Hope everyone of you were blessed by this song, believers or non-believers, all I can say is that, Jesus LOVES you. Everyone, even those who refuse to believe in him, prosecute him or whatever...He still loves you no matter what..
(If you knew the song, they actually sang the 2nd verse...
They only sing a Verse 2, Chorus, verse 3 and repeat the chorus...
So if you knew that they sang this previously, all the Savior and You and Him are all refering to Jesus our Lord Savior.)

I love this song, we did it for our Sacred Music Concert for choir *I go to a Catholic High School* and it's the only religious song I come close to even wanting to sing. I'm 100% against religion but when I heard this when our director played it for us, I fell in love with it. AI did an amazing job with it also.

They changed it so that it can be enjoyed and understood by people of any faith, not only Christians. They made it "Multi-denominational" so to speak.

These guys are professional. At first glance, its hard to tell the difference between this performance and the performance where they sing Jesus' name. While I love their more emotional performance, I have to give a thumbs up to the performers for preaching the Lord and carrying on. Even without Jesus' name, none else has ever been given the titles Jesus has. Jesus' name is written into every word of song.

I've never heard this song with "Jesus" in the part where Shepherd is at. I've always heard it "my Shepherd, my Savior..."
I can remember watching this live and having mixed emotions. As happy as I was to see and hear them sing something like this, I was very taken aback at the fact that they removed "Jesus" from the lyrics. I think that the show tried to do the right thing by singing the song, but they tainted that goal by doing what they did to it. If you are going to reach to a different end of the spectrum (and we all know this was a big and intended reach), then don't counteract your own effort.

I noticed in the first take, they said Jesus, then in this one they replaced it with "Shepherd", but we all know who the Shepherd is! Since they couldn't say it, I will....JESUS! Every knee will soon recognize Him.
Everyone complaining 6 years ago about them removing "Jesus" from the lyrics but now it would be a miracle for any network to allow a song even remotely this religious to be sung by everyone, regardless of whether they say Jesus's name or not.
This song was changed so it could be understood and enjoyed by people of every faith. Not just Christians. Perhaps not all the viewers of the show are Christian? Perhaps all the contestants are not Christian? Why not let everyone enjoy the faith they have in THEIR Lord/God/Spirit?
On the studio version he has a lot of solo parts since its the full song and this isn't. All 8 of them do really (except Jason). Here only Cook and Carly do. My guess is because they were thought to have the best/strongest voices of their gender in the competition.
@ceasexfire10x9x8 I know, but, I guess they too understood that be it "shepherd" or "jesus" it's still a beautiful song, and I personally think it's a wonderful mixture of all their voices.
