I failed to show OC'd with custom fan curves (both case and GPU) factory location vs bracket mod location. In factory location: FurMark - 73°c Gears 5 - 71°c 115fps Bracket mod: FurMark - 62°c Gears 5 - 58°c 120fps GPU overclocked: 116% power, +80 core +800 memory. This is the most stable OC for me in the games I play. GPU idle temp between 27-29°c with fan curve set to 30% from 0-40°c.
For any random people coming to look in to this. If you can get a FE / Founders Edition 4090, it will fit and cool properly in this case with the glass on due to the blower style fan. I think there's an AX model that is thinner and will work as well but I'm not sure on that one.
Thanks for uploading this! Just in time too.. I'm about to build an all white version of this.. basically the same parts too! It does seem like the washers are a necessary part of this.. otherwise I don't think the backplate of the strix would clear and you wouldn't be able to get it that close to the back of the case either. This is a great demonstration of the approach though and I am definitely going to give it a try.
No problem, hope it works out for you. I only had to use the washers because I didn't bend the bracket correctly. Without the washers, the bracket would block the GPU's I/O not allowing me to plug in the DisplayPort cable. So I had to add washers to space it out a bit. Also, make sure that whatever DisplayPort and/or HDMI cables you're using, will fit between that gap. If they're too thick, get the cables I linked as they have very small ends. They make them in both DP and HDMI.
Really appreciate the time you took to explain everything, that is an extremely sweet build. two asks: 1. How far away did that put the gpu from the front glass? 2. Think that would work for. 7800xt… got the Sapphire nitro which takes up 3 slots? I really want to use the Y60 and that card. Appreciate any advice
Thank you, I appreciate that as well. I don't know the exact measurements but it pretty much pushed the card a full slot away from the glass. The bracket I used is set up for a 2 slot card, but I don't see why a 3 slot wouldn't work. The I/O plate would just hand off the bracket.
i bended mine, leaving the side flush with the bracket, but seems like i need the washers anyway, the connector is not at the exact center, ill mount the washers the next time i need to take out the monster strix, ty for the video, i had that exact vertical mount before i bought the y60, case is good but the vertical mount that comes with it is quite stupid not having adjustment.. at 200€ case is quite ridiculous..
I'm going to contact EZDIY and see if I can buy just a few of the brackets and play around with different types of bends. I only had to use washers on the 2nd bracket/mount because I didn't bend the bracket correctly, and the cards I/O lined up with the bracket not allowing the DisplayPort cable to be plugged in. Using the washers push the bracket away from the slot and allowed the DisplayPort cable to be plugged into the card.

@@mysticqro950 It would be too brittle of a part to be printed. Just take your time and use a vise to bend it. A metal brake would be better, what that use to bend sheet metal with.
So did you end up going with a different solution to what you posted in your other video, which was the better option in the end? I am going same case and GPU as you so want to make sure I order the right stuff. Thanks!
Hey I’m thinking about doing this my only concern is that I have a capture card in my most bottom pcie slot. Do you think I would still be able to this?
I just ordered my build with a 4090 as well. It's the MSI card, so it's got some size to it. I'm going to be giving this a shot. It seems like it's pretty simple to too. Not that it is necessary, but I might even go the extra step and Dremel tool off some metal around that extra slot to make sure I gain as much room as possible. Do I need to order a bracket? Or does the case or card some with a bracket already that I can modify?
You'll need to order the bracket and riser cable, as the Y60's GPU is in a fixed position. The riser cable that comes with the Y60 has a "cosmetic" piece around the top, which sticks out too far to move the card closer to the motherboard. You can take it off, but the cable is too long. You'll want to get the 150mm cable I linked.
Yes, you'll have to order the riser cable I linked. The one that comes with the bracket is too long and will not allow the card to sit as close to the mother board as the other cable.
@@Swift5703 I have the ezdiy magnetic pcie 4.0 bracket, and it’s very wobbly. The weight of the gpu will make it fall backwards/forwards. I actually kinda regret not getting this one because you can screw this one to keep it in place. Hopefully you can make it work though.
