great Job
Is right Andy, love the videos mate! I'm starting flight school with Ravenair at Liverpool, 1st lesson is next Thursday (27.02.2015)
Rather looking forward to it!
Enjoy every second pal. Ravenair are just brilliant and you'll have a great time learning!
i didn't realise how big the Airbus factory really is as ive only ever seen it from the train on the way to Rhyl until now
Anthony Parker It’s a massive facility, yet despite this, extremely friendly to GA. if you haven’t been, you can go and use the cafe etc.
Enjoyed this video andy well done.I had a few lessons myself in a piper warrior a few years back.
I did my training with Adam! Started my PPL in April 2016 and completed it in November :) I think I've seen your name around on the face book pages too!
Owen Johnson Adam was a nice lad, he probably flies for an airline now?
Are you on the GA Aviation Community Facebook page? If not, send me a friend request and get on it. It's brilliant and growing daily!
Andy Torkington he left for a while, I think he was working air ambulances in the Isle of Man, then he came back :) I'm on the page! I'll ping a friend request :)
If you're local and ever fancy a flight, let me know. Thanks for looking at the videos. I'm trying to promote GA, so feel free to pass on.
@pplbarton
You'll love it mate, it's brilliant!
ive only ever been on a passenger plane 6 times and the last time was 2007 would love to get back on a plane but still nervous just wish i could fly from a cockpit to see the difference but its having the money to pay for one as most places are quite expensive which is understandable with the cost of the aviation fuel don't get me wrong im not plugging for a go
Saw ma house.
