Erkenci Kus (English title: Early Bird) is a Turkish-made romantic comedy series by Gold Film.
Sanem (Demet Özdemir) is a girl who works in her father's grocery store and is loved by everyone. But her family tells her that she will marry if she can't find a job. Sanem starts working in an advertising agency to avoid getting married. But she doesn't know what awaits her in her new job. The manager of his company is the handsome, intelligent and cultured Can (Can Yaman). Since Sanem always manages to get into trouble, this situation attracts Can's attention and a great love story begins.

Actually both Yigit & Huma are very much alike. Hence, both of them are always in cahoot of their wicked destructive plans. Same goes to nasty brother sister team betwn Polen & her brother Yigit, both equally possessive, jealous, evil & devious.

Watching Yigit and Huma in the kitchen it awful! Huma is so venomous and toxic! She can see how happy Can is but she doesn’t care because she doesn’t want them to marry anyone and if they do it must in her eyes be a girl she can control! Sadly it will never happen which is a major plot f up in my view! Although things comes out a little at the end it’s never addressed as it should have been and Tigit and Can never have their rightful argument or confrontation be it words or a scuffle even when it is out the face off never happens- bad writing! Someone else who looks like Medusa never gets hers either! Although Meribahn does bring me great joy on how she handles Huma! I think Meribahn is the only one that ‘ deals with Huma as others should have all along!

she just selfless and see the good in people she's not a bad friend . she just had a lot to deal with her relationships her job etc.. Ayhan is a very good friend but remember that she didn't face any of what Sanem face since she started working at the agency she (Ayhan )had the time to go see her and talked at her house .. but now Sanem was to deal with everything her future book her job helping her sister for Emre and Leyla wedding also trying to deal with Can and his jealousy and their back and forth with the wedding thing and Huma behavior her mom behavior .. like that's a lot she did forget Ayhan but she has to deal with her life too .. and Ayhan never tried to talked to Sanem also so why people just keep putting the blame on her
Ayhan didn’t tell anyone when she was leaving…. she was hoping to get away without anyone knowing. JJ found her at the bus and that’s what she told him. Their good bye was sweet❤❤❤
I have been becoming addicted with this romcom... Can is so handsome and Sanem is also so beautiful ..thanks for the English subtitles..the story is indeed so interesting..

Yes and she doesn’t notice how he has a digg at Can saying how he doesn’t support her like he does and he’s distracting her from writing, when in reality it’s Yigit putting constant pressure and playing mind games as well as dribbling all over Sanem and wanting to be near her at all times she’s in the office that’s stopping her , but then to see Huma stoop that low by saying Can will never let him publish Sanems book and stirring up the pot that’s already at boiling point on the day of her other sons wedding! The woman is pure venom!

I quit watching after Sanem tells Can to leave and she didn’t trust or believe him over Yighit. She broke Can’s heart!
Sanem saw how Yigit was looking at her, and went to Can to distract him when she realizes that he too saw the look, which is a clear indication that Yigit has other intentions but she ignores it yet again… she has been so selfish to the point that she doesn’t even see that something is bothering Can, if Leyla hadn’t tipped her off, she would have missed Can’s inner turmoil about his father… I feel sad for Ayhan because she felt so lonely, she couldn’t even tell anyone in her neighborhood that she was leaving not even Sanem.. Kudos to Ceycey for always being there for Ayhan whether she asked him or not and I pray that they come back together

You always blame Sanem, but you fail to see things from her perspective. Sanem ignores Yigit, even though Yigit has feelings for her because Sanem is someone with a pure heart. She just considers Yigit as a friend, and her boss. She has always been this happy go lucky girl who has been an extrovert, making everyone around her feel special. You can't blame her for being friendly. About her working with Yigit despite Can hating it is because she wanted to achieve something on her own and not at a courtesy of her boyfriend. Sanem left the agency because at that time Can decided to break up with Sanem and go to Balkens and accept Polen's offer. Despite Sanem trying her best he did not want to stay, so when Sanem decided to focus on her career, that is when Can realized Sanem's worth and started getting jealous for her. It is not Sanem's fault that Yigit is attracted to her.
She hasn't given Yigit any hopes. You cannot stop someone from liking you.

I love the series but this being the 3rd go around watching… senam is seriously so self centered she’s a horrible friend. & I get it yes the show is about Senam and Can but it has had so many side stories that do not pertain to them 2 that I’m thinking if Senam was such a innocent selfless caring person who goes above for everyone else…. Where is she when her friend is drowning in emotions? She literally said she doesn’t believe in love anymore and somehow Senam turned it into something referring to herself and Can 😢 let me “sister” call me and say something like that I’m coming over and we will dissect every single one of your emotions to a T because as sisters we gonna figure this shit out together regardless of what I have going on aside. 😢😢😢 then when Ayhan and Muzz are explaining why they are leaving she flips it’s to “I’m alone everyone is leaving me” 😢😢😢

We knew that Yigit has been head over heels with Sanem at the first sight when he had contact with her at the accident, he didn't want to leave her ... He got hooked ... The note written in that blue book is a true love declaration in such a metaphorical and a platonical way he said "Forever by your side"... This means he is targeting marriage at any cost ... But Sanem innocence cannot see the obvious reading those lines ... Can ... When he read it ... He was burning inside out ... That's why he couldn't control it ... At the wedding... But Sanem innocence again played her badly because she couldn't see the way Yigit looks at her every second when he is with her, he is sickenly infatuated... To an extreme that he put her in a pedestal and he accepts to be in a love triangle just to be with her ... He swallowed his own pride because he lost his mind loving her ...
She’s desperately wanna probe to Huma her talent as a writter en she thought only yighit can help her to probe herself although she feels the tension between Can en Yighit but she’s trying to focus on her goal “to publish her book”

Sanem character although sweet is an airhead always in the cloud, talks 100 miles a minutes while yelling most of the time is tiring. Jan breaks up with Polen but still has her over all the time at his office, his home and expect Sanem to accept that then has the nerves to get jealous. But Jan is right about Sanem could publish her book without having to work with the other Herpes (Polen's brother). But Jan's mother is truly the devil here, what kind of a mother would do that to hurt her own children by sabotaging their relationships would then feel happy by watching them suffer?

