Always love watching your videos. I have NOOOO experience in any welding, or body work at all and watching your videos gives me confidence to do it myself. I picked up a 73 mustang grande in April as I’ve always wanted a classic muscle to restore myself and pass on to my kids. So far from watching your videos the body work is coming along great and I’m motivated to do more. Thanks to your detailed explanations I’ve been able to recreate panels with basic tools in my garage.
I've been welding for better than 50+ years myself and I do ALL kinds of weld Farm & Ranch type (pipe Fencing) and I do Mild steel and Body and Fender type to. YOU WATCH this man and YOU WILL learn How To do it correctly, 0ne other thing (if You don't mind me butting in) When You buy a Welder Please Don't go buy a Cheap one, Save up and Buy a Quility Brand Name Welding machine that my advise for the machine. My wire Mig is bout 39 Years now and looks New keep it clean and LEARN How it WORK's inside UnPLUG it anytime You need to go inside it to change the wire. 0h, and I buy the LONG LEAD's for it too so you can slide under something and Don't have to get up and move your welding machine.....I HOPE this Helps YOU.
Wise man once said when you’re the smartest guy in the room you’re in the wrong room. I gained all my skills by watching other people I had a basic natural ability and I built on it by keeping my mouth shut and keeping my eyes open and buying coffee for people clean their stalls and befriending them so they would feel comfortable showing me their stuff I figure if I can’t learn something new every day it’s a shitty day
Thanks Fitzee, i love that you share your skills so openly and in a way which is easy to understand! I have a tip for you about your marker pen. If you unscrew the end, you will be able to remove the felt tip using some pliers, turn it around and refit it and you'll have a brand new tip.
Wow, can't wait to try this today. I like the Milwaukee markers - they seem to wear more slowly than Sharpies and this tip will make them even better!!! Thank you
I am 84 yrs old, never too old to learn. I would like to see the how you form a double curve in sheet metal. I have a 37 pu and the front chin below the grill is rusted out. I think others might be interested also. You do a great job in making your programs.
I used panels from other cars with same shapes to replace a double curve section. Smaller sections I make by hand and join threw the middle of the curve
An evening with Tony! Better than a TV Show, better than a good book, we get both and beyond. It is truly an hour's entertainment and Education. Two thumbs up!
Man I’ve been doing this my whole life let’s say I’m old and I learn so much when I started in the body shop the body work frame work glass work and paint was done by one person love this channel
people call it Old school that job requires more skill and I get it from my grandfather today this s professional and you did this Work perfect 👍 thanks
AS the old saying goes, Fitz, you always got to make a mess, before you can make it better. " Don't that look lovely, a set of mud flaps on her " Got that right me son. LOOKS Factree. When you take pride in your work, it sure pays off. Nice custom work fitz. cheers bud.
That was genius how you hammered that bead into that piece, And fast! Just that awesome little trick was totally worth watching, the rest was gravy 👍 always love your videos bud
Love your work! You're a genius, but as you say, its all done with simple tools. Really liked that pressed in channel into the inner sill patch. Cut 'n butt technique is fantastic.
A true 👍 artisan. Making panels from scratch is where it's at. Knowing you can fix whatever comes your way is priceless. I've learned so much from watching this channel. Thank you
I so enjoy watching your videos, many tips & tricks learned along the way. I had to replicate some super complicated bracket/hinges for a project and used your techniques, saved alot of time and hassle. Thanks so much for sharing Brother!
Wow perfect timing for me to find your videos. I am doing a restoration on an 82 BMW 320i. I can use this video to help as I am just starting to replace the metal and its all new to me, my experience is repair cars not restoring. So, thanks for the in-depth teaching on forming the metal.
As always a great informative video. I've been a subscriber since the first video of yours I watched, I have used your lessons often and after more than a year I've not found a better teacher on you tube. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Fitzee for telling us how long some of the processes take, and admitting to your 'mistakes'. Unlike so many tutorials, you show that you're human, and it makes it less overwhelming for us mere mortals!
Love it when you were welding the rocker end cap spot welds the camera picked of what looks like a tesla acre & smoke never noticed that before reminded me of some weird science experiment. LOL. Thoroughly enjoy your vids. Here in Indiana they use beat juice that tears up sheet metal. Every thing 8 years old or older have rocker & fender lip rot. Learned some new methods watching. Thanks.
Much respect, Fitzee. Ol' Crusty is looking better and better. Great tip about how to do the rear fender lip - it seems such a logical thing to do when you explain it, but it never crossed my mind before! It will save me a lot of time mucking about when I replace the rear outer rockers and part of the lower rear quarter on my Triumph Stag.
I really enjoy watching the mess that turns into the final product. "CUTT-N-BUTT" will be a formal body working term used in future manuals someday. I've been watching your videos from the beginning and am a subscriber since the 3rd one I watched. I always give editors the 3rd watch before I decide to subscribe or not. Can't wait until Crusty gets finished. So "Until Next Time..."
Your work is jaw dropping. I watch a lot of builds where the key words are "it's not awful", "pretty good", "it'll do" and "good enough". I like those guys a lot. It is refreshing to see perfection personified. Alan Millyard and junkerup are very good. You are right up there with them.
Man O Man Fitzee.... I sure like your vids... ty! I sure learnt alot even on this one.... the bead maker device... the slapping the metal at the end of the rocker and trim it after... and so on. My confedence... just keeps going up for my 68 Impala fastback... just finished up the rockers like your doing with' Crusty ' My biggest fear is the rear tubs ,or wheel house... ect. But I'm getting closer to that and with the rear trunk pans... ty so much Mr . Fitzee... ! You made me keep going on it !Thanks so much!!!
Thumbs up given. 👍 Now to watch the video 👌 I have gone through a couple of "crustys" and just love to see a different and more simple solutions than I chose when I was to it. This is a 500.000 subscriber channel at a munimum!
I have learned so much from watching you, which has given me the confidence in rebuilding a rusty old car now. I know I can rebuild what I thought used to be impossible. As I fix one thing after another it is starting to really good for an old car. Thanks for the tips. I would have never done the repairs with out watching your videos.
I’m an early iron addict too. lol I don’t always like to working on it part but I always like the accomplishments. Since I’ve found Fitzeeeee, I find myself asking myself, how would Fitzee do it. Thx man 👍🏻✌🏻
You make it look effortless, but I know it takes a lot of years of experience to get those results. Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks for working panels and getting them installed properly. Really enjoy your lessons. 👍
You’re gonna have the only rust free Toyota on the Island…. Gonna have to rename her soon because all the crustiness is slowly disappearing…. Another video done very well…. You are a very good teacher… you motivate people who otherwise would not attempt this stuff….
Wonderful Tony! You always amaze me with your skill and your teaching ability. I appreciate that you don't use bad language even when you have difficulties. I have stopped watching some great mechanics/ ETC as every other word seems to be obscene. Oh well each to his or her own I guess. Thanks!
Don I hear you loud and clear! Many years back in the 70's I used to drop the F bomb in every sentence and my eight years elder big brother called me on it and I was so used to it I did not even know I was doing it. He said to me "people swear because they don't have the intelligence to use the PROPER words". That hit me like a wall of wisdom and I have hardly ever sworn since and find it quite repulsive hearing people do it. Shocks me how people/public figures tend to use every word in the slang dictionary no matter who they are in front of. To me it just screams low class.
I love the way you can break down the job into simple steps that in the end comes out like the factory did it.That rocker looks great. Now Crusty is mint from the door handles down. I received the shirt I bought from your shop. Looks great. See you on the next one.
Another great video to start the new year!! Always a good day when a new video is posted. I was a pattern guy but now am doing it the Fitzee way. A LOT easier and quicker that way. Thanks again for the tips and showing how simple it could be. Keep them coming!!
I bent my first piece of steel today ever...It looks like s**t fortunately I am patching an inner rocker so it won't matter too much. I am doing the body work on a 1966 Chevy van. Sooo much rust and bondo and fiberglass. It's crazy. Macco auto body quoted me between 10 and 12 thousand dollars for them to fix it all. By the time I get it all done I should be pretty good, lol.
Fitzee Rocks!! Master Metal Manipulator. Making something from nothing, using nothing! Thanks Fitzee! I might soon have the courage to attempt some of this stuff!! LOL = )
When I first started repairing panels I self taught and did the same methods as you, when I saw how the coach builders did it I thought my techniques were wrong! Now I see there's more than 1 way to get it done, awesome work fitzee, learning alot from the tips and tricks
Your videos are really some of the best videos on RUclips. I really enjoy watching the work you do on this car because I have an 82 Toyota Supra that has a lot of rust in the same places as this car. I've started doing body work on it and your videos give me a lot of motivation and inspiration. My skills aren't nearly as good as yours but I am getting better. Thanks for producing such great videos.
Hallo Fitzee and the tips are better than good as always. You give us the self confidence to do our own metal shaping although not as good or perfect as yours but at least we could manage to do it with your guidance .At least we can say it is our own hand work. Thanks once again for sharing your skills and techniques with us.It is highly appreciated more than you will ever think.Stay safe and God bless until next time.Greetings from South Africa.
Killer job as usual fitzee . Sometimes in the USA here are customers want the seams filed in because they want the smooth look. But I'm with you on that I like put them back factory

