@@jimmy1426 Sure, but it is cool to go to office once in a while
Bro your office and surrounding views are absolutely stunning.
Fr, the office is amazing!
Right on. That building that he works in, is on another level of perfection jeje
Honestly I'm starting to wonder if he owns the whole floor/building. He's always the only person in the entire floor in every video.
just a good looking cage but still cage!

Your coding environment is absolutely beautiful, wish everyone can work like you ❤ You motivation is always never ending and your content is so entertaining with the tech and vlog you share with us

You have to love what you do to enjoy it!! Love this Brian!! Always look forward to your videos. 🔥🔥👌🏾
Keep it up, my man, you are living the dream life of many of us solo tech hustlers, so kind from you to share !
Thank you for putting audio voice it is easier to follow the video then with subtitles 👌🏻 I like this type of videos of yours! Thank you for sharing your opinion about tech, I am not even working in this area, but seems pretty trendy and interesting! Waiting for new content :)
Always so nice when you post your videos always makes my day!! Keep it up Brian much love right here from Houston 🔥🔥
Thank you for this video! Coming from someone that starting to learn programming, I appreciate your perspective. I know its not as easy as it looks with all these videos on yt but it shows what you can have if you work hard. Thank you!
definitely, that's how it came to me. Long nights of coding haha. 🤞best of luck
woow I respect that a lot I need a men who is an expert in softwares it fascinate's me!!
Hey! Thanks so much for sharing this video. It seriously motivated me to keep going on my journey to becoming a software engineer.
Yes I enjoy when you move around and show the office, adding up some scenes were you code (especially those outdoors), it is just so refreshing. Looking forward for another day in the life video!
cool! Thanks for letting me know 👍
woww! the view and the office surrounding is really amazing!
Throughly enjoyed this Brian, but also I just have to say, your thumbnails are just soooo beautiful to look at. You’re doing amazing🫶🏾
definitely have always been enjoying watching your vlog videos, they are amazing and sometimes when i have had a break down in my projects i come and check out your videos to boost my morale in programming, one thing i have learnt for sure is that, if you keep on changing your positions on where you code, your productivity rate increases
thanks! Yeah several people mention that it helps them stay productive or just relax haha. And, yup I feel that way too sometimes by simply switching positions or area.

Amazing video. I really love the way you edit your videos, especially the into. Those background views as your on your way to work(spectacular✨). Those building models were so beautiful. Can’t wait for more of your upcoming videos.🙌

Great video, and I have to say that is a beautiful office. Glad you get satisfaction from this career.
Wow ! I'm a software engineer too ..this video motivated me so much and made me love my study much more ..thanks for this amazing video!❤
so clean and comfy video, thanks bro
Appreciate it! Don’t miss the new one :)
Really like the aesthetics of this videos. Every thing is very minimal yet appealing. Looking forward for more videos!!!!!
Glad you think so! Don’t miss the new one :)
It's nice to see people enjoying the flexibility of working instead of being confined to one space for multiple hours of the day.
One thing i have to highlight i also love about being a software engineer/solution architect: The sheer number of different tasks and the infinite knowledge you can accumulate.
I usually spend around 4 hours a day having all kinds of different meetings like tech plannings with other software engineers, product plannings with the project management, process optimizations with the agile coaches, architectural plannings with the other solution architects ... The list goes on.
Besides that, i then also use a few specific "focus time" hours a day for writing code, implementing infrastructure or cloud components etc.
There are also a million things you could specialize on, or be insane like me and try to learn everything :D
Exactly! That’s why I said it’s like a video game of where you’re trying to master all things haha.
Thanks for checking out the content :)
That's awesome Brian, thanks for videos like that!!!
You’re welcome! ☺️
I love the bike tech in it ❤❤❤
what an amazing space you get to work in, I would love to study there
Great to a insight of your day to day life! Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You are living my dream life lmao the quality of your content is also stunning, congrats.
Glad you enjoy it! 🙂
I still remember starting as a software engineer and enjoying all the things you mention. Then at some point you get promoted to senior developer and eventually you get used to it. Everything, the compensation, the benefits, the tasks, the teammates, policits etc. And then at some point you start wanting more, but compared to when you started, it gets increasingly harder to get more. Jumping from 0 to 2500 € a month is like a jackpot, but going from 2500 to 4000 feels almost like nothing even though you worked so hard for it. I got promoted to lead developer recently and yes it is nice and all. Good compensation bump but essentially it's not really much different, just more official and something I can put on my linked in. don't get me wrong, I still enjoy my job and it's 1 million times better than most other jobs, but I already feel kinda sad knowing, that I will most likely never experience my job like I used to in the first couple of years.
Different life different problems I guess. If you want to feel more fulfilled, try to take a minute or two everyday, and just admire all the stuff you have currently, don’t think what you want, but appreciate what you have right now
Thanks for sharing your story. It’s definitely something to keep in mind. Maybe there’s other ways to find more fulfillment at the top?
I think what you just described is true for most stuff in life, it's always more exilirating at the begining, then it can become mondane over time
@@yoannme1181 I hear people mention that. Also in tech there’s a pattern to become really good at what you do just to end up in a management style position where you no longer get to code an all.
I love that I came across this video because I have seen so many RUclips videos from current or former software engineers that talk about how people should not be software engineers. As someone who is learning and wanting to be a software engineer in the future it caused me to question if I should even want to do it. After sometime I finally realized that some people don't like the job, which is fine but I am concert on my decision that I do want to be a software engineer and this just showed me that I am on the right path.
No, they like their job .. the problem is that
You can actually get top engineer located in countries that offer 1000 USD monthly, which is 12k annually
So, why would you get hired in 1st class countries??
That's why you see top companies make huge layoffs
I love the job. Honestly, it's my dream, but the reality is, at the moment, it's insane and challenging. You should be aware of that. People asking for a year, even three, for entry roles, getting hired during COVID was a hundred times easier. If you are serious about this, build a portfolio and, more importantly, get out to meet people in the industry and hiring managers; making connections is how a lot of the people I know got their first jobs. Good luck, man.
I've been waiting. Always the best. ✌🏽
thanks :)
This was so informative
Another banger! 1:36 is a whole truth, if you're not being challenged, you're not growing 💯
love this, really clean content!
Glad you enjoy it!
good views of the H. enjoyed this one man!

