I really liked this. It may not be an exe game, but I think that it's still pretty cool. It's not about stopping Lord X, Xenophanes, or any exe, for that matter. It's simply a Sonic horror game that asks, "What if Sonic failed in Sonic CD?", and I think that's an interesting concept to make a game around.
I hate exe games because they're all the same, there's nothing different about it. This one is different because it's not about some entity taking the form of sonic and killing our favorite characters over and over again.

Sonic.exe Nightmare beginning, Sonic.exe Spirits of hell round 1 and Sally.exe Whispers of souls for example have multiple endings where you either survive alone or with others for example in spirits of hell you can have a tails&Knuckles duo ending or in Nightmare beginning you can kill the demon known as Extetior that possessed sonic if you are good enough to not die in their own zones. However in Spirits of hell, you can still get the worst endings if you weren't able to save all of them. Spirits of hell is special with the worst ending because that demon (aka Exeller) resets the timeline after that. And in its prequel Whispers of souls mostly someone else named Alice will reset the timeline.

Cd alternate ending gave me a weird feeling. Probably because of how it looks like an actual Sonic game and how instead of characters dying because of monsters, its stuff like Tails being destroyed by the falling planet.
i think the reason why knux didnt care about tails or amy is due to not having truly met them yet, as cd happened before sonic 3&K, but maybe he saw what sonic 'did' and decided to stop him

Question have you played the original Sonic CD because in the games Cannon it takes place after Sonic 1 but before Sonic 2 which means Death Egg was not constructed yet and also the Sprite that starts crashing down to whatever the planet in Sonic called is the same Sprite that's used for little planet if I remember correctly and that planets was chained on the sonics planet if I remember properly which means it wasn't just a giant robotic building it was a whole ***** planet that fell onto sonic's one killing probably billions
Technically, the plane is Sonic's, not Tails'. Because CD takes place before Sonic 2 so Sonic wouldn't have even met Tails yet. I think even Sega forgot this.
