It does, but even with that stipulation it's still an amazing skill because of the fact that it's so hard to replicate in any form and because you can do hit and move tactics to kill a turn or two as needed to minimize how much that effects you, plus the buffs it applies actually last for TWO turns, so it's just an incredible ability that caps off an already great support kit.
I appreciate it :D I may (Read: Will) make mistakes here and there, but I try to make sure I know what I'm talking about and then disseminate it in a way that's easy to absorb for folks.

Of course! Tier lists are subjective as it is, so I like to explain WHY I believe in characters so that you can better see the reasoning to the list as a whole. "Inanna is top tier" is kinda empty, but "Inanna is top tier because she's a great support unit and has the ability to do something no one else replicates" makes things clear.

Factions seem like an afterthought in the game design, but I’ve always liked having some theme to build teams around in gachas. I’m hoping to build around the drifter faction targeting Col and Alexei to start with and supplementing with common units while saving for future drifters.
From what I understand it doesn't seem to be much in the beginning, but as you get into later content it DOES end up factoring in more, and same, I like trying to work groups and such together. As well, there ARE other tiers of characters spread across them, so I'll definitely be trying to do story runs or sections of runs at minimum themed around different factions. Should be fun! :)

Is obvious that for this game the devs looked to Langrisser for inspiration a lot, you can see it in the systems but also on the units, inanna is basically Liana, that is a day 1 unit that is still relevant to this day years later because she can make units act again and offers passive healing so shes low maintenance, so as a veteran from Langrisser I would say inanna is the true must have unit in all the initial roster.

I’m liking the tier list explanations on why you think a unit will have more longevity. The example of Iana? (Not sure on the spelling) is a pretty nice one because refreshing is always a high value skill in RPG’s. If she has the added benefit of not being fragile as a glass doll that would make her even cooler (i’ve had one to many experiences of my dancer getting one-tapped in fire emblem 😅). Col seems pretty nice with the sweeping style of just going on a killing spree, but if the game starts inflating stats I can see her start to fall off a bit. Overall, i’m really enjoying your videos! Maybe just turn the background music a smidgeon down though lol
Don't worry, that was me being a bit lazy and not taking a final passthrough where I just check audio levels like I usually do, and I DEFINITELY won't be repeating that mistake lol But thank you!
Whenever I watch videos about gachas, I think it's always more interesting when they show off strategies done by weak units, or free guaranteed units (no clue if this game has those at all, like Fire Emblem Heroes's GHBs)
They do! You get 3 guaranteed Legendaries, but also you'll be pulling any number of weaker units who are still not just usable but sometimes straight up optimal for certain challenges based on what you have! Plus there will be events you can do for content so I wouldn't be shocked if there was stuff that was akin to a GHB where by beating XYZ missions you get a guaranteed Rare or whatever as the game continues. I definitely also plan to showcase the lower rarity units that stand out for various reasons in my role guide videos that will be coming out over the next few weeks.
I've seen Dantalion all over the place, but generally it seems one of his best sticking points is that he has an AWESOME leadership aura... But that only applies to his faction units, so if you don't build a team around that, it doesn't benefit you. He's good himself, so I decided to put him further down but he was definitely a weird one to rank and your mileage may vary.
Honestly? Thats the best way to approach games like this. TBH The character I want the most myself is Leonide, and I put him in the bottom tier! I just think he looks cool and love that he uses charging attacks with his giant lance.
You are overselling Inanna, if that's possible. She can't give an extra turn every turn. It has a cooldown. Her heal range is short. Also, units need energy to do skills, so an extra turn isn't always advantageous.
Eh, maybe that will be true, but I'm personally of the view that even with limitations it's one of the most useful types of abilities in strategy RPGs as a whole. Like, if I was playing Fire Emblem and my dancer could only use the act again ability once every three turns and was relegated to healing and attacking otherwise, I'd still consider them one of the best units because when you plan around it that still provides a TON of strategic value. And to be fair, you may have a different play style to where that's less useful, and that's completely okay! It just means we view the strengths and weaknesses of units differently. Tier lists are subjective, so it's entirely fine if mine doesn't seem right for you, and hey maybe with more in game testing I'll either of us will shift our opinion to get closer to each other, y'know?