Thanks for tuning in :)
Would be great to see you doing a code walkthrough like Marko. Maybe some personal projects you working on. Thanks for the vid.
Thanks for the idea! I like the sound of personal projects to follow up on. Have considered maybe something open source as well to code together. 🤔 Not sure what to develop however.

Nice vid! Can you talk about the working hours? I heard that it's pretty common for software engineers to work overours.

Hello, I really enjoy your videos and would like to become a software engineer one day, but i really wanted to ask about you bike which is realky impressive if u can please reply or make a video explaining your bike and the apps u use and how u manage it and how u track ur distance please, it would be much appreciated ❤
Hello Brian! Can you tell me what bike do you use to get to work? The one that you used at the start of the video.
Nice video by the way!

hey bro, i loved your video, it literally inspirated me to keep going in my coding journey. I was wondering if I could ask how you coded your portfolio website, like what resources/tutorials did you use? Thank you! :)
Thanks, bro! I really appreciate the support.
For the portfolio, I actually used someone else’s open source project as a starting point and added my own features. Didn’t really follow a specific tutorial, just used some tech I was familiar with like Next JS, Tailwind, Framer.
What kind of mouse is that? Could be getting dough from just showing it in the video and adding a link to buy the mouse.
I have a very beginner level experience with JavaScript when I was learning web development many, many years ago. Now, I mostly code games in C#, along with basic SQL knowledge for database stuff. My father is filing for me to move from Jamaica to the US, and I’ve been thinking about getting back into learning JavaScript. Any advice for someone who doesn't have a CS degree to find Software Engineering jobs in the US?
Where do you work man, such a nice looking office. Shame there is nobody there at all haha
I Need to work there
@Brian Ruiz bro what is it that you do with your bike and mobile phone when you leave it at the bike lobby?😅
Vlog look cool. you should vlog often.
Thanks for the feedback :). Sure will
Great video! Where are all your colleagues? Or is the whole office just for you? I haven't seen any work colleagues in any of your office videos yet?
Thanks! I prefer to respect their privacy pretty much

I'm in highschool and I've been thinking about going into the web dev/front end route but I've seen that a lot of back end & full stack devs seem to get more and better job opportunities and I'm not so sure anymore especially since the compensation isnt that good here in canada. What would your advice be ? (Been watching your since like over a year ago love the videos)
Don't bother, they r available, but at the meantime, try to work on back end even though u don't want to work! It's easy to land a job
appreciate it@@prabhasisaphilosopher3123
I want to become a software engineer once I am done with high school and college. I haven't learned Javascript yet, but I have learned Python. Which language would be more worth it to learn?
How frequently do you restart your macbook? I leave mine on but after 8 days the Focus modes stop turning on/off automatically and i get logged out of imessage and facetime. Restart fixes these problems. Just wanna know if other people have the same problems. I saw some people have an uptime of 50 days lmao
Very rarely lol maybe around 4 days . But no haven’t encountered that issue with the focus mode. Strange 🤔
Great video! Really interesting to see the path and transparency of being a developer. Two questions
1. do you worry about AI taking over IT Developers?
2. What is the entry level experience like as a developer? Maybe that one needs a whole video lol. 😂You make it look very interesting and fulfilling 😀
@@Tolence Good to know. Was really curious about this and how it might impact things. I can completely see what you mean about business analysts being clueless and just not knowing what's possible. I guess things like ChatGPT and AI are still really only as good as the input - so if people suck at clearly putting together what they want then the output from AI won't be as good or efficient. I've seen flaws in the results from ChatGPT in some of the results too, so I guess there's still that.
Am a software engineer myself, as of 2024 January, ChatGpt is not yet powerful enough to completely write entire applications and sync them all together (think creating a complete application of back-end, front-end, cloud etc if you are talking about web apps). Chatgpt, however, is a powerful tool that helps you significantly improve your productivity, such as to refactor your code to make it look neat, source for bugs, or to do code language conversions, such as writing it in one programming language and getting it translated to another. As such, software engineers are definitely still needed, also in some big corporation, chatgpt is not allowed because of security reasons where the companies do not want you to copy and paste code into chat gpt. However, nobody knows what the future would look like and if the current advancements in ai continues, then yeah there is a very real possibility of software engineers being replaced one day
My future career, along with game and character developing
Good luck 🤞
