There's something about you, Gerbert. Can't quite put my finger on it. Not everyone can or should be special, but those that leave the crowd to distinguish themselves fight for the chance. I'm just some fool, but from my perspective you've got vision and more of a pull than you think. Here's why I personally find you relatable:
-You're very self aware and like to wax philosophical and meme in equal parts, you know when to not take things seriously and to find humour in the bleak
-You're trying to find a way to embrace masculinity without taking on toxic stereotypes in a time where being an admirable man is not well defined and young folk are confused
-You carry a certain doomer angst behind the silliness. I get the impression you're genuinely worried about our collective future but you don't want it to show (maybe because it's trite to think that way)
-You're a representative age and gender for a population that's having a hard time in the west
-You've got an observant, pattern-seeking personality that questions subjective truths and a curious, probably adhd-addled mind
-You're painfully aware of your shortcomings as a person or intellectual (and others') and don't make excuses for yourself, remain open to seeking answers and growth
-You pay attention to authenticity and connect to people by putting your heart on your sleeve. I think we're entering into a time where authenticity is of very high value to the audience
-Your humour is subtle/dry and your planned gags are hilarious (the reaction in reaction in reaction video comes to mind)
    -You seem kind

Something that's been on mind a lot recently would be a feeling when you're not doing too hot mentally, like how in the moment it feels like you'll never get a girlfriend, graduate uni, be successful or happy for the rest of your life. But shit like that takes time to accomplish, it takes time to meet new people. It takes time to graduate and do well in school. Just cause it's not happening in that instant doesn't mean you should give up or accept that it will never happen. But the concept just being patient and waiting (not for it to happen to you, but rather the opportunity to present itself) is such a difficult concept for me to accept. I hate the fact I cant just go out and make a bunch of friends. Or the fact every girl I have been into doesn't want to date. It always has to be difficult based on the fact that everything take time. New friends need time to get used to you, you need to spend time talking to her and also NOT talking to her so she misses your company, you need to spend countless nights studying just to pass one class, I keep telling myself "just gotta give it time and it'll get better". Time does heal all wounds but in the moment it feels like it'll take a millennia to get anything I want. But looking back on other times I felt similar and I finally got what I wanted, it just feels so short. Im only 20 years old right now, I still have my entire early and mid 20s to have fun and experience so many new things. But It already feels like its all over for some reason. Like Ill never make new friends, or meet a girl that I can date. The situation im in now, is the situtation I will be in for the rest of my life and its just... hopeless.
Idk if I just sound like a crazy person or if others can't relate, but its just an idea of maybe something you could talk about on this channel. How you feel like you'll always be stuck as the person you are now even if I know that's obviously not the case.

You have to realize that every truly good thing requires sacrifice. I know that feeling, where you are sitting around and any small thought spirals into catastrophe in your imagination…not fun. I think this comes from a lack of love, and I don’t mean romantic love necessarily. I mean a love you have for something outside of yourself. That ‘something’ could be any specific interest or person that draws you toward the good. The ‘drawing force’ is love.
Our society and technology is designed in such a way as to completely atomize and isolate the individual so that they are subject to parasitic attention systems (social media, dating apps, etc). These systems are designed in such a way as to build a fantasy from voyeuristic glimpses into the “lives” of other people. These glimpses are fleeting and are forgotten as quickly as they are viewed. They are not bad in themselves, in fact they are little ‘loves’ in the sense of the previous definition. They can not sustain you however, in the moments of quiet, when the silence of the void comes rushing in, you can hear your own soul wailing in torment. This torment is caused by the lack of a sustaining love.
Now in regards to your statement about waiting until it happens, finding love is very rarely a matter of circumstance. It is much more reliably gained through sacrifice. So let’s say you have an interest in art for example. Are you willing to sacrifice a significant amount of time and attention to get better and find artists, theories, styles, techniques that will move you towards the good as it relates to art? I will tell you that if you are willing to sacrifice, it becomes a positive feedback loop. The love (drawing force) increases in proportion to your sacrifice.

Let me tell you something, I was unaware of my own thoughts all my life until my 22nd ish. No clue about masculinity, sexual relationships etc. Always beta. I discovered red pill, went through all the stages (anger, depression etc.. Started working out and getting my life in order, and surely, but VERY slowly you can start seeing results. Now only about after 2-3 years of consistent grinding I slowly start to attract girls I like my self. First it was the odd chubby duckling, now they are getting better and better. The take away part is I am STILL a student (24yo), and can say that my life has barely even begun yet. It is NOT over. Your life will take so many unexpected paths within these years, as long as you're not afraid to grab chances and stay consistent to the grind. Not everyone becomes succesful in the way they want to be, is it bad? No, but you should try everything so you can atleast say "I tried, I failed, now I move on and learn from my mistakes". It WILL and NEEDS to take time, that's the harsh reality. Amazon needed 20 yrs to become what they are now.