38:07 When Sanem catches Yiğit staring at her admiringly with Can fully aware…..she runs to Can’s side. She’s either super naive or in total denial. Who writes words like Matchstick’s dedication “forever by your side” and doesn’t read into it?! She’s so annoying from here on. I almost gave up watching at this point the first time I watched this. Her naïveté is cringeworthy.
If Can had thrown out Polen from his life once and for all, maybe Sanem would have done the same with Yigit.

Lets first talk about Can. Can is amazing, the love he has for Sanem is out of this world , BUT his EGO, Anger , Jealousy, Possessiveness ruined everything for him. Can being mad at Sanem for the first lie was totally reasonable , although yet again he nvr let her explain herself. But everything Can did for the second lie is so so so unreasonable. The only mistake Sanem did was not telling Can abt the perfume . But what she did was NEVER a mistake. I repeat, Never! She did what literally any true girlfriend would do ! She saved not just Can but the whole company! And lets not forget , why did Can get so mad and punch Fabbri ? For Sanem , but yet he couldnt understand Sanem's intentions. And he allowed himself to be pushed around by Polen even though he knows how much it hurts her. Can knows this is Sanem's first relationship, he is more matured enough to know things like this will hurt her. But yet he allowed himself to be surrounded by Polen. He hurt Sanem alot. But Sanem nvr left his side. Sanem had so many opportunities to leave the rs but she always chose to stay , cause she loved Can ! Yes I agree that Can always stayed no matter how many times he said he was gona leave as well . But he did leave eventually. Reason being Sanem told him to leave. So he left. Can told Sanem to leave so many times but she never left did she ? Because its love , you never make someone feel alone especially when you are there . Can clearly knew this was a perfect opportunity for Yighit if he leaves but yet he left. I get it Can , Sanem didnt believe you that u didnt burn the book, I geddit , but you stay and prove your love to her, prove it that you didnt do it, stay by her side , show her Can's love . but everything happens for a reason I guess. Sanem and Can needed the break to fix themselves. i love their new versions. A more calm and composed Can. As for Sanem, she was just extremely hurt, I saw a broken version of her but Can's love is what healed her and made her smile again. So beautiful. Sanem has always been that innocent naive girl and she maintained it throughout the show. But Sanem never knew how much Can loved her sadly. Cause if she had known, she would have known Can would never burn her notebook. Choosing to believe Yighit over Can was Sanem's mistake considering Yighit was a complete stranger compared to Can who was her fiance. Sanem knows how much Can hates lies , so why would she think Can is lying ? That part definitely didnt make sense. But then again , because Can has always been so angry and possessive about Yighit, everything abt it looked wrong even though he was right. Huma and Yighit knew exactly what Sanem's and Can's weaknesses were and played around them. But then, the Universe always brings two people together if they are meant to be. Can & Sanem & JJ and the whole EK team, you all have brought so much joy and love into my life. Never would I have thought i would watch a series and be so obsessed with it. EK taught me pure love, EK taught me love is really not the physical stuff at all. Its the feelings, the emotions and everything else. Today I am a much more different and better person because of Erkenci Kus. Ill always be grateful for EK. Thank you. 🤍🌻🙏🏼✨
This is wonderfully said. The 10 minutes thing got me but then they would be right back in their toxic cycle. They needed to be apart for perspective. They were literally obsessed with each other it was not healthy. The fact that she was hospitalized speaks volumes for how unhealthy their relationship got. Should Can have left? No, probably not. But if your fiancé gets a vibe from a guy and also your best friend gets the same vibe, it is no longer jealousy. She was too caught up in her writing dreams to see it. Also like why is she hugging him anyway? Dear lord I’ve never met a woman that didn’t know a guy was so obviously into her. When I saw the words one year later I literally screamed in disappointment and shock. But it was completely necessary and did them both some good.

I think even though the writers wrote it as a jealousy storyline (lack of imagination on their part to keep it so stereotypical), I have been putting my own spin on it to make it more than that. Sanem for the first time was doing things without Can's help and it was important to her to show to Can that she can be just as successful as he was. He already believed in her in that way and she wanted to shine for him. In fact he was the first one to believe in her talent and gave her the quill and the ink to write.
She could not see past Can's jealousy and Can couldn't see the value of Yigrit in Sanem's life when he was giving such creepy vibes and Sanem wasn't trusting Can out of her own ego and ambition. This is similar to how Can was unwilling to work through his anger out of his own ego and pride.
The one year break was necessary. The most beautiful part of this story, in my opinion, happens after the one year break and how Can brings Sanem out of her trauma and depression. Both of the actors portrayed those roles poignantly.

Everyone puts Sanem down about how she was blind to Yighit’s true intentions. But let’s also look at how Can was being passive about his mother. She’s the one that caused the most damage. Can knew how evil she can be but he never took a stand for Sanem. Ms Huma hated her the most.

This scene shows Salem can see how Yigit is, she looked right back and Can, this is ridiculous. She gives Can no credit for seeing right thru Yigit. Then to see after Can leaves for a year that she has stayed close to Yigit, all he did was try to ruin Sanem.
So Salem want to follow yigit to camp but she can't evn allow can to breath with that CEO lady
