anyone who mocks a maple leafs fan for their loyalty to this team really knows very little about the history of the nhl and hockey in canada! what would the league and hockey night in canada be without the toronto maple leafs? among my earliest memories are watching hockey night in canada and our beloved buds. they were champions again, and again and again and again. there is only one other club in the league that can provide so many legendary players that made their mark on the nhl. i remember the last time we hoisted the stanley cup in maple leaf gardens and the in the victory parade that shut the city of toronto down afterwards. I was very young then, but my heart, and the heart of millions, pumps maple leafs' blue blood and always will. imagine what awaits the players when they do it again. to feel the rush that comes from the entire leafs nation when you will be champions once again and again, wow what a privilege you have to wear that jersey and play for the best fans in the world!! true, there have been some very hard times, thanks to selfish ownerships/managements, and terrible officiating in crucial games, not to mention some few that never should have worn the uniform with their heart not being in it, but it will never change the fact that we are just waiting to go crazy for these boys in blue and white again!! hopefully our current squad of players will watch this video over and over again. and hopefully they will understand how much we love them for the way that they play with pride, honour and courage! go get 'em boys! and thank you mr. shanahan, mr. lamoriello, mr. lemaire, and all you scouts and trainers presently working to build and maintain a championship franchise that will stifle the idiots who are so stupid as to chant leafs suck. we love you toronto maple leafs. we are just waiting. we want to cheer for you, we want to go crazy again. we have so much to be proud of and that includes how proud we are of you right now! so go get 'em boys!! don't let anyone, including yourselves, stand in your way. you are amazing! and once again, we love you!!!
claudemyster that's what other fans don't understand when they hate on us and laugh at us and make fun of our team. There's a reason the leafs have so many fans despite so many bad run on years. We're like a huge family, we love our team down to the very core and have so much passion. Other fans get pissed off because we won't shut up about making the playoffs "acting like we won the cup already" But it's because it's important to us, and we watched their battle to get here. And one day soon, we're gonna get that cup back.

I went to study in Toronto in 2005, when i was 16 i played hockey in Mexico. For me its not only a Team, its even more than that, it was one of the most amazing times in my life. Leafs fans are pretty incredible. Everyone calls them annoying but it's because they're passionate, like sure they always think their team is better than it is but how can you hate on a team where all the fans are that excited to watch a team that hasn't won in 50 years? I look at Carolina, Arizona, Florida and see how no one would care if they won a cup then you look at the Leafs who haven't even won a series since '04 and they get that excited every year. As a Canadian outside of Ontario I was taught to hate the Leafs and I did for a while until I finally thought for myself and now I've got some Leafs gear that I love to wear in public. (I've gotten kicked out of extended family's houses for wearing it :P) But yeah, any Leafs fans reading this, I think you guys are incredible. I've talked to a lot of people and the main reason why most people hate Toronto so much is because the media pays a lot more attention to them than anyone else but it makes sense, they have the most fans and that's where most media corporations are in Canada. Had a great time visiting my brother in Toronto for my first time and it's gorgeous. I'd definitely want to live there if Edmonton wasn't always my home for life

My father and I have always had a challenging relationship but the one thing he and I shared was the love for the game of hockey and for the leafs. Growing up in Maryland there weren’t many of us but it didn’t matter because my father taught me about the the tradition of this great club and it’s what made me fall in love with the sport entirely. The leafs are forever. Tradition never fades.

No doubt, this team is the most frustrating team to watch but I love this team to death. Boston was difficult for me but I still love this team.
