How fortunate you caught that when you did. An inside Dually Blowout out in the middle of nowhere is every truckers nightmare. As always Pippi, you are ahead of the curve!!
First thing I thought was the infamous Dodge Death Wobble, but watched the rest of the vid and saw that you had heard of it. Nice catch on the diagnostics Bobby! Stay safe you guys.
I get so happy when you upload 😛. Although I am not apart of the RV community at all, I just genuinely love you as a person. You are so nice and always happy. I do enjoy your content and your videos are quite informational. I hope your having a great summer 🌺🌸
I'm so glad you nipped that tyre problem in the bud before it blew out. I had a front-wheel blow-out a couple of years ago at 70mph...how I kept the car under control and didn't flip it; I've no idea. It turned out the car had cheap unknown-name tyres on it (I only bought it about a month previous and although they were new, I didn't notice)...£600 and a set of Continentals later... Peace of mind is priceless. Happy RV-ing. :)
Wonderful video as always. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I love your independence and free spirit. I love the destination information you share but also love the repair and maintenance updates.
Good job Pippi & Gene for catching the tire issue! I had a blowout years ago that did some minor damage to the vehicle. I never skimp on tires anymore. I never wear the tread off any of my vehicles, always keep track of how old they are. Now that I also pull a travel trailer its even more important. I also agree with the others about a floor jack, we have a small one in a case and it can handle my GM 3500 Express van no problem. Love your videos! Safe Travels!
As always great video. I love that you have no problem gettin down and dirty to see for yourself what if anything you can do. You learn a lot that way, save a ton to spend on fun. And you saved yours and other around you a very bad experience. Nice
It was great to see both yourself and Bobby Gene together in a video. There's been a long absence, then a couple of quick Gene cameos, but your video here, with both of you together was great. You do make a good team together and I love Bobby Gene's antics on camera. Hope to see more of you two together.
Earlier today I went to have the pressure tested in my tires. So funny that I get the video this evening. Yes you are right to keep up so not to have any problems down the road. Thanks and Jerome is a really nice place. As always enjoyed the video.
Pippi please do this ol truck driver a favor and get rid of that screw Jack and buy yourself a good heavy duty 3 or 4 ton hydraulic Jack at Napa or Sears
Yes, and please get a floor not a bottle jack. I had my Dakota pickup fall off the factory screw jack (just like the one in your video), I was changing a rear tire, fortunately it fell after I installed the spare while I was tightening the lug nuts, no damage, no one injured. Screw jacks and bottle jack are just an accident waiting to happen in my mind. Not saying that you can't have problems with a floor jack either, but they start out being a far more stable lifting platform. Also always use jack stands in addition to your floor jack. Ok I'll stop preaching now.
I think a hydraulic jack is a good idea, but the most important thing to do is to use an axle stand. You should not be just relying on any type of jack on its own, so jack it up and then put an axle stand under. I think bottle jacks are fine, I have a 10 ton high lift bottle jack that I used when I had a 5 ton Chevy dually. So have fun on your travels and stay safe.
Pippi, I’m 76 yr old Canadian ....just visited Sedona in early March...made a side trip to Cottonwood & early native monument nearby...1300 yr old site on a steeply rising hill (with some reconstructed stone building!)."....the park ranger did an excellent presentation including pointing out Jerome in the distance high on the mountain side!!..
Thank Goodness the problem was found and taken care of, Glad you didn't take a chance and wait to fix it. Thank you for the tour of the town & that cool little shop ! It's amazing what beautiful handmade items I've seen in yours and Bobby Gene's videos. It's such a treat to see a post from you or Bobby waiting for me, it makes my day !! Love & Hugs to Chase & Pearl. Big Hugs to you & Bobby Gene & most of all Safe Travels ! Have lots of fun & I'll see you " on the road again " at least on my computer screen ! LOL
Great video of the sights and scenery. And you always put great information out there. Way to get after the problem and be proactive.Nice to have Bobby Gene and his help and experience.👌
Just spent my day filling all my tires to 125 psi and installing my tire monitor i bought from your store. found two bad valves and all my tires were at 80 or 90 psi and the tires clearly say 120 psi COLD. that explains the mushy feeling the two times i drove it. So glad you found your bad tires before anything happened.
You're always so informative but because I'm such a dog lover I focused on Pearl at the end with her need for attention. Her jaw...so funny. What a sweet girl.
Great choice, Bridgestone bought Firestone in like 1993 so you're buying quality and piece of mind. Remember, steering wheel shaking-vibration=check front tires, whole vehicle vibration-noise check rear tires.
That was a nice tour of Northern Az. and Jerome. Thanks for the interesting information. Very glad you avoided serious tire problems which could have resulted in castastrophic damage to both your rig and yourself. I bought a Sears jack and you guessed it, Made In China.
Great video and Jerome is an interesting little town. Went there about 2 years ago and never saw so many cars packed into one small town as they had some event going on. No place to park my dodge dually that day for sure:-) . Thanks for posting this video as I will be checking my tires closer for any signs of tread separation. Bobby you rock! And thanks for keeping her safe!
After much grief with tires, I moved to Michelins and no more problems. And the tires I had so many problems with were not cheap, in fact one cost more than the Michelin. Good job to both of you.
I had something similar on my 2500 CTD..vibrations pretty bad, but I had decent tires..Turns 3 out of 4 were out of balance...Balanced out and now smooth as butter..Glad you caught it early..roadside repairs are no fun.
Pippi..going to go check my tires on my Navi especially on the inner ones in back! Yes on the comments about a better jack! Floor jacks on so dangerous with heavy vehicles. Thanks for all good info!
Repairing elevators for 40 years here. Your observations of any unusual noises or operational changes can save you from being in shut down or accident event. If something changes, investigate the cause for that change. Be the Maytag repairman instead of the fireman. Good job, impressive. Oh get some jack stands.
Happy you found the gremlin. Full admiration for your willingness to crawl under there and get dirty. Recommendations made by Trucker Cameron are valid- bottle jacks are not stable. I have one , but I use the more stable type most times. safe travels.
Great educational video. So important. I use a dialable torque wrench to tighten my lug nuts for security, and because I tend to break bolts accidentally..😊