I can relate. "feeling when you're not doing too hot mentally" feels horrible. It's funny how sometimes your mind does that. Giving into it or trying to resist it makes it worse for me, so I just accept it. I go trough it and its done and over. It's normal for a person to feel low, there is also such thing as "healthy levels of depression".
Don't try to blaze trough stuff to reach your goal, nor make it a slog. Think of it as "I have done this, what can I do next." "Nothing" is the answer only if you have reached your goal by your set definition of done. Like do +1 over it the next day.
Time passes either way, so have fun, take up more skills, make some new friends along the way. I know it feels weird to talk to others, but what can you loose from it? Like if that person doesn't like you, fine, try again with another person. Just don't be spiteful about it. It makes it times easier if you have anything in common activity (music, sport, entertainment, hobby or even classes). The positive feedback loop is strong on this one.
About dating. I feel like I'm completely in the same boat. Don't pressure yourself (or anybody else) into it. Even if it works it never works out in the end. I hope it's not about the "in relationship" status, because that's the worst reason. You should be going a lot slower on this one. Rushing here causes more harm.
Nothing is set in stone, you don't need to worry about how the rest of your life will go if you try to make tomorrow better for yourself. I don't believe in destiny, nor zodiac signs, nor luck (like "it just happened for no reason").
"But It already feels like its all over for some reason. Like Ill never make new friends," This is how most of the people feel, especially right now. It's completely rational, normal and justified, especially with what's going on.

It's not achievable, if you are looking for the "best" or "fastest" ways to be good at... anything. Absolutely everything requires some patience for the activity and for yourself. You will suck at doing stuff if you have done it for like the 1st time in your life. No need to blaze over it. Just do +1 next time. "I have done this now, can I do something more." If you set some big goal, it backfires really bad. Instead, scale it with what you can, and progressively build on it, until it fits your set definition of done (without constantly changing it).

Honestly bro, I think how we end up is a mix of our environment and our genetics. The environment part is essential, because even if you have the best genes, but your upbringing and environment in general is terrible, it’s gonna have a huge impact on your success, and the same goes the other way around.

    • @dqvoltheweak6689

Imo environment has like 99% of the impact, with genetics being able to affect your life. It conditions your way of thinking completely. Ofc bad genetics can be a big deal if some disease or mental condition is passed from generations, but even then the way that they go about it depends also on the environment.

Like Gerbert said here, the family structure’s crumbling, the middle class is falling apart, inflation’s making it so that your average 9-5 jobs can’t pay you enough for you to support yourself or anybody for that matter
Decades ago the middle class was something godly, affordable, not that hard too achieve
Now it’s barely above poverty at this point, only difference being that average people are chained by society’s expectations of them so they keep on plowing the soil, whilst the homeless and the drunk and the drug addicts and the poor are free to some extent cause nobody expects them to accomplish anything

its refreshing to see someone who just gives their thoughts on things, reminds me of socrates always asking questions instead of giving advice and making it doctrine. i previously thought that if i did youtube, i had to give advice, teach, advise, and be a teacher basically and succumb to the guru because that's all i ever saw from ppl like 1st man, hamza, etc. but wow i guess the world isnt that black and white red and yellow pink and purple. my perspective was so restricted so limited that i didn't ever consider that i could just speak my thoughts and try to figure shit out vs CLAIMING to have the answers like dem gurus.
i remember there was this fool (disrespectful mb) there was this guy who could read really fast and because of that he would choose a topic and read all the different views on that and then he would form his own view vs just reading or consuming information and taking it as doctrine and completely following it.
i really think thats important, getting many many perspectives and views and then analyzing yourself and finding what appears to be "truth"
shit i'd say we all just truthseekers out here, tryna find the truth to happiness, fulfillment, making money, all dat shit
arguably the only truly reliable source is the Quran (which i believe to be true as per my religious beliefs)
i must say when i read the quran and follow the teachings of the prophet muhammad (peace be upon him) i do feel pretty darn good, but maybe because i havent read enough about Islam or maybe because I'm dumb or maybe because of modern life being different, I can't completely just take and learn from the teachings of religion to live in this world because it doesn't teach me how to make money n shit in this modern internet day, it does teach what things should be avoided and what is encouraged but not the complete total specifics like run this onlie business or some shit
aight mb i keep journaling in these comments bruh i aint even finish watching the vid mb gerby is this self-centered of me doing this self journaling type shit in here? mb ill take it to the pages of the journal cuz
