My mom just mentioned to me yesterday about him. He's her uncle (her dads brother), which makes him my great uncle. I never knew his story, but I am awe inspired!
Their songs, especially his voice helps me still to this day on a daily basis. I thank God for this man..I adore "Lord Remember me". My grands are learning his songs.. Something about that voice touches your soul.
There were many awesome lead Soul Stirrer singers. Your dad was second only to Sam Cooke in my opinion. I love at least 7 lead singers so your dad sang without screaming. He simply crooned and smooth as maple syrup. Notice that Sam Cooke wasn't a screamer neither. However, I also love screamers but they don't stir the soul. They electrify an audience. Reverend Julius Cheeks was the best screamers and one of my favorite gospel singers. However, I will take the sweetness of maple syrup any day. La da da da da! 😌😉🕺🏾🎤🎶💯💕
