We stayed at the Fairmont Orchid. It was very nice, but we did not think it was the best hotel in Hawaii. We have stayed at a lot of great hotels in Hawaii including the Grand Hyatt Kauai that someone else mentioned. But after many stays at different hotels, our favorite is still Andaz Maui in Wailea. The Andaz Maui is not what I would call super family friendly, it is more focused on adult couples, which is one reason why it is our favorite. But the Andaz has amazing grounds, wonderful pool complex, great food, the best beach hands down, friendly staff, close to all the good stuff in Wailea, etc. The one place we have not stayed that I suspect might REALLY be the best hotel in Hawaii is the Hotel Wailea on Maui. We have eaten at the restaurant there a couple of times, but never stayed there.
Were there any other fees you had to pay at checkout (e.g resort fees), that weren't included in the FHR total? Also, I'm debating doing the FHR booking vs a Fairmont Gold Room which come out to a similar price with a current promotion. Any idea about the gold rooms?
Great video. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem with me. Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (ie: from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Thanks so much, Steve S
Fairmont is own by accor. No wonder you felt depressed during the stay at the hilton after coming from the fairmont. Fairmont is almost equivalent to Waldorf Astoria level.

For me, almost just using FHR benefit pays for the AF by itself.

Have you been to Grand Hyatt Kauai? Or Grand Wailea Maui? Both blow this out of the water (humble opinion presented).
Yes, everyone, please don't stay at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. Only stay at Fairmont, Ritz, Conrad, etc.
