Also 60 FPS slows the time it takes to load a video by twice as much, thus limiting the RUclips servers' bandwidth as well as the amount of people who can have video streamed to them by a whopping 200%. So 60 FPS RUclips is a bad idea.

just use a normal test pattern and adjust it by eye, i don't think that would qualify as something worth spending money on pro tools for. media center has a setup guide that would probably work pretty decent, so just hook your computer up to it and use that. just go to media center>tasks>settings>tv>configure your tv or monitor and use the controls on your tv as you follow the guide. but hey, to each their own i guess.

Gj Linus, i wanted to get into it for years now and was not shure if these Spyders do justice. I always ran into shocking moments in FPS gaming where a mate screams at me "IN FRONT OF YOU, THAT DARK SPOT". Wich is even more shocking when your'e allready a beast of a FPS player.
P.S. I'm totalllllly a sucker for contrast and saturation. I don't know why but it's far more "entertaining" on my eyes rather than natural colors. That and when I'm playing a game, I want to do be reminded that I'm in a world that is unlike my own, so saturation and contrast/gamma too at the right levels are more pleasing as they're a constant reminder that I'm looking at something unique and special than what every day life brings. Though I may grab one of the cheaper one of these for adjusting the image due to ambient light on the fly because I do hate when the image is far different from day and night and would like to have a consistency that a device like this could offer. I wonder how well it works for dual monitor displays as for desktop users, this is pretty much the standard now...only thing is that I use two different monitors with one at 32 inches the other at 30 inches. Hmmm, Vizo and Sony also.

My response is i'm not a professional gamer so as long as the response time is under 10ms I'm fine, and I want my games to look as real as possible take skyrim for example don't you want to escape the outside world and feel like you are in Tamriel
Considering the monitor is what you look at 100% of the time you're on the computer, it's pretty wise to invest in a good monitor/calibrate it. Having a powerhouse PC doesn't do much when the output you look at is not a true representation of what it could be.

With the calibrated picture they showed towards the end the white screen didn't look white. I guess maybe a calibrated picture isn't for everyone. Still with my current plasma tv at times I am frustrated by the black looking greyish at certain times like especially noticeable when the screen is on and just supposed to be black but has this grey tint to it.

If you want to be immersed make sure you get a monitor big enough to cover most if not all of your field of view.

BUT if you are working in print or photography it`s basically a must have.
