I just found your channel and in love with the atmosphere of the videos! That takes me back to my childhood at my home in Chiang Mai. After living in Bangkok for 6 years, now I feel homesick. xD
reconcile self and other and fear of disappointment dissolves. once fear of disappointment dissolves, the struggle ends. with no struggle ends competition which means the dissolution of the illusion of winning (success) or losing (failure). once of out the dichotomy of winning and losing you can rest in your centre in wuwei. peace.
Beautiful connection there. Yes, so much more difficult in practice but the peace that can come through this realization is worth pursuing. Thank you for sharing 🙏
hey, maybe u can consider doing market gardening. which is grow crop that sell to restaurants etc. and probably do hydroponic as it is way faster and uses less space and less work once system is set up and it is organic. salad greens in western restaurant should pay well. best.
We have considered it, but it's not permitted for us in Thailand. It's just a learning experience and a chance to get closer to nature, enjoying a simple & slower life. Thanks for watching!
This was a beautiful summary of what life is actually about. We all dream, we all stumble, we plan and things don't go to plan. That is just life. You may not be exactly where you want to be in life, but it's hard to know where that point is. The goal post keeps moving as things are constantly changing. Overall, as long as you are content in life with good health, that's already a massive achievement. 😊
Another great video. I’m blown away by the progression in video quality too. The layout of your topics always flow smoothly and land on something of significance to anyone who’s open enough to hear it. If I didn’t personally know you both and how good your hearts are I would still be thoroughly impressed with your videos and the thoughtful topics. Even for people who haven’t met you in person your qualities show through like crazy on your channel. I’m excited for more people to be exposed to you and your story.
Sorry I need to disagree slightly. The reason the European peoples have this view of what success means is because the climate we've evolved in (or created for by God if you prefer). Failure in Thailand means you may be uncomfortable temporarily but in Europe it means you die during the winter along with your entire family. The stakes are that high. Indeed the reason any of us are alive today is because our ancestors were able to survive the winters of Europe and this means planning and taking life very seriously. You can live like a Thai if you wish but in my experience you can never really shed the anxiety of failure you feel as a European as it's baked into the blood.
Really interesting to think about how our ancestors and historical experiences have shaped these two cultures today. The consequences of ill planning in regards to winter/basic survival in cold climates is definitely severe. Different, and perhaps not as extreme but the knowledge and actions one would have to employ to survive in the jungles of Thailand would also be extensive with many dangers as well. Thankfully we are not in either of those situations 😅 I think we were more reflecting on the cultural attitude and willingness to try new things more than not planning or preparing for a future event (like winter). Our ancestors first had to be willing to try and make a new life for themselves, and yes they had high stakes and risked a lot to do so. I think religious beliefs also play a role in this cultural difference and attitude as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙏
Growing your own food is just really really interesting, but much harder than you think. It can be a lifetime hobby though. The push to own a place (land) was always about starting my own garden. Can you grow tomatoes there? I always make Peter Gordon’s chilli jam. It’s so good and makes everything taste better. Food is just ‘one cost’ though. So many other things to pay for. 🥹
We can! The winter is great for tomatoes here, and we just planted this week. Pasta sauce/salsa incoming! 🍅🔥 We will look up this chili jam recipe, too 😊 Thanks Deborah

Yes, completely agree. Contentment is something to cultivate within as things are ever changing. 🙏

Thank you so much Chad ❤
Words cant express how much your support means as we navigate these next steps and share the process ❤
How much time has been you doing this, what area size is your land, and can you live completly from farm income
We don't make any money from. Our garden. Just to learn, eat and share with friends 😊
Are you doing the 3 sisters method for your corn ?
We tried! Corn is not a huge fan of our mostly clay soil 😆
@@ThePilgrimsProcess have you tried adding biochar or sand in your soil ?
