  • After a couple of great days at Lady Musgrave Island, we head to Pancake Creek for some better shelter from the wind.
    We cruise extensively along the East Australian Coast on our 13 meter catamaran. Join us as we explore new cruising grounds, cross bars, fix all kinds of problems, ride out rough weather and live aboard for extended periods.
    We even have a playlist that gets us on other peoples boats.
    We hope that our videos encourage others to get on board and experience this fantastic lifestyle.

    Thanks Norm. The group has done a great job on the lighthouse area. Looks like you have your drone on board again. 😃

    Hi Norm, I've seen most of your videos from now to years ago, very relaxing to watch. However, I would love a bit more practical info on your trips and overall. For example, the actual distance of the various legs, estimated time v the actual time, etc. Your fuel consumption per trip and overall. Your usual cruising rpm, the hours on your nannies, and a bit about them. I know you replaced some cooling rods a couple of years ago. What engine preventative maintenance do you do or recommend. Stuff like that. Keep up the good work. Cheers Geoff

    Great to see Andalea’s track head marker from 2019 is still there. We struggled to find the unmarked track. Happy to donate a worn out fender.

      Yep. I think the track is starting to get overgrown, but your mark is a great help.

      @@MotorSailingforOldDudes thanks Norm. Just a blast seeing a mark you’ve left behind. Not into leaving ‘“” was here’. But that track needed something. We bush bashed for nearly an hour to find the old power line track.

    Hey Norm. Yet another wonderful video. Keep them coming mate. They're fantastic! 😂 Btw, I really like your choice of music, always interesting and pretty diverse actually. Very much inline with my own tastes. Makes a real difference to your channel. Can't wait for the next video. Keep em coming!

      Thanks dude. Would like a bit more variation in the backing tracks, but have to be very careful of copyright claims.
      Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Wonderful video mate. You capture this country from the ocean so well. I wonder how long before the diesel engines on boats are replaced with solar powered electric ones.

      It's happening now Dude.
      Not sure about the cost and lifespan of some of the setups though.

    My partner wants to know if you catch and eat fish? I think you do but haven’t viewed it.

      Not much of a fisherman Pete. But get given fish a lot and enjoy eating them.

    Fantastic. lighthouses are awesome. Didn't quite understand why you couldn't moor at that bouy at Pancake. Not deep enough, or reserved for a different size boat?

    • @MotorSailingforOldDudes
      @MotorSailingforOldDudes  3 месяца назад +1

      Yeah dude. The moorings are only rated to 9m catamarans. My old girl is too big.

    Norm, how long does your fresh water last on average & do you find you need to clean those tanks regularly?

    • @MotorSailingforOldDudes
      @MotorSailingforOldDudes  2 месяца назад +1

      If we're really trying about two months. Very short showers.
      Tanks pretty clean. Filter water on way into tank.
      Best way I think Dude
