As an ex-medical professional, there were 3 nopes for me. Teeth, the smell of rotting teeth/unclean dentures, broke off crowns, ect. Nope. Feet, everything about feet, smells, looks, and flakes of dry skin floating through the air into my hair and lungs. Nope. Finally, finger/toenail removals. It might bring the patient instant relief, but I feel every second of it for them. I can handle any gangrene, c.diff, GI bleed, busted intestines, trach/vent/tube, retained tampon/condom and carcinomas. I'd trade you in a hot minute for anything besides teeth, feet, and nails.
So pretty much as a medical professional any and every patient that came to you for help you just said no can't do it you repulse me? Would you at least look at somebody if they had a sprained wrist? Or would you be repulsed if they weren't wearing a Rolex or something of equal value?
Gross, I couldn’t work in long term care or be a dentist or podiatrist, a lot of people don’t take care of themselves so I don’t want to be around them but respect to the ones that do and to caregivers who have to deal with dying people and dementia patients who may not have control over their bowels and things like that
@osmosis 01 Thankfully, I was blessed to have co-workers. We all had our "things" and I think it's fairly common across the board. I'd simply trade one of my coworkers for one of their patients that I could handle more professionally. In the rare occasion that was not an option, I'd complete my job as required. To start my rebuttal, I worked in pediatrics, ob/gyn, and family medicine. In those practices, I didn't see many issues with teeth. Working in long-term care facilities, I unfortunately did. I scrubbed my fair share of disgusting dentures that were left behind by the previous shift. I did the best I could to brush the remaining teeth that my dementia patients had. In the early 2000s, when I held down that job, dental care in long-term care was slim to none or left solely to the family/guardian to obtain on their own. I hope it has improved by this point, but I bet it is still mismanaged for patients who don't have an advocate. It was family/adult medicine where I discovered I could feel the pain of every toe nail/finger nail removal. Just by observing with my eyeballs. It doesn't make me nauseous, I can literally remember the pain of ripping off a finger nail in my early 20s and no matter how many times we removed nails I would always feel it, like nails on a chalkboard. Even though it usually brought the patient immediate pain relief, ex; ingrown toe nails are obscenely painful, and typically, the patient was in significantly less pain by the time we were done. There were also accidents where patients would come in with a bloody nail hanging on by God knows what, and God knows why... off it would have to come. Just thinking about an injection of lidocaine underneath a toe nail still gives me the pain feeling. Finally, feet. I have never liked feet. I'm not sure if it stems from my general dislike of the look of my own feet and has morphed into this or when it began. I'm not sure if it's a hygiene issue, but watching flakes of dead skin float on the air as we would work on feet was enough for me. With all the facets of health care, if these are my only three "nopes" I think I'm doing fairly well for someone who now holds the title of Bar Wench. JS. I wouldn't hesitate to give you or anyone else lifesaving care if the situation were to arise, but it's unlikely that a tooth, foot, or nail would prove to be a true emergency.
@Sandy FerBron I have had patients with open globe injuries and globe luxations. Thankfully, those types of injuries are sent to a specialist asap. You can't clean your own teeth without someone checking up to make sure you're doing it right? Does your mom still make sure you cleaned your room?
@@youtube.commentator this made me laugh a good bit
@@nigelreginaldaugustus-bake1503 well give er a thumbs up, I'm trying to regain confidence in my original conquest of commentating... a sub would definitely boost it
@youtube commentator ....yes, yes she does. And I showed her your comment and she told me not to pay you no mind you have daddy issues. He left 40 yrs ago to go get cigarettes 🚬 and never came back, so now your mom blames you for daddy leaving her with you.
Ahh jackpot 🔥

O problema que tratamento dentário nós Estados Unidos é muito caro...nem todos tem condições de um bom tratamento... aqui no Brasil todos tem acesso a um bom tratamento... só não tem quem não quer... porque é tão barato...eles dividem e tudo.
