also its the same as their color and associated type/element raven = astral pearl = beast forget the last ones name but I think it was violet or something = glitter
Right, I thought the same. They have "Infernal" as their title but still are (in some way) treated with a fairly normal name. Just like a human would do. Imagine if those were their real names before mutating, although there might be more than one human per engine.
@@dopeydandoodle in the haunted house part you can actually find a note adressed with the initial of P and guess who is the infernal engine of the witches house its Pearl who happens to have P as the first letter
I love how the Engines are animated, they've got a delightfully uncanny Monty Python feel to them that makes them look absolutely incorrect even by Archangel standards. Adding on their plain names, actual types and not even having actual Angelic Attacks, making do with Gear Shear instead and it really does sell how malformed and twisted they are.
Played through this DLC and gosh, the one Infernal Engine that gave me the most creeps was Pearl. That ain't a sword's hilt, that's a face my guy. Side note; this song would TOTALLY fit in a Crypt of the Necrodancer setting.
It is basically pokemon but uses VGC rules, new type mechanics and has an actual story. There are a couple more differences but thats the gist of it. Also its really good, Im clocking in at 30 hours already and there is still stuff I want to do, despite having effectivelly finished the campaign
@@bet3240Great sum up, tbh. Here I am with 70+ hours, having multiple save files really keeps you entertained lol not to mention some really cool mods
Slowly piecing together what's going on in here with every Infernal Engine fight was great... though I still wish the DLC song had vocals. It's genuinely one of my only complaints about Pier of the Unknown.
I feel like the notable lack of vocals helps to add to the atmosphere due to the contrasts with the rest of the game. It really sells the feeling that something isn't right with whatever's going on here. Also Every single vocal track in the game is cheering you on to take the bad guy down. It's meant to portray how tough and how threatening you are. But here, you're not taking on a bad guy. You're putting three innocent victims out of their misery.
I hc all 3 humans were trapped in illusion of what their respective type became. Pearl could been hunted by illusion of beast Raven could been trapped in an illusionary void And the most tricky one that’s more guesswork then anything I think Rose was probably trapped in some form of false paradise. A place that looked like a safe haven. But all just illusionary. I like to imagine when she creates the infernal engines it wasn’t any real work with hands. And more so just remodeling their very mind with illusionary nightmares. And maybe some handy work as well. But still
Yeah! In the battle against the engines I fused exclusively to hear the lyrics, I'm still disappointed about the song not having them. I feel like the lyrics may have got cut because it spoiled the plot of the dlc, but I really hope those get added in a future update or by downloading the soundtrack
I doubt they ever recorded lyrics for this track. Bringing in a singer is expensive. They probably didn't want to spend that much just to record one song.
@@CptObviousI asked and the main reason for no lyrics was a time issue, Shelbey would have likely been fine to do lyrics for songs because she's literally the composer's wife lol
According to Joel Baylis in a reply to one of his soundtrack uploads, there wasn't enough time to get her before the DLC came out, which to me does imply lyrics were intended and it's a shame there appears to be no intention of getting some in after the fact, even if it's OST only.
The fact all 3 of them just have normal names is so terrifying and well written detail that fits the whole thing perfectly to me

I really hope they extend the art book with the DLC, would be interesting to know why they designed them that way.
The character from the right caught my attention. The music kept it. Now I'm searching what this game is about.