Better than Fab school. I hated how much those guys charge so I started my youtube channel too.

No way!! Hobble for tomorrow! Thanks
OK this I have to try.
See!!!! You learn something new everyday…
Been doing this for years after find it purely by luck. I accidently crushed one and while cleaning up the mess, I saw the double-ended tip.
Wow, can't wait to try this today. I like the Milwaukee markers - they seem to wear more slowly than Sharpies and this tip will make them even better!!! Thank you

AS the old saying goes, Fitz, you always got to make a mess, before you can make it better. " Don't that look lovely, a set of mud flaps on her " Got that right me son. LOOKS Factree. When you take pride in your work, it sure pays off. Nice custom work fitz. cheers bud.

Watching you use the vise and making that first piece was so helpful. Thank you fitzee
Hey Tony just loving this build! I can't wait till each episode comes out. Thanks for showing us.
The small touches like the factory bead weld on the inner rocker make all the difference!
Wow perfect timing for me to find your videos. I am doing a restoration on an 82 BMW 320i. I can use this video to help as I am just starting to replace the metal and its all new to me, my experience is repair cars not restoring. So, thanks for the in-depth teaching on forming the metal.

Thanks Fitzee for telling us how long some of the processes take, and admitting to your 'mistakes'. Unlike so many tutorials, you show that you're human, and it makes it less overwhelming for us mere mortals!
Weld through primer has NEVER worked for me. It's just paint as far as i'm concerned. (I enjoy your videos and watch every one I see) Keep em comin'!!
