Hi Guy. I love the content. I have recently started playing after a 7 year break due to a knee injury, I have been trying out rackets and bought the yonex nanoflare 1000z. I started playing with a club which plays with feathers which I used to before and found the I could not get the power out of my shots as I could before and also my arm stared hurting alot, near the bicep area. Then I played in another club where they were playing with plastics, and all my shots were great my smash came back, all my drops were perfect and drives too, also no pain This has really confused me, as I thought playing with feather should be easier. Don't know if you guys can shed some light on the matter? Would be much appreciated. Thanks Ajay
nylon shuttlecocks usually have a softer feel to them after a few shots with an excessively hard cork, meanwhile higher quality feather shuttlecocks usually have corks that last until the feathers break. Perhaps you're just not used to a tougher cork, especially if you're using stiff strings like BG 80, BG80 Power, or Nanogy 95
@lamp6909 I don't know if that's the case as I said I have played a competitive level before and played with feathers, it's only now that I have had the issue, not sure if it's the racket or the strings or what
We sure can. While doing that, have you watched these two videos? @Basicfeather this happens when i am on the right side of the court playing doubles and the opponent drive serves or flicks into my backhand I am simply unable to react to that ,what shot do I play ,where do I stand to receive it
@@_marq_6482 I think it is two different situations: For the flat serve (drive serve) the solution is to be in a back hand grip with racket in front of you. Then you can hit a hard drive back. Normally I start in the right side with a back hand grip since I prefer to move forward and push. For the flick serve you need to change your grip to neutral. So important to be in a loose grip so you can change quickly. Also notice the opponent if there are any signs telling what they will do.
Yea we can try, of course a quite difficult topic. Have you seen our badminton tactics playlist on our channel? Some good stuff you can already start watching today ruclips.net/p/PL6wTgH7fduflF_QQkG5po38afL7bzzAHY&si=LYaVChVHmhD2n3cE
@Basicfeather oh my god you actually replied I have a friend who's genuinely pretty fast on court be it drops or smashesh I struggle to get points from him as his defense seems unbeatable I have to do down the line smashes or very tight net shots if I can I jus got racket strung first time 26lbs bg65 in a well as per you guys below avg racket atk 9
