I have an s7, and I bet the battery, on a full charge, wont last me 3 to 4 hours. It will run really really hot (60 to 70 degrees Celsius), and shut down at random times.
Ur exagerating too much man . I have an s7 for 3 years now . First time i bought it the battery would last 6h with normal use , now it's like 3h . It has never shut down . It overheats sometimes but it's no way near 60° .
Disappointing review. No depth, no details, no spec comparison, etc... what's the point of a side by side comparison if you don't go into any details. No CPU or GPU comparison, even when discussing cameras you said this is better, no info as far as my pixels on each side, etc... this was the equivalent of my nephew saying this is better cause it's nice. This is better cause I like it, etc.. etc..
I have to ask, what did you do the S7? Mine is 2yrs old and still operators and the battery life is still about the same as when I got it. Phone is super fast and battery lasts me an entire day. Also how go does the S9 last you 2 days? Everyone else is reporting an average on screen time between 5 to 6 hours, usually getting a full day unless really heavy usage.
Regular usage gets you through most of the day, if not the whole day. It isn't a 2 day charge like the new note 9. I think most reporting 5 or 6 hours or so seem to be heavy usage. Lots of people report normal usage not realizing they are heavy users, especially the younger consumers
@@WintersReviews not mine. Just sitting idle I get 8 to 10 hours, 6 to 8 hours if I have apps in the background, idle, that's max. A very noticeable battery drain after about 1 year. My s7 runs like new except the battery issue. I wanted the note 9 due to it's great battery life but it wasn't available with the promotion I could afford.
Install package disabler pro and disable all the crapware from Samsung and your carrier. S7 should perform superb after that. Not to mention huge increase in battery life. I did exactly that with my T-Mobile branded phone. This is best alternative to rooting and you won't lose Samsung pay or trip the Knox counter.
Battery life is dependent on your habits. You probably WAY overcharge your s7. Most of these things are normal...of course the s7 will have some lag and the s9 will be smooth. But in two years the s9 will be laggy.
Not familiar with over charging. With regards to helping preserve the battery Ive heard that you dont really want the % dropping below 40%. Also once you are charging, allow your phone to reach over 80% before unplugging. Cheers
@@jeneralgod yes, it cuts the power, after it drops to 99, after it charge again at 100, and so on until you unplug it, and this is over charging. So dont charge your phone over night
Overcharging is a MYTH these days. That problem hasn't existed since the days of NiCd batteries 10 years ago. Lithium ion automatically stops letting current in one its fully charged.
I upgraded from a j7 to a Galaxy S7 I also paid 300 bucks for it verse the j7 150 I have to say the S7 it's still a really great phone in 2019 I'm probably going to upgrade in 2020 to S9 or S10? Time will tell
With the huge price difference (and not much of an upgrade from s8), i will stick with s7. The blinking purple sensor(*cough, cough, moto droid turbo 2014*).
You do realize it takes a big ass $700 video card to produce 3d 4k 60fps. cdn.videocardz.com/1/2017/09/MSI-GTX-1080-Ti-GAMING-X-TRIO-6.jpg 4k is very very taxing.
Who the fuck cares about 4k resolution on a PHONE? lol, you can't even tell the difference unless you're comparing television screens. Watching movies on a tiny phone all day will strain your eyes.
Ian James. Because I have the s7 I am upgrading to the s8. I am having software and battery problems, I am not the only person with the problems. Samsung ripped off they're customers on the s6, s6 edge ,plus, s7, and s7 edge. Plus the note 7
Thanks for including the battery life test. So many channels don't bother, and in real life it's very important.

same with me except it doesn't shut off, cheap shit samsung put shit batteries in it, mine ran hot and hot while charging since launch
mine too, especially when i put in a large file like over 2 gb she gets real hot then reboots
Same for me also. The battery is draining and the phone gets very overheated after 2 years usage. Will a battery replacement solve it?

I have an S7 and it's slowed down after the update

Lol... exynos s7 is the best...
How long you had your S7? it doesn't really take long for them to slow down only had mines for a year and the battery life sucks!

had 3 attempts with a coffe break in between each one. still can't get throu a minute without feeling tired.
Thanks for this vid. My upgrade is next month and all I want is a phone that is bigger than my S7. Def gonna get this phonr
Beware that the s9 isn't much bigger it's just a tiny tiny difference. By the way i have S9

Thanks for creating this review. It has helped in my decision if I should get the s9 or a more affordable phone that is a bit newer.
And what was that decision, out of curiosity.

Turn off the battery saving mode of the s7 then you will get more speed. Battery saver limits the speed.
how so? wouldnt that make it faster since it uses less?

S7 Edge just got Oreo 8.0 update and its great. S7 is fantastic still, but it lacks 4k 60fps and better video stabilization. S7 Edge costs 60% of S9
