Both companies look like they have a great product, but at that price I’ll rock jeans and a t-shirt. Been riding for about 25 years and I guess I’m just used to being wet and muddy but it only sucks during the initial dip in the mud lol after that it’s just another day in the woods.

I've been needing a new set of waders. Thanks for this great review. I'm leaning more towards the Finn trail gear. Because I like the boot system. I find with normal waders when you get your foot stuck in a boot in wader style it wants to come off. Also cleaning the inside when you get mud or whatever else down there is harder to clean.

Each person has their own level of comfort. Have GW swamp series 2.0 and Finntrail suit (Jacket, Boots and waders). To me Finntrail is way more comfortable while riding then GW. Both are excellent protection, but i just feel so comfy wearing my Finntrail personally. My complete set of FT was about $650 USD so definitely paid more than GW.

Great video. Thanks for the comparison. I've got a Gator Wader setup (Swamp Jacket, Waders, Insulated Waders & Gloves). The main zipper on the jacket failed but warranty is taking care of it. The finntrail looks beefier and better suited for extremem mudding. I'm going to give their Mudway Jacket a try.
I recommend maybe stretching the measurements a tad. My only gripe on finntrail gear is the tailored fitment makes me feel stuffy like a suit. Super high quality gear, without a doubt though and like I said easily avoid by ordering a few extra inches.

Been waiting to see this comparison. I see a lot of guys running the finntrail . Can’t wait to see what the long term difference will bring.

I definitely prefer the separate boots and waders from Finn trail over any other waders. I can get a great fit on footwear and great fit on the waders. I have never had a good fit with all in ones as they never feel comfortable on my feet. Gator waders are good quality and if they fit your feet well, you are good to go. Separates are just easier to get a customized fit. Also, being in Alberta, we Don ride skeg a lot so some rides are skeg, some are a lot of mud some are trail and mud and some are mountains so you can always wear the Finntrail boots and tops without the waders.
Finntrail waders hooking on your laces prevents any water getting inside so just as sealed as full waders.
Both are high quality.

Nice comparison, I like the look of the FT but either of them seem great, just a shame theres no one in the UK stocks these or come to that theres no one here that makes them for ATVs so importing them is pricey.
Without a doubt! We are fortunate to have a few Gator Waders dealers on this side of the border. Saves some coin for sure.
I bought the neoprene gator waders they are way to hot wish these companies had more dealers to try this stuff on Canada always gets the short stick lol

Thanks for the comparison. I can't justify the costs of either. It my outside opinion has always been that the fintrails look like they are way more effort to put on.
I personally ride in jeans and a light breathable shirt hoody in the summer with rubber boots. In the winter I add water resistant overalls. Sure would love some waders, but dang they cost a lot.
Without a doubt I would agree this stuff is a little steep in the cost department.

Fuck I love the setup I really do , but it’s hard to jump from my 50$ chest waders to 1000$ . Especially since we all know they are going to be put through the paces . 2-300$ I could justify . 1000$ ya no lol

All i know is my gator waders boot ripped off not doing anything but walking and riding in them. Rep i spoke with from GW was rude on phone. So my girl got a set of Finntrail and thats the direction im headed once my gorilla glue fix fails...my Cabelas back up set has been tough as a insulated set of waders too. Im not pissed they ripped, it happens but the rude customer support...bye bye GW
Sorry to hear ya had a crappy experience with the brand. Been pretty solid for me over the years. How's the little ladies Finntrail holding up? Seems to be well put together gear for sure. Ain't nothing wrong with Cabelas gear. Due for a visit to their shop, Plan on getting some much needed fishing in this winter.
@@ehTV1000 FT is good stuff so far, she seems to like it. The GW other than the boot coming unglued has been good too, i appreciate that they support so many channels. My issue is most likely an isolated one but my dollar goes to FT moving forward. Love your work bud! Stay safe out there 👍
Same here, watch my video. They couldn't even glue the sole on straight, and yes they leak, both from the outside and from the inside when you go back to camp. They sent me two pairs the same way because they didn't even care enough to check the replacement. Then after they knew, they wouldn't admit it they just knocked the price down and sold them with no return on there site. I'll go finntrail all day. Btw, I've been a sub for a while now. Good stuff.

Finntrail all day, after gator waders sent me not one but two pairs of crappy boots that leaked. They didn't even care enough to check the replacement before they sent them. Then after I complained and called them garbage, they would only take a return if I paid for it. No worries, just won't buy anything from them again, ever.
Damn, sorry to hear that. I know a few reps have come and gone as of recently, Hope that one's gone. I've had to return once and If I recall there was a barcoded paper I had to print off from their website to cover the return. Timely process but overall I was satisfied. Got a pair based on this review , belt buckle won’t fit, they are charging me to ship it back even though they sent me a defective pair , waders look sold, company is shit
