And how you evaluated your comps would be most interesting. Knowing the actual prices you settled on is good, but since most do not live that close to you I think the thought process and such is more interesting. And also, what would you have done if there were no others in your area doing that work yet, how would you figure out a price. As a full time real estate photographer I loved the points you made! I would like to just add this though: outsourcing!! Have you been outsourcing your photography editing or video editing? Seriously dude it will save your life and save your mind more than you know. I could not shoot 10-15 homes a week if i didn’t outsource. Love your content man! Glad to hear you raised your prices!!!

I'm competing with people who are too cheap and, at least to my eye, their quality is down in the dumpster with their low prices. Some agents just want pictures and quality is not much of a priority. Getting to the high end agents and properties is my goal for 2022.

Good info, I use a 72hr. turnaround from shoot to payment / delivery. So, generally I'll have client deliverables ready within 72hrs. Once ready, they get emailed the invoice and payment is due 72hrs from that. Once payment has been shown as submitted, client gets an email with link to deliverables.

You are so amazing to watch, as you are a fantastic teacher! I am retired with no ambition whatsoever, but love watching your videos. I always learn something I can use and one day might want to do some form of video charity work or even make a few bucks. NOTE: You may or may not be as strong as you are today, have the stamina you have today, because as long as you use it, you won't lose it, at least any time soon, however as of medical science today, your memory is better today than it will ever be again. You may have covered yourself with your new software, but find a way to keep every note, every promise, and every bill in some form of tickler file so you do not forget. I use Outlook calendar for all my appointments and travel plans; however, you need, and likely now have something hefty enough for your business load. I for one, like all you share in any amount of detail, so I am sure that those who want to follow in your footsteps are totally absorbed also. (Some are so green, that their questions and comments are embarrassing as they want to start at the top with no experience, expertise, or contacts.)

Would love to see a pricing video as well as what’s needed to become a legitimate videography/photography business such as insurance needed, dba vs llc, creating a client contract, marketing yourself, ect. I’ve started researching all of this stuff already but it’s harder to find clear personal experience info on these topics vs the shooting and editing topics.

Great video and much of what was said could be for anyone who is self-employed. I was and now retired shooting photos and video for non-real estate projects. Especially true is under promise and over deliver; I would like to add that issues discussed prior to is information, issues discussed after are excuses. Keep information to a max and excuses to a minimum. You were kind about agents, many are difficult to deal with because they are also juggling a lot, but my experience had been their schedule changes constantly and expect other to accommodate them. It is not possible to be a yes person and it is important to say NO, for a multiple of reasons but most importantly because you can't accommodate one client (customer) at the expense of others. Above all you have to remember you are providing a service.
I’m very interested in your new pricing model. Seeing how you left your day job recently and how you are successful navigating that is a rare and hard find. Thanks for your transparency!

I've been doing real estate shoots on the side and I'm constantly wondering if it's time to start full time - I learned to do the backpack thing as well after leaving gear behind. Just one question: how big is your market you work in? One of the things holding me back here is the town I live is relatively small (under 100,000 people). Seems to be just on the edge to make it feasible. Thanks again for sharing!

Great Video - essential stuff to keep in mind - what might be second nature for some folks is eye opening for others. Seems like you really have this down to a science. I've been doing nature photography for years and completely agree with you that keeping everything in one backpack is the way to go - also lightening the load to bring only what you need for that particular shoot can save needless extra weight in your bag. I've been thinking about the Air 2S as a second to my EVO 2 Pro - seems like you're getting great results with it - I may buy it one of these days.

A very interesting video, thanks. The real estate business over here in the UK hasn't quite reached the level as in the US or Canada. What I am finding with my drone business and real estate, is that the estate agents have photographers that double up as staff/ sellers etc and are predominantly not qualified with the UK CAA. It is really frustrating that they are willing to cut corners, out of greed no doubt. Cheers Ken
