@@Stockybloke Yeah mate... Unfortunately whenever you get a carvery these days... They like to slice the various meats they have on offer... As thinly as is humanly possible... I just wish that they would allow you to pay an extra couple of quid for double the meat portions... I remember a few years ago... My family and i visited a carvery... And they had just brought in a brand new freshly cooked whole Turkey... And as they removed the carcass of the previous Turkey... The carver then asked me if i minded some of the trimmings from the previous Turkey... That were laying on the square shaped metal heating plate where the new Turkey had just been placed... And naturally i said that i didn't mind... What i thought he meant by that... Was that he was going to carve the new Turkey and put a couple of fresh slices on my plate... And then i thought that i would get the extra Turkey meat trimmings that had dropped off onto the square metal hot plate... Rather than him throwing it away in the bin... But i soon realised that what he had meant all along... Was that he was going to pick up all the tiny scraps that had fallen from the previous Turkey... And i didn't end up getting a single slice carved from the fresh Turkey... I was genuinely gobsmacked that he did this... But because there was such a large queue behind me... I didn't want to stand there and call him out on what he had done... So i just shook my head in disbelief and added my other carvery food items... Never before have i ever been the first customer to get the first slices from a freshly cooked Turkey at a carvery... And i couldn't actually believe that i had missed out on my one and only opportunity. 😭