Not sure if you are still in the area. But you have some great boondocking (free) sites near Cottonwood. Ten Thousand Mile Rd I believe. Also, take the dogs and find a beautiful swimming hole and Spring along the Parson's Creek Trail right outside of Cottonwood. My Dad has lived in Cottonwood for 25 years. It's beautiful there. Hope you enjoyed Jerorme.
Great video! If you liked Jerome you should come on down to our area in Tombstone and then drive over to Bisbee. Bisbee is another mining town with lots of history and shops. Safe travels.
Well look at it this way Pip, you only have 8 tires to feed instead of 10 now. I had a vibration at 35 & 70 that haunted me for years in the E350. It was broken exhaust hangers & clamps (double) hanger on back of muffler & single hanger 3 feet back from that. Even tho the exhaust is stainless, the hangers and clamps are not.

I was driving my father's tow vehicle when the MIDDLE tread of a rear tire separated. There was a strip of 2" on the outside of the tire left to drive on!
Had that same thing happen to me. Those jack that auto makers put in there vehicle are garbage... as soon as you can replace it with a better jack. Awesome video pipi!👍👊🇺🇸
Love your videos. It sure is a good thing you caught that before they blew. I had tried fall apart on my 30 foot travel trailer while on the road. Broke down right in front of an used tire shop in the Lake Okeechobee area of Florida.
When I had my dully I put air extenders so I can fill/check inside and outside tire pressure , and E 10 ply tires . Didn't know they put the air indicators on trucks .really need a roll Jack in your toolbox. And get a Chevrolet Duramax
How are your sweet dogs so well behaved?. Did you send them to be trained? So glad you found the tire problem and now you are all safe. I’m amazed at you being so brilliant with mechanics. Love your videos.
Great trouble shooting Bobby! WOW! I love having my man with me. It is a safe feeling knowing he knows so much about vehicles and I'm sure you feel the same Pippi. NOW, safe travels. :0)
FYI, Anything causing this would be felt in the steering wheel if it was in the front end. Excellent trouble shooting. It's was wonderful how YOU (peppi) was alerted to and got right look into that. Always use what nature gave you in your life. Cheers
It's such a gratifying feeling when a problem like this is solved and fixed...no matter how small it is.
How fortunate you caught that when you did. An inside Dually Blowout out in the middle of nowhere is every truckers nightmare. As always Pippi, you are ahead of the curve!!

