Reconstruction was 1865-77, that's why a lot of issues still exist, because it was such a short time and it wasn't finished

That comment is wrong the federal government said yes but southern states governments said no until Grant and the US army forced them.
@@mrbrainbob5320 not true actually, actually, well the north wanted to end slavery, they didn't see blacks, immigrants, or Indians as equals, and they weren't happy about Civil rights for a while, tho they didn't have a military force to make thing as bad as the draft riots they had during the Civil War

The lost cause myth argument. Great, another one of you. You only just proved my point. The south couldn't be trusted and Jim crow was the result of allowing the south to participate in political life once again.
@Matthew Chenault um no the south would have lynched and terrorized black people with or without federal financial aid the south was and in some cases still is horribly racist. They did get off easy for starting the civil war.
