I've never seen someone throw a game so hard. And it deeply bothers me that Denver wasn't long distance mining for like 15 minutes. He could have made a new hatchery several times over lmao
Yeah, his top right expansion, or the untouched top-middle base, he had options for sure.
The oracle was constantly looking for his drones
Oracle was camping, even stray zealots could take them out. More a liability than a strength
@@deseanlothian Not originally. There were 5 drones idle for a good portion of that game prior to the spore push and him hunting with an oracle/dt.
How on earth we let it get to that is beyond me.
He should've just put a bunch of shield batteries on top right rather than sit on 600+ minerals. Would've made the base impossible to be sieged
@@reyalfa18 dude,if the DT finds the SLOW AF spores OFF CREEP there is no way they can get back to creep to burrow (spores only gib vision when burrowed)
Why GFB didn't just send a warp prism full of zealots to poke buildings starting at minute 25 and deny viper recharges instead of just running squads into lurkers is an eternal mystery.
Pros prefer to prioritize workers above buildings, because the first are much more easier to kill than the seconds and deal instant dmg to the enemy as it reduces it's ability to produce anything. I agree with you though, pros are sometimes overlooking the strategy of sniping buildings :) The drawback is that it's really micro intensive as you have to manage both your army and the sniping squad. If the opponent is rich or just have a stronger army than yours, which was the case for Denver almost the entire game, he could had just remade the buildings.
@@Abandon-art Considering that he doesnt have any units to control anyway, it wouldn't be micro intensive. He was just too lazy to think or act
Fuck that why did he not warp in 2 stalkers sooner and kill the overloads just floating everywhere on his side of the map...
Why not 1 warp prism with worker to build a nexus on the lower island....
@@ArkAngelHFB Try hard, climb to his level and you'll find out that the human attention is limited, and that you may commit obvious mistakes when under pressure.
I know there have been graphical improvements since it came out, but this game still looks so good even in 2021
I think the super smooth pathfinding also plays a role in making this game look so good.
Starcraft always looked pretty good on high settings. I don't think they really had any graphics patch since WoL...
@@theSleepyLamp was a few resolution bumps and texture packs and new aliasing tech, but the game looked grat from WOL anyway, they're more noticeable if you compare 2021 footage to 2010
@@Ollay245 I just wished the golden days of Blizzard werent long gone by now. I love SC2, it is the most exciting game to watch hands down. The raw amount of skill and technique required to be on this level of play is at a point where FPS pro gamers cant even imagine. And it breaks my heart knowing this game has been slowly dying for so long. I pray the "new blizzard" that is being made by all the ex employees can revive this game spiritually.

GungFu kinda threw it from his first moves, killing spore in 2nd base but then attacking in the 3rd with DT.
Or later when he looks at the hydra den and just goes... no I'l leave that alive with 100 hp... he is only completely wrecking me with them and what morphs out of them.

Why can't he just put a nexus a little bit off? Like he is denied by 1 overlord because he can't think to put the Nexus slightly out of place?
That's the pro-level ditch a lot of these players fall into because they're so used to drilling thousands of "standard" games; they never think outside the box or get creative when things get weird. That's what separates "pro" from "godly"; these guys from people like Serral or Has.
All the people saying that its a lack of creativity, let me tell you, if you place a nexus even 1 hex off, you need about 4 more workers for the same amount of saturation. That is 5 more workers needed to produce, 5 less army supply and so on. Much more worth waiting for the creep to subside than place off centre. The maths on this is subtly significant.
In starcraft 1 the minerals and gas were in unorthodox places, so it wouldn't be q problem for me lol
Gung could have had a dark Templar and an observer behind the gold minerals to shut down all of that harassment to his probes
I don't think I've ever seen 11 immortals in a single screenshot, not even in the Campaigns wow! :D

I actually watched a game recently... I can't remember if it was an older video, it probably was, but I think the Protoss player in that one got up to 17 Immortals? It was pretty crazy
The player cams really made this. I was only half-watching this at work live; glad I watched this.
Honestly, I couldn't tell who was winning with how scrappy the game was in the middle, between GunGFu not having map control, and Denver not having bases.

it makes you realise just how perfect a game the top-level pros play, that even the mid-tier pros look so sloppy

@@redblack9618 With the 3 Vipers that were misrallied right into the Protoss army? That wasn't the only time they mis-microed... there were a lot of times where the Protoss didn't target the right thing in battle or took extra shots without answering, there were times each of them were badly out of position. There were a lot of mistakes, some big and some little, that each of them made _and_ got punished for making... It felt like watching a Diamond level game at times.
I seen each of them play better than this, that's why I said it felt like they were _both_ having an off day.

COMEBACK? dude the zerg had the protoss cornered the entire game lmao
he could use the DG + prism to quickly jump on tumors and take them out in one hit, if he only took out tumors he would have draw
He also called have gotten a draw by destroying the creep tumors in Denver's main with Oracle reveal, then planting a Nexus there. The active creep tumor would have taken forever to get back to the main, and in that time, Denver could have gone to the other side of the map and planted another Nexus, and so on ad infinitum

Peeps being harsh on GungFu here. He made mistakes, he knew it, and he'll learn from it. Even the best have bad games, and it's a looooooonnngg road to be the best before you start really minimizing the amount of mistakes made.

I'm a bit surprised that the game dragged on for that long after the successful adept timing attack by the Protoss. Funny game.
he could kill the dt by shooting at his own unit when the DT is lined up with the own unit 22:00
Not worth the risk of killing your own units and getting them killed by the dt when you could’ve ran away and saved everyone

Question: Do Overlords apply creep beneath them? How does that work? Do they have to sit still for some amount of time? Or?
It's an ability that can be toggled on when the overlord isn't moving.

Toss sacrificed a lot of his economy to be aggressive. Even with all that harass, they haven’t distanced themselves so much.

Zerg got stupid spell casters and units overall. Those abducts are too much. Psi storms needs like 2 seconds to inflict the petty full damage and templars are ridiculously slow too.

This game shows pvz ground imbalance, making majority of protoss play skytoss. Colossus should have distance not less than lurkers and/or immortals should not die in masses while on seige of lurkers.

GunGfu literally was trying to lose he could have won so easily for so much of the game.
Instead he gives away bases doesnt push his advantage and doesn't tech up. If he built a couple tempest or disruptors or even just engaged lurkers with a battery that was a free win.

There is something I don't understand about casters in general, is it me or sometimes they laugh for no reason? like, "a drone walked home from some place, AHAHAHAH", I mean don't get me wrong, I lol about stupid things, but often times seems fake.