Bobby is a honest mechanic. A dishonest one would lied and told you bunch craps thats not true. Glad it was a quick fix. Thanks for sharing
Getting a vibration fixed quickly is important, you can cause other damage to your vehicle when it vibrates. You are a wealth of knowledge.
Good job that you found the problem sooner rather than later. Safety First.
Great, informative video, Pippi.....you probably saved some lives today!
I get so happy when you upload 😛. Although I am not apart of the RV community at all, I just genuinely love you as a person. You are so nice and always happy. I do enjoy your content and your videos are quite informational. I hope your having a great summer 🌺🌸
Thank you so much Nikki, happy summer!
Wow! Thank God you put safety first!
I'm glad this has a happy ending. Nothing better than getting a new set of shoes on your rig as well. Keeps you and everyone else safe. Cheers!
I'm glad you didn't have an actual blowout. A safe Pippi is a happy Pippi!
I'm so grateful that you found the problem before it was too late. Stay safe in your travels.
Thank you
Nice tour of Jerome, AZ Pippi. Nice to see you are hands on and informative of mechanical issues.
Thanks for the tip Safe travels Bobby and Pippi.

yep
And on that note, the aluminum ones are worth the extra price when you're gonna be lifting it, not just rolling it around a garage.
Very nice troubleshooting work guys, and I'm glad you mentioned the death wobble because I thought of that initially, so I'm sure lots of people did.

at it again -- just can't take him anywhere!!
A reason not to overload a 3/4 ton truck pulling a 15,000lb. fifth wheel I guess

Thanks for the lesson on dualy tires! I don't have them, but your experience will stick in my mind in the future.
You're always so informative but because I'm such a dog lover I focused on Pearl at the end with her need for attention. Her jaw...so funny. What a sweet girl.
Yes that’s the Greyhound chatter. It’s breed specific and they do it when they’re happy or excited ☺️
Good job with the diagnosis. Thanks for the video.
Great videos. Best troubleshooting ever... Glad you are safe.

Yeah not the most opportune vehicle to take to Jerome. I love mine otherwise though too
OMG so glad you’re safe now!
Thank you
Glad you found the problem with the tires before you have a serious accident. I wish people would check their tires more often.
After much grief with tires, I moved to Michelins and no more problems. And the tires I had so many problems with were not cheap, in fact one cost more than the Michelin. Good job to both of you.
Chad I switched to Michelin too. Summer and winters. MXV4 & Alpine, respectfully.
Good call Pipi. I am glad you are keeping in safe. The cot of the tires don't even get close to the cost of your life. Ed

good job on the tires. Glad you got that taken care of before it blew.
Jerome is awesome! I want to spend more time there.
Pipper, ...NICE ONE....enjoyed this thoroughly, thanks for the lesson !
Smart dude...that BOBBY !
👍😄
Jerome AZ is by far one of my most favorite places ever.
Pippi..going to go check my tires on my Navi especially on the inner ones in back! Yes on the comments about a better jack! Floor jacks on so dangerous with heavy vehicles. Thanks for all good info!

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I've always wanted to go to Jerome. Thanks for the look-see. The town reminds me a lot of Bisbee, AZ.
Happy safer tires. Glad for you.
Great job checking your tires! Also little stones stuck in the tread of the tires can cause vibrations!
Glad you got it figured out👍 And glad you put good tires on, those old tires were bottom of the barrel quality wise.
Safe travels😉
Great educational video. So important. I use a dialable torque wrench to tighten my lug nuts for security, and because I tend to break bolts accidentally..😊
Great video, as someone else said get a torque wrench setup to check those lugs. Safe travels. Good seeing ya BG.
HI Pippi , always good to see you.

