I love your outlook on Deja! I knew she was struggling, and her hatred towards her mom stemmed from hurt…..but it never crossed my mind that she should’ve been put in therapy as well. Thank you for sharing that viewpoint.
Girl the way I cried reading this book lord I was invested in there love and their relationship. Great writing. Man my emotions coming to the end I was crying my eyes out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I read this book in 5 days … baby I was invested ! I wanted to see how fine Josiah was because Kennedy made that man sound like Denzel Washington couldn’t hold a flame to him 🤣
😂😂😂I’m ready for the next book
@@shelbeyandthebookclub I think I’m going to read the one on Soledad … I’m interested to see how she conquers her life w/ what she exposed in this book.
@@shelbyspellman3046 lol that’s the next book in that series
I loved, loved, loved “Before I Let Go”. I went through a number of emotions. I felt like I knew the characters and it felt so real. It was one of my favorites this year by far. The writing was awesome. This book showed you can go to hell and back; and still get through life. Whether on different time tables and processing things differently. Topics covered loss, love, therapy and depression. It showed not only the adults’ but how children handle their experiences. No one handles things exactly the same. The navigation in this book was spot on and relatable.
All of this! It’s just such an amazing book
I'm late to the party but finally finished this last night. The "read me for filth b****" moment was definitely me. Thank you for this review!
You’re welcome
Such a beautiful book!!! I look at marriage so differently now. Baby the way the kids felt about their mama depression babyyyyyyy!!!! 10 out of 10 ! I would’ve never read this if I didn’t do a book swap .
It was so good. I think you will like her book Reel too
Love your description narrative of why writers, write from their own experience. Truth boom.💖
Thank you
I really loved this book. I just finished reading it and needed more and that’s how I found your channel. You bought up some great points in the video but the one i felt strongly about was how they did Deja. I related to her character as a teen who went through a lot and didn’t know how to express it. Being labeled lazy and an angry teenager when I was really just depressed and needed help. She didn’t get help until the end of the book and she had to ask. If everyone else in the family needed tharapy, she did too. I recommend reading instructions for dancing by Nicola Yoon. It’s a YA book but I was surprised I liked it so much. It’s a second chance romance book with a hint of fantasy but still very real.
If you loved 7 days in June and Before I let go, you HAVE to pick up Reel by Kennedy Ryan. I go back and forth on which is my favorite my her but before I let go and reel is TOP TIER romance.
You just gonna have me spending all my monies
Chileeeeeee….. you are me and I am you because this boooooook HERE! Had me besides myself!!! And come to find out we are getting a series out of it!
I was surprised mehow emotional I was reading this beautiful story. I couldn’t put it down until I finished ❤
It was so good
Loved your review! Just finished the book and I agree about Deja
Thank you
I'm a new follower, i just got this book for my birthday.. I'm soooo ready to read this gorgeous 🥰..i guess i need my box of tissues lawwwwd lol 🤣
Listen! I was just looking for something spicy to pass the time, but babbbbyyyyy.... I literally learned so much. This book put so many things into perspective for me. As a mom and wife who's finally fighting for myself, it really was eye-opening.
This makes me happy. You gotta read the second one This Could Be Us
Thanks for the insight, God sent ❤
Alright Ms. Shelbey, I was looking for my next read on Audible and remembered that I recently subscribed to your channel.
I'm trying to diversify my reading, which is usually mysteries and thrillers, and came across this video. Downloading today based on your review, thank you!
Welcome! I hope you enjoy it
I’m reading this book now and can’t put it down!
It’s so good
And keep that smile its everything..keep shining 🌟 Queen 💗👑👑👑👑
Thank you for this review! I recently read Before I Let Go. It completely broke me and then put me back together with the utmost care and expert precision.
As far as recommendations go, you absolutely cannot go wrong with Christina C Jones. A great 2nd chance romance of hers that I love is called Fall in Love Again.
Other noteworthy books of hers (but again, you cannot go wrong with any of her work, I promise you lol) are Behind the Scenes, The Culmination of Everything, Love Notes, & Hostile Takeover.
I’ve been reading through her stuff and I love her! Whew, the Vegas Nights series was so good and Hostile Takeover is one of my favs
I wholeheartedly and sincerely loved this. ❤
Thank you
Before I let go had me in my Feels☺️🥹💚
Loved this review! ❤ I haven’t read it yet but Revive Me by J.L Seegars is a second chance romance by a black author
Let me go grab a copy
I had to give this a like, but I can't watch for fear of spoilers (I've had the book on audio since it came out and I'm ashamed to say I've yet to experience it. I am SO behind on Kennedy Ryan reads. I have like 6 books of hers that I have to read).
Lol go on ahead and read the book
Love it!
The new book is great too. This Could Be Us
Would love to hear your review of Play to Win by Jodie Slaughter. It’s a Black second chance romance.
I will add to my list
