This is the Nigeria Broadcasting Code Law😏 : www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/24037321/nigeria-broadcasting-code-resourcedat
    (Go to Section 3.13.2.2 )
This is a very delicate topic . It'll be difficult to control what people listen to this day and age . Due to social media and globalization . Lets see how everything plays out 🌚.

Every country have their own policies and laws for valid reasons from music propaganda by foreign entities to improper music etc. , the question is has Nigeria attempted or ever ban a foreign song talk less any ghanaian song. FELA was practically insulting the Nigerian giovernment they didn't reach that extent. Ghana music was flowing like milk and honey during 2000's nobody challenged or even beef you and just like the South Africans you felt so comfortable without working hard to maintain it. if you like beef e no matter

What i hate about most of you bloggers and content creators spill misinformation as facts.
First of , the issue with Ghana started when Nigerians where deported out of Ghana in 1969 and as usual you couldn't handle the reciprocation.
Secondly Nigerians want to cancel Blacko because we all know what Ghanaians mean with this whole agenda and he let himself be the poster boy for the campaign. Some Nigerians feel especially betrayed seeing Blacko because he is loved and treasured more than even some Nigerian artists in Nigeria .
Thirdly as for the local content rule . That was D1 talking and he was referring to American music not African . Our policies are never designed to hurt African policies with exception to Buhari's foolish border closure. As for the policy being enshrined in law i have staked with many content creators to show me proof where it is written in Nigerian law.
Now nobody says you shouldn't support your own but you dont fight the larger market doing it and you obviously do it diplomatically especially when you need the other market for their streams .
Blacko has more streams from Nigeria than Ghana .lol. When he was topping our charts did you hear people moaning .
If your being absolutely honest release your list of streams as well and lets see the amount of Nigerians who watch you .
Personally i could care less . I want all of us to do our own thing so we can have peace for once because the Devil has free time in Ghana it is always the Nigerians fault for something or anything at all.

Lol Nigerians are experts at spotting opportunities and jumping on it aggressively. A lot of people wanted to do music in the 80s and 90s but couldn't. Back then you had to be a proper musician (able to sing and play instruments) with a proper band and that barrier to entry was way too difficult. That's why we had the likes of Fela and Sunny Ade. Towards the end of the 90s technology pushed down the barriers to entry. The advent of a home computer and music production software meant that the average guy on the street, who was not priviedged like a Victor Uwaifo or Fela, could express himself musically. Now, you see that the profile of a Nigerian musician is totally different; gone are the likes of Oliver De Coque and Shina Peters and now we have Burna Boys and Rema. Same thing happened in the film industry. We always had one, but it wasn't a commercial success until technology saved the day. When the DVD came, Nigerians spotted the opportunity and jumped on it and the rest is history. So my fellow African brothers, I truly believe you are barking up the wrong tree. The 80/20 thing is a myth. Did we ban foreign films as well to grow our movie industry? What about skits and blogging? No we didn't. We found our way and eventually created a market from nothing. If you really want the secret to Nigerian success, come and camp in Lagos, PH and Asaba and study how we go about things. It is not magic. We are always waiting looking for gaps and new opportunities. You haven't even seen anything yet, just let us have a reasonable Government and leadership and see what happens. Peace and one love to all Africans!

That said, I am not saying Ghana or other African countries shouldn't do what they feel they need to do. Just be prepared for the consequences. Don't insult our intelligence. We all know "FOREIGN" music is an euphemism for Nigerian music in Ghana.
And for that artist that Nigeria brought into the limelight to stand by such a blatantly targeted initiative against Nigerian music is a spit in the face of Nigerians. Most of that ingrate's stream comes from Nigeria and he had the audacity to stand by an initiative deliberately targeted at the country that turned him into a global star.
If you want your music to cross borders you do so by investing in your talents and showcasing their products in the open market. Not by xenophobically targeting Nigerian music, and then expecting Nigerians to continue to support your artists. You have a right to target and ban Nigerian music. Nigerians also have a right not to support Ghanaian artist, like that ingrate.
Also when you peddle the "Ghana must go narrative" don't conveniently forget to point out that initiative was a retaliation to the deportation of Nigerians from Ghana in 1969.

Point of correction, all laws are passed or are made by our National Assembly. NBC is a body or an association for the broadcast sector. They have their code of conduct that guides them as a body! Their code can never be deemed as a law!!
For there to be a law, it must be a bill first and must pass through some stages in the two houses of our National Assembly ( the Senate and the Rep) then the president will sign and attest to it before it becomes a law.
We do not have such a law! The law in force is the one that bans white models from our adverts. Emphasis is on white models. We never made it for only Nigerians. Your Ghanaian models can very well work in our advertisement space as long as they are Black or light-skinned African and not caucasian or any other race.

