  • In partnership and with the technical support of Special Olympics Deutschland and Special Olympics Africa, the DOSB aims to create a legacy of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 while contributing to the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in and through Unified Sports® in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya and Burundi.
In a participatory approach this project was designed with Special Olympics colleagues. Lessons-learned were taken from the pilot project last year (lnkd.in/eK3vXJvV) and now the stakeholders (teachers, coaches, social workers, National Olympic Committees and National Federations) are taught on the concept about Unified Sports®.
Besides that, the aim is to foster the relations between Special Olympics and the Olympic partners such as Uganda Olympic Committee, Kenya Olympic Committee, Tanzania Olympic Committee, Burundi Olympic Committee and the Olympafrica Foundation.
The project is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany as part of the International Sports Promotion of Foreign Cultural and Educational Policy, and Special Olympics International, Inc.
