    Good to know about the idea to change only the G string. I had the same problem with its sound. I'll try your setup. Thanks!

    D'Addario Pro-Arté EJ45! That's what I use! I love them.
    And an extra nylon D'Addario string 0.060 in as the 7th string (NYL060W).
    I play a 7-string guitar. Since you've mentioned the G-string, I'll pay attention on how mine sounds.

      Thanks I like the whole Alliqnce set on my guitar (HT) but I will try the DAddario HT carbine basses bc I ont like Savarez Cantiga they fail almost immediately with worn windings :(

    according some articles on choosing the tension of the string for guitar, it is depend on the thickness of the sound board, the thicker the sound board, the higher tension string is needed to get the sound out of the guitar. It makes sense if we try to use high tension for Jose Ramirez guitar by using High tension type of "Ramirez brand" guitar strings. Therefore, we can NOT use extra high tension on the thinner sound board like Greg Smallman guitar which has very thin sound board or else the whole piece of the sound board comes off from the guitar and destroy the instrument completely.

    I can't believe I love the same guitar strings set with the same trick of substituting G string with savarez alliance one!! so I'm not that exeptional I supposted to be... no wait.... I made the same choice of a pretty good one, so I am good too!! 😁

    Hi Tatyana, have you ever tried D'Addario EJ45LP? They come with an additional monofilament composite G string, wich has a more brilliant sound than the nylon one.
    The basses are also lightly polished, in order to reduce finger noise (but in my opinion they oxidize a bit sooner than normal ones). Overall I find them very nice, although maybe a bit pricey!
    Cheers! :)

  • @eurabio
    @eurabio 6 лет назад

    Wow, I have made a very similar choice! I also use a carbon string for my 3rd (Hannabach carbon nt/ht) and sometimes for the 2nd. At first I used the whole carbon treble set, but it was to much, I prefer for the 1st string a nylon kind. For the rest of the strings I was quite happy with Savarez, sometimes HT and somtimes NT, but now I'm using more D'addario. They are cheaper and last longer, the sound difference is not that big.

    Эх, хоть и школу музыкальную в свое время закончил, но все - равно послушал с удовольствием) Когда я учился так не объясняли..все было сурово)А еще я носил бревно со струнами в муз школу в пакетике, ибо в 90-е ни гитар нормальных, ни чехлов было не достать) Поэтому моя гитара состояла из запчастей из трех бывших гитар..а струны...видимо..на них в свое время еще наши предки рыбу ловили..

  • @lawcch

    I think G nylon string is very thick diameter of the string among the 3 nylon strings and very hard to tune and get it vibrate properly to sustain longer note duration. Choosing the right tension of guitar strings must suit and appropriate to the type of guitar design construction especially the thickness of the sound board in order to achieve optimum sound generation of certain frequency or musical notes intonation or accuracy of the notes generated from the vibration of the sound board from the vibration of the string. The optimum vibration energy transfer from the string on to the sound board is the single factor utmost important when choosing the strings use for your guitar. It is not the matter of how we pluck the strings or how strong you pluck the strings. It is all about physic theory of sound generation energy transfer.

  • @wiz7716

    very nice episode :)
    then you really don't change the strings when you intend to record a piece of music !!?? (because I always hear that for better recording, guitarists tend to change the strings for more purity and softness in the sound just right before the recording session !)
    and I'd like to ask:
    when I started learning guitar I bought a set of D'addario "HIGH TENSION" strings ... unaware of the difference between "high/normal/low" tension term !
    and I am now OK with them (the high tension strings) ....
    then should I change them to normal ones ?? is it an advantage or disadvantage to continue with them ??

    Can you make a video about relationship between guitar woods and strings? I had a guitar having solid german spruce on top and solid cypress on back and sides. Basses were very bright and sharp. If I use Daddario Pro Arte series, basses become just like piano and sometimes very noisy. On the other hand trebles were weak. After I understand the characteristic of my guitar, I combined Bass and Nylon strings from other brands. What I mean, guitar is very important for selecting strings, as much as the playing style. BTW, I can change your strings, which I am very fast doing that.. For free :))

    Hello Tatyana!! I'm practice classic guitar used by a Japanese Carcassi study book. One thing that is a totally difficult to understanding is there. It is an ups rigato or ups slur that goes forward to an open strings. For example (E⑥)G→A⑤(open) or
    (A⑤)C→D④(open) . I can understand kind of (E⑥)G→(E⑥)A or (A⑤)C→(A⑤)D things , but it wrote ''to use your light ball of thumbs finger slide to an open strings to make sounds'' I’ve never heard what a playing style is!! thumbs finger!?slide!? I'm trying it and making sounds by it. but actually I've no confidence of it.... Do you make sense!?

  • @gustavopinent8806
    @gustavopinent8806 7 лет назад

    Hi. I just didn't get about the pillow you hold all the time... ok, seriously, I was curious about the brand you chose and D'Addario was unexpected for me. There is some brands like Hannabach and even Savarez that have a strong "name" in the market. Also, it's interesting because here in Brazil good guitar strings are very expansive, close to a cheap guitar, so we have to chose carefully, and D'Addario Pro Arté is cheaper than Hannabach or Savarez I mentioned. The only observation I can do is, as long Pro Arté has a great sound, Savarez last longer before I (an amateur) really need to change it. Also, an Augustine is a reliable option if the player just can't pay for the string he dream for.

    I have a Cordoba C5 and a C7 and I think Savarez Alliance High Tension Classics 540J really brought the sound out. Louder and richer than D'addario Pro Arte. Just my opinion but yeah, every guitar and set up is different. Cheers.

    Ms. Ryzhokova is among the very best classical guitarists in the world. Some of the observations she makes regarding her strings are somewhat like the relevance the golf ball Tiger Woods plays has to an ordinary golfer, that is, not at all. Like when David Russell refers to one of his two Dammann guitars (both $30,000 or so) as "the good one". Very few besides Russell would notice a difference. Ms. Ryzhokova's timbre and tone come as close to the "tone monster" himself, Julian Bream, as anyone since Mr. Bream himself. I don't know how to make a bigger complement.