The issue is #playGhana and if Nigeria should adopt the same approach of #playNigeria, there will be young artists career around Africa that will be impacted for introducing strict policies. As African, we should be mindful what we say against each other because of the ramification globally. I'm almost certain that a lot of Nigeria watch your content not because you're Nigeria, but you produce better content that is suitable and educative. Ghana music stakeholders didn't think this through by bring a young artist loved by Nigeria and doing great numbers to podium to backup agenda not supported by majority Ghana music industry.

The government has better things to worry about and cant force nothing on no one in this modern internet days with choices. Ghana is a massive threat to them. Despite being almost 8 times smaller than them in population, we receive more Foreign investment than them.
We also receive more tourists than them. If Ghana succeeds with this law, Ghanaian artists could be more successful than they are now and will dilute their dominance in Africa. We are receiving a record number of tourists year after year. Even if Nigeria blocks its airwaves to Ghanaian music, there are more than 190 other countries that will stream our music.

The hypocrisy being displayed by some of our Nigerian friends is mindboggling. How on earth do they have a problem with what the group of Ghanaian musicians are calling for (local content) and yet they have a provision sitting in their laws insisting on an 80-20 air play in favour of Nigerian music? I love my Nigerian brothers and sisters and I appreciate the support they have given to Blacko and some of the Ghanaian musicians, but if they say they want to blacklist Blacko, fine, they should go ahead and do that. Beside Nigeria, which country in Africa patronizes Nigerian songs more than Ghana. We equally play a critical role in their music industry and so they can't create the impression that the support is one-sided. The brand of Blacko is greater and bigger than a blacklist by Nigerians. Shatta go get them. Naniama!!!!

Charlie no one is scared of any ban or percentage whatsoever, thats a stone age reasoning or do they want to block the Internet for song streaming? just imagine Nigeria musicians say same thing, just the way your people started charging Nigeria movie actors $10,000 as licence to shoot a movie in Ghana. How is your movie industry since they stopped collaborating? If you say Nigeria has a % law why not google it and paste it here. This is how xenophobia starts by the way, jist like in South Africa where Nigerians businesses are frequently attacked and looted .Check all your Alist artists recent streams, about 70% comes from Nigeria. We are over 230 million people in Nigeria and over 60 million outside Nigeria. Whats your population and population of people who can afford data to stream songs ? If you guys are business oriented people you should be championing for more collaborations with Nigerians in other to keep penetrating Nigerian Market..which has helped many of your Alists artists today. Streaming is done online with data...Ghana always think backwards..

Ghanaian musicians are lyrically genius, and Nigerian musicians who doesn’t make any sense lyrically are chosen over Ghana all the time😂why. Even Ghanaians are not streaming their songs what is going on.they have to come on national television to beg DJs and radio stations to play Ghana music 😂. I saw your quotes . Nigeria stop foreign voice or personnel in our advert because it was always Europeans doing advertisements for us. If it was black peoples doing those adverts Iam not sure Govt would have reacted the way the did. That is by the way. Your artist should embrace more collaboration with other people, if they are gonna go anywhere. And finally Ghana is not Nigeria competition at all, not only in music but in everything. Envy is rooted in your DNA that is why you don’t move forward 😂😂😂😂. I come in peace

Omo Black Sheriff fucked up by appearing in that platform, he should not have done that, he somewhat black listed him self now, what he did is as bad or worst than Naira Marley nonsense, this kind thing as some crazy ass psychology effect on people, if you read the book of power you will understand, just like the way Wizkid carried himself as an example, people abroad thinks this dude is even from Nigeria. Not everybody is logical even what he said means nothing because a lot people are crazy and love vawluence, they could use is career as a backlash. Dude was almost as big or bigger than omahlay, but with this stunt he as dropped to be lower than shallipopi closer to portable, you won't understand the effect now but in a small run you will, the only way he can help him self is releasing outrageously good songs that as 2× the impact of "of cause I fucked up" effect or try to feature an outstanding foreign artist not Nigeria actual USA foreign artist that their heat as not died down completely, if not his career will definitely go down a drainage. The reason why we love shallipopi is because the dude is vibes and is music as great slangs and Cruise in it with good tunes that is why we like him not because he is trying to make sense.
