    In the symphonies numbered in the 40s, the slow movements are so relaxing, due inlarge part to the muted violins.

      In fact H is the more interesting composer. He doesn't have the children's songs feel of most of Mozarts' themes.

      I totally agree , Our local classical radio station is Fricking OBcessed with Mozart , WGUC cincinnati.

      Haydn is king in symphonies, Mozart in operas. Tied in string quartets.

    I got fooled twice in a row by pseudo-recapitulations!
    That's even more embarrassing than getting fooled by a deceptive cadence!
