Self defence laws are on the books, but many police and prosecutors ignore them because they don't support them. They believe you should ALLOW a criminal to do what he wants to you (and if you end up dead, well it sucks to be you but that's the price of living in a 'civilized' country) and then trust the softhearted legal system to deal with him. With the Justice System, there are 2 routes a nation can choose:
1. Being hard on crime. Lengthy punishments, hard fines, repeat offenders get lengthier sentences
or
2. Being softer on crime, but emphasizing rehabilitation. Criminals who show progress can be let out early with restrictions. Some say this is more moral
The problem with modern day Canada is that they say they’re doing #2, but in reality they’re doing _neither._ They aren’t punishing criminals and instead letting them off really easily, and at the same time they aren’t adequately rehabilitating criminals. They’re letting out criminals that will just do more crime, then not get punished and escalating the cycle.
It seems like every other week EPS says they have to let out a Sex-Offender who they say they think has a “very high chance of re-offending.” That situation should never happen. We’re valuing criminals over innocent civilians

I get out of my car this morning, and walk to work. A luxury I've taken for granted.
And I think to myself, whens the last time you saw Canadians proud to be Canadians. As a kid traveling to the US I was proud to tell everyone I was Canadian.

We need an election now! I was born and raised here and love my country. I’m trying to stay positive and hopeful for my son but it’s getting harder and harder. My son finished school and can’t find a trades job/apprenticeship or get into union (we don’t know anyone or have any connections). Plus there are no jobs for him out there especially with this mass immigration. Being a single mom and on disability due to injury, these last 4yrs has brought me close to many breaking points.