Nah the math changes a ton if limit goes to 1/3 of the best character in the game rather than to the best character in the game is a world of difference. Unless the best character in the game is 3x better than the next best character it's better to just use a better character instead.
Honestly excellent choices, and a fairly realistic possibility to go for given some of the early stuff. I'll be dropping a video with some Stuff You Should Know Before Playing tips, and part of it is about the first banners available and what the smart way to pull is, and shooting for 2 people in the opening banner if you DO reroll is what is considered the standard "smart plan" as of now.
Not really? Like, all it really does is slim the gap between the tiers, effectively, but the story is beatable with NO legendaries, so this is just for frame of reference to each other. Think of it like Final Fantasy Tactics, if youve ever played. I love Mustadio and he's one of my faves, but he's obviously worse than the likes of Agrias, Beowulf, Meliadoul or Cid... But you can also beat the whole game with generic units easily, and he's better than those. That's the best way I can frame it.
First time to your channel. One critique… your background music gets absurdly loud and it sounds like you are screaming over it. Please consider tuning it down a bit in the future. Good luck on your pulls!
Yeah, the issue there is less the screaming and more I should have taken one last pass through to hear the background music level so I could manually lower those sections as a whole to be even with the rest of the video, be a use the music was added in post-editing so the yelling was natural to the moment. It was a bit of laziness on my part to not do that thoroughly, tbh, but I'll definitely make sure not to drop the ball again.
Listen, there are some cool looking guys in the higher tiers coming down the line! (Go look at Auguste, for instance!) But... Yeah, it's waifus only top tiers at launch lol
Listen: I know my people. I know what they wanna hear. Also of note: Even many of the Common/Uncommon/Rare tier characters are also girls, and many of them are great too! I'll be mentioning some in my next video with beginner tips and such.
Gotta cater to the waifu collectors. Genshin has enough female players to make op male characters but srpgs are not so appealing to women and girls compared to arpgs.
I get the concern, but I still think it's gonna be fun and worth the time because of just how much of the game is not only not directly connected to the Gacha part but, in fact, is actively LIMITED from being affected by the Gacha. The Spiral Of Destiny game mode is STACKED with content and you can literally only even bring in, at MOST, 3 Gacha characters to supplement your troops in a run. It is, by and large, built as a full story mode in an SRPG with branching paths and multiple endings made to be played with NO outside interaction from the Gacha.
@@AnoriandGD that's actually great to hear. Been hearing a lot about this and I'm a huge fan of FFT and Tactics orge so I've been super stoked. Gacha's just casually ruining modern gaming imo and wish I could just spend a flat 60 bucks on it so the online would be fun but Ill skip it if there's anything p2w in it and just play the story. Sad cause a multiplayer TRPG would be soooo much fun.
I fully get that feeling. Yeah, the tl;dr is that the Trials will be the hardest content for gachas, alongside the pvp which... Yeah, whales will dominate that. However, both story modes can be played with minimal gas interference and Spiral Of Destiny ACTIVELY prevents you from using the Gacha to steamroll it. Its a full on single player story and has branching paths akin to Tactics Ogre and SEVEN endings as of now, and the TW version is still getting updates to it a year in so there's gonna be plenty of content as an F2P player (And a lot of my upcoming content will be looking at the game from the F2P angle, including beating challenges without top tier characters and guides to each role with standout characters at the lower rarities.)

This looks pretty consistent with other top tier lists except quite a few of them have Dantalion a tier higher.

Thinking of rerolling till I get Inanna + Gloria or Inanna + Nungal, or Gloria + Nungal or Gloria + Col. Just playing at my own pace in PvE.