My daughter and her family live in rimrock AZ. I've been to jerome twice and loved it. I might move soon to cottonwood az soon.
The whole area is great
Great Video I think you Gene make a good team.
Glad you found it problem with the tires on the rear your truck
Hey Pip. The sound of your is very nice. I like the diesel engine and also the Dodge Ram. Enjoy 👌
Glad you caught that Pippi!

U and Bobby are to funny enjoy watching you two
Well look at it this way Pip, you only have 8 tires to feed instead of 10 now. I had a vibration at 35 & 70 that haunted me for years in the E350. It was broken exhaust hangers & clamps (double) hanger on back of muffler & single hanger 3 feet back from that. Even tho the exhaust is stainless, the hangers and clamps are not.
Awesome video. Thanks for the tips. I've always dug Jerome.
👍
Hi Pippi, you need tire pressure control system, it's cheaper than losing tires. Your country is very beautiful, we love seeing the cities, nature, animals and the beautiful Galgo! Big hug from Natal/Brazil.
ruclips.net/video/6ZcRc2YyU_w/видео.html
TPMS system won’t register if there’s wear. Mine didn’t show any difference. It’ll only tell you if they’re losing air
Very interesting and informative video. Thanks for sharing!
Very nice scenery.
Well done! Thank you for that! Good to know
I hope the tire shop told you that the tires are rated for their weight ONLY at maximum pressure (Usually 80 psi). I also have a Ram dually and I run 80 psi in all 6 tires when towing. Only lowering the pressure to 80 front 60 rear when not towing (assuming it going to be a while between tows) Safe travels!
Pippi,
From what I could see you have NEXEN Tires. My New 2016 Dodge Dually came with these tires also. At 9000 miles both Front tires had separated belts
Replaced all 6 tires with a better Brand because I could not trust this brand.
Everyone! Please be careful if you have Nexen Tires on your vehicle.
Pippi, glad you found out what was wrong and that you are safe.
Hi Pippi. You need to do a toe-in adjustment, and while youre at it, check the front tires so that its not an uneven tire wear.
Great video! Thanks for the videos!
Had the same thing happen except it was the outside duals that ruptured the belts. Found that you could lower the pressure about 15lbs in the affected tires so I could get to the tire shop and have them replaced. Lowering the pressure stopped the wild ride.
Good to know in case it happens again. Glad you got them fixed before any major damage.
A friend of mine had Dually's and one of the wheels came off and he didn't know about it until he got home! #Pippenings
So glad you caught this!!!......sorry about the $$
Tread separation I bet....Did you notice the age stamp on the tires? Very important especially when towing a heavy 5th wheel. So glad you caught it and you are safe. Always great videos.
You kind of need to "SUPER SIZE" your wrenches and jacks here, mostly for safety, but a great catch on the tires. Expensive fix but worth every penny. Great information:) Also keep a close eye on the 5th wheel tires:)
I was driving my father's tow vehicle when the MIDDLE tread of a rear tire separated. There was a strip of 2" on the outside of the tire left to drive on!
Yikes!

Love your videos. It sure is a good thing you caught that before they blew. I had tried fall apart on my 30 foot travel trailer while on the road. Broke down right in front of an used tire shop in the Lake Okeechobee area of Florida.
I blew a tire in my class A once right by a tire place on the highway with nothing else in the area. Amazing how that happens
Pippi Peterson some people would call that "divine intervention".
Good on ya Pippi! Great info.
Hi, its good to see your videos its informative and I like it especially your way of communication. I am your big fan I am from SAUDI ARABIA.FAHAD
Thanks for watching Fahad, happy trails!
I enjoy your Videos keep it up and have loads of fun 😎
When I had my dully I put air extenders so I can fill/check inside and outside tire pressure , and E 10 ply tires . Didn't know they put the air indicators on trucks .really need a roll Jack in your toolbox. And get a Chevrolet Duramax
